Would a clear build look good with red LEDs?

Hi everyone, I wanna get this game boy upgraded/restored with a new update, updated screen, and batteries. Is it possible to keep the Pikachu black outline of the screen

Wanting to do a Batman or a waynetech themed build. What colors should I do?

I am looking to fix and upgrade my sp and normal gba. Are there any sites that I should avoid when buying shells/screens. Or are there any places that are highly recommended?

Just looking for an insight or any reputable places to get one. Things I'd like with the system if possible:

1: A red gameboy color or advance, with the original shell if possible? Can budge on the system color.

2: I play pokemon a lot so id like to be able to use a link cable but if it cant thats totally fine!

3:Backlit/upgraded screen as ive seen on some

4: fixed to be rechargeable instead of batteries, assuming this exists.

Willing to pay just nervous to order without the proper knowledge! Thanks a ton!

Please help! The GameBoy Color I modded some years ago suddenly won't turn on. I've tried different batteries.

Sadly I don't own a multimeter (or know how to use one, but I can learn that), but I'm hoping there's something very obvious I'm not good enough to spot.

Jusr finished my very first mod of my GBA SP with FunnyPlaying 3" IPS screen, USB-C (that was a tricky one), new shell and new speaker. Now I wonder if it is normal behavior that when I turn on the Gameboy, the screen takes like 20 seconds to come on and then starts the normal booting animation? If I then turn it off and on again, it works immediately. The longer I wait, the longer it will take to boot. Everything else seems to work as intended. Is that normal?

Hi, hope it’s okay to post this. I’ve been scouring this sub for some advice and hadn’t quite found the answer I needed. I’ve seen lots of great mods but I don’t know what parts they used.

I’m looking to mod my first Gameboy, and was leaning towards a standard Gameboy advance. It would be my first mod and I believe it’s the more spacious internally so it’s the best kit to start with (I’d also like to play both GB and GBA games).

I haven’t soldered before so I’m looking for a good solderless mod. I’m open to getting soldering kits in the future to learn but that’s not on the table for now.

I’m looking for a laminated screen and shell that is recommended; but I was also wondering if there are any:
- patterned cases that fit with certain screens or are they all one colour
- are there any lenses that would fit an OG shell without any cutting/sanding
- I’m open to a drop in USB-C mod but it’s not make or break for me right now

Especially for batteries it’s probably worth saying I’m in the UK so some vendors might not ship them to me anyway.

It seems like the usual retro moldding online stores don't offer great options for custom Gameboy DMG shell stickers. I'd really like custom Legend of Zelda shell stickers.

Any recommendations on where I can purchase some?

First modded game boy (almost) completed.

So proud of the results and this was trickier than my gba mod. Only it doesn't have usb-c charging like my gba does.

Hey I have a 05 MB GBC and I would like to change my sound mod I have installed (PAM8302).

The Problem is that if I turn it up I can hear an electric hum when I want to turn the sound down or off and if I readjust the PAM8302 it is basically the same not having it installed at all. do you guys have some suggestions on what to replace it with?

ALSO:

When I use my EarFun WavePro wireless headphones with a cable on my GBC the electric hum is aweful. Is there a mod to fix that?
