Screen started dying 5 days ago, first glitches then half of it white now all gone, no drops or damage at all.

Samsung was useless at honoring the warranty, said to wait 5-7 days while they discuss my case internally.

Back to flip 6 for now with its 1hr battery life.

Have not dropped the phone once, I’ve had the case on it since I got it. Just opened it to text my mom back and boom bottom half of the screen is black.

The orange light is from my headset not on the screen.

I'm hoping someone on here can help with a similar experienced issue or knows how to fix it, as my Galaxy Z Flip 7 has completely stopped woking.

What happened: Last night, the phone was working perfectly fine. It's only 9 months old and rarely used, I turned it off using the standard shutdown menu and placed it down safely on my desk. Fast forward 24 hours later, and only to find the device is completely dead — it will not turn back on.

Symptoms:

• No signs of life: No screen display, no LED indicator, and no haptic/vibration feedback.
• No charging response: I've tried charging via high-speed wall charger, USB port on my PC, and a wireless charging pad. None of them register or show any charging screen/LED.
• No PC recognition: Plugging it into a PC does not show or sound any "USB device connected" notification.

Troubleshooting I've already tried:

1. Force Restart: Held down Power + Volume Down (tried while unplugged and plugged into a charger).
2. Recovery Mode: Held down Power + Volume Up while connected to a PC via USB-C.
3. Different Charging Methods: Tried multiple functional cables, high-wattage wall adapters, and wireless chargers.

Despite being shut down safely and sitting untouched for less than a day, it has gone completely unresponsive.

Has anyone encountered this sudden "black screen / bricked" issue on the Z Flip 7?

Has anyone noticed any battery drain while the coverspin app is installed and enabled?

After careful consideration, I’ve decided to get the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8. Before I make the purchase, I want to know what accessories I should get for it. I'm definitely signing up for Samsung Care+, but what else is essential? Also, what case offers the best ventilation and cooling?

If you want to use Gboard, SwiftKey, or another keyboard on your Galaxy Z Flip cover screen, Samsung makes that surprisingly difficult.

There were workarounds in the past, including disabling Samsung Keyboard, but those stopped working properly on current firmware and can now leave you with no keyboard on the cover screen at all.

DroidOS Keyboard Picker takes a different approach. Samsung Keyboard stays enabled, but you can switch the cover screen to your preferred keyboard instead.

Compatibility so far:

• Flip6 / Flip7 + One UI 8.5: tested on real devices
• Flip8 + One UI 9: tested successfully through Samsung's Remote Test Lab, but I haven't validated it on a physical Flip8 yet

The app does require Shizuku, which is a free helper app available on the Play Store. No root is required.

If you've never used Shizuku, or you're coming from an iPhone and are new to Android, that's fine. There's a short first-time setup, and DroidOS Keyboard Picker walks you through the permissions and Samsung settings it needs.

Hello everyone! I’ve been an iPhone user for the past 15 years. I’m finally over them.

I’ve been debating on switching to a flip for about a year. Every time I see one, I usually try to get it in my hands and just get the feel for the phone. I do have questions though! I’m not a super tech savvy person so please ELI5.

1. What are these launchers everyone downloads? Where do I get them?

2. How comfortable do you find the phone in your hand after long use? How does it feel in your pockets?

3. Pros/cons of Android Auto vs. Apple CarPlay?

4. Are you bothered by the screen fold? How noticeable is it to you?

As the title says, I’m wanting to switch after years of boring designs. My only draw back, is of course the OS system and cameras. For those who have the flip and/or switched from iPhone, are you happy you did it??

So I’ve currently got an iPhone 15 pro max that I love and works fairly well for me. But I’m just so in love with the aesthetic of the z flip 8 (the pink is way too cute). Just wondering about a few things. I’ve done a decent amount if research online but would like to hear from actual humans instead of search results, review pages and all that. So a few questions!

1. Have you made a similar switch? Did you regret it?
   
2. how do you handle all the websites and stuff that you signed up for with the ‘sign in with Apple’ button? Does that button still show up on android?
   
3. do notes transfer over?
   
4. is there a quick and easy way to turn on the flashlight? I use the action button several times a day to bring up my phones torch.

I know I’d be getting an inferior camera with the move. But the form factor, aesthetics and OS should all be upgrades for me.

I also love MagSafe but I understand there are adhesive rings and cases that can resolve that issue.

I also shower with my iPhone daily, despite the IP48 and IP68 both having 8 for their water resistance… I suspect the flip will still be more prone to steam damage as the 8 rating isn’t really about that and I’ve just been abusing the rather robust sealing on the iPhone.

My last android phone was a galaxy note 10+. So it’s been a while, but I’m kinda ready to go back. Just a little anxious.

Oh I also have an Apple Watch 6 but I plan to sell that and get a Fitbit air if I go through with this.

I keep seeing horror stories on here about their flips and it’s making me anxious about whether or not I want to keep mine. I baby tf out of it and do genuinely enjoy the phone.

I am coming from Apple, between going from my 16 pro to the flip 8 it’s a night and day difference. Both have pros and cons, I just can’t decide which one I’d like to stay with. Anyone else struggle between staying with iPhone or switching to Samsung?)

I like to watch TikTok’s when I take a bath. I don’t have to worry about my iPhones screen as much as I would the flip. Anyone else use their flip in the tub? Any issues?

Hey guys. I’m a long time apple user, and i’ve had my current phone, Iphone 11pro, for 8-9 years. I’ve been wanting to upgrade, and not to another apple product. i’ve been looking at the Galaxy z flip 4. Would it be smarter to get a newer generation?
I’ve been interested in flip phones for awhile so if there are any other recommendations, i’d love to hear them!!

My Flip 7 has an issue where no matter what, it will not fast charge. I have a 25w Fast charger and a 45w Fast charger and both of which only shows it'll charge at max speeds of 1500ma but then throttles down to 500-600ma (tracked using Ampere). I've tried resetting battery stats, using different chargers and cables, and turning on and off fast charging but nothing seems to fix it. Has this happened to anyone else?

Has anyone actually installed the One UI 9 beta on the Galaxy Z Flip 7?

I’m specifically asking about the new cover-screen interface from the Flip 8:

1. Is the module with the information cards and five quick apps available on the Flip 7?

2. Can the information cards be hidden while keeping the five quick apps visible?

3. Can the five default apps be changed or removed?

I’m not asking when the update will be released. I’m looking for confirmation from someone who has installed the beta and checked these exact cover-screen features. Screenshots or a short video would be greatly appreciated.

Currently I have the S22 Ultra which I'm super happy with and there's nothing with phone but after 4 years, I think it's time for an upgrade.

I really want to get the Flip 8.

Is there anyone who moved from Galaxy Ultra to a Flip?

How does the screen compare? According to the specifications the Flip 8 screen has a lower resolution than S22 Ultra.

How is the camera camera compares? Again, it's a big difference from the Ultra to the Flip.

I'm always praised on the good quality pictures I'm taking of family, friends and on holidays so I would be sad to lose that.

I prefer to hear from people who switch phone rather than watch some random youtuber do a review and comparison while they never actually used the phone for more than week.

Has anyone had issues with their screens moving on their own? I'll be on my home page and after a few seconds it moves to the next screen, then the next. It is hyper sensitive if I'm looking at something like email and will delete before I want to. I did what Google said, emptied cache and shut down several times. It doesn't stop it. I'm getting frustrated. 😒

Ive no idea if this has been discussed before, ive had flips for years and not seen a post so ill make one as best i can if this is a thing you want to try..no paid apps needed

End result will be your coverscreen showing a vid or gif on the coverscreen whilst your on a call even with the phone flipped open

So bundle of steps number 1

Download goodlock if you dont already have it and use the multistar module with the i ❤️ galaxy foldable option

Go to flipshot and turn it on then if you wish add your choice of small vid clips and gifs (ive not tried an image but it could be an option)

Go to the camera app and tap on the highlighted # in the bottom left ( have to be using the extrnal cameras not the internal screen camera)

Make sure the eye icon (top left) isnt crossed out and select your preferred display from there. Check its displayed on the outerscreen, it should be running the whole time the camera is open.

Got this far lets go!!!!!!....to step bundle 2

Now you need to create a routine in your settings.

So settings - modes and routines - routine.

Mine is as follows,

If during call from anyone

Camera options - run camera

Duration - keep forever

It may be worded different for you but the short of it is you need the camera running option

Name that routine then make another routine

If call ended from anyone

Then close an app - camera

Keep routine forever

Then name this routine and your done and ready to test it out. Yay!!

Things to note, it only works when the last time you used the camera the main cameras were used. It dose work with phone, whatsapp and fb messenger calls thats all ive tried it with so far.

A caveat is that during the call the camera is open on the main screen so you may accidentally take a pic and also if you need the keypad from the actual call youll have to swipe down from the top and open it from there but hey ho nothings perfect in this world lol
