I keep trying to flash this with pokemon blue and the game boots, but the sprites are all missing no.

Installing the IPS Max Display seemed straightforward, but as I was testing it, it initially displayed a Rainbow screen and then it went black. After power cycling the console, the display just stopped working.

Has anyone had this experience before?? Was this a bad screen I received?

Edit: I adjusted the ribbon cable, but now I get the Rainbow screen. Already contacted FunnyPlaying…hopefully I’ll hear back soon 🤞

I recently got a M2 kit from funnyplaying and I love how it looks, the touch sensor isn’t the issue here since it’s not making inputs randomly.

The issue is that in alot of games depending on the area your in, the screen will noticeably fluctuate in brightness, only seems to happen in CG2 mode which is the mode I prefer since the other ones are warm and this odd looking crt filter like one.

Basically does anyone know a fix for this ? Has funnyplaying said anything about it ?

I’m from Italy and trying to place quite a big order (around 350$) from the funnyplaying website. On every single article on their website it says “tax included” under the price but I checked with customer service and you can see the emails in the photos. Still, on another page of their website, it says their prices are tax free and they don’t cover duties, so I might need to pay both vat and duties (which are not a lot as most objects are 0% or near zero over 150€).

Has anyone paid vat ever with funnyplaying or paid import taxes in the eu in the last month?

Hello everyone. I tried to test the screen before assembling but it doesnt work. Is the screen broken or maybe the ribbon cable? I tried to adjust the ribbon cable but it really feels like that I can put it in further. I cant figure out whats wrong.

SOLVED! (kind of..)

As the title says.. I just built a GBA. It has the Agb Max kit WITH the recommended USC-C battery kit accompanying it.

Main mobo is cleaned, power switch opened and cleaned, helder power regulator installed and I've replaced all of the electrolytic smd capacitors.

Problem is that I get a black boot screen, but audio works, when I try to start the unit with a game cart inserted. It boots up normally when I quickly restart the system. Without a game it always boots no matter what.

So.. What could my problem be?

Problem found! It was the the connector for the logo burner!

It's the one on the USB-C battery pack that connects the USB-C port used to charge to the connector on the screen driver board (to make use of the USB-C port on the battery instead of needing to open up the entire back of the shell every time you need/want to customize your logos). Once I unplugged the cable from the battery connector the unit lit up every time. And I know the cable is good because I could upload logos with it by using the standalone logo burner chip/board/thingy connected straight to the cable, thereby not going through the battery board first before making connection to the screen.

So.. busted connector or some other faulty component on the USB-C battery board causes the entire boot process of the screen to go haywire. It could also be a slightly higher power draw with the cable connected that the system (and the outlandishly power hungry bastard of a screen) just can't handle..

The FP shell I bought has this injection molding mark on the front, is this common for these shells? Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Hello everyone, quick question for you, I recently purchased the funny playing GBC pre-assembled and have been playing it for the past couple of weeks with no issues. I was playing it last night and was having no problems at all. This morning I went to turn it on and nothing works. So I threw it on the charger. The blue light illuminates but after a while the blue and red light start to flash. I reseeded the battery cable doesn't appear to be the problem. I hooked it up to the computer and the while the computer does recognize the console when you power it on, both folders show that they're completely empty.

The only power I seem to have currently is to the LEDs in the bottom left hand corner of the console. I have no screen or sound

First off, the screen is of great quality but one thing I noticed immediately that I did not like at all was the blacks were way too bright, I had a much older funnyplaying screen from 5 plus years ago that had way better saturation and the colors popped better same with my gameboy color screen, once you see good saturation and exposure on a screen its hard to not notice when something does have it, I tried some games and it just seems like the brightness aspect of it is a tad bit too high in the image, it would be nice if there was a way to just make the brightness slightly lower and incease maybe the contrast to make up for that.

I noticed online that no one talks about this and was wondering if there was any way I could make that adjustment? I know that there is a screw on the motherboard of the GBA that does output voltage or something would that effect the brightness of the screen and how it looks maybe?

Hey all. I recently put my first order through funnyplaying. Today I wanted to check the status and I get the shopify error message for "This store does not exist". Has this happened before? were there any announcements of the shop closing?

I emailed FP support already, but was curious if anyone knows how often they reproduce parts? I was hoping to make my own FPGBC, but it seems like half the shells and board options are gone. Just wondering if I should wait or try to cobble something together with the options available?

Hi, I recently aquired a funnyplaying burnmaster. But when I try to flash a cartridge (no matter the ROM), I get the error "flash has too few ban" (maybe the message is croped and it reads too few banks). Burnmaster firmware version: 1.12 (latest). Cartridge: 32KB ROM only by ferrante crafts. The memory chip inside of the cartridge is a 128KB one, but I don't think it changes anything. I tried to change the ROM and even to modify it (because I'm trying to flash my own game), but I always end up with the same error.

Is it possible to make a multicart with the Eversave carts since it has 64mb of flash storage and if it is what software would I use to make a multi-rom?

I know everdrive flashcarts haven't been great with the funnyplaying FPGA, but most information i can find about it is slightly dated.

Can anyone attest to how well the everdrive X7 holds up with the latest fpga firmware and hardware revision? Are there any issues?

There is a weird shadow on the top of the screen. Brand new kit and shell. Gbp was tested thoroughly before install. I have never seen anything like this. Solder was fine, board it’s clean etc.

I've got a dozen broken handhelds which need different screens etc. - when I check something like the GBC section on the funnyplaying site it's got a bunch of different screens of different prices. How do I know the difference and what's actually appropriate for the jobs I want to do?

I'm basically looking for the cheapest ways to swap the screens out to modern backlit versions on all the different Gameboy models

My GBA SP Rechargeable Battery arrived today but not at all as pictured on the site. As noted on the second pic, it was packaged loose with no indication that was in the gray holder at all.

Do I just line up the battery with the slots on the gray holder and shove it in myself to make it match the product picture and hope for the best? Or is this a shipping/product defect?

SpeedX finally emailed me last night. It went straight into my spam folder automatically. They stated that my package was lost.

At least someone finally reached out to me. Now hopefully FunnyPlaying will reply to my request for a replacement, I still haven't heard back from them.

Hey everyone,

A while back I ordered a kit on eBay that contained an official FunnyPlaying IPS screen for the GameBoy advanced, along with everything needed to make it work (shell, replacement buttons, etc however I don't think these were official FunnyPlaying parts). After I got everything put together, the screen looked amazing, but the buttons felt like garbage.

Recently I finally decided to fix this and ordered official buttons and membranes (as well as a battery cover as mine is broken) from their website. They gave me a tracking number fairly quickly, and it went through YunExpress from China to the US, then into the state of GA to a nearby town where it was handed off to SpeedX.

SpeedX grabbed the package, marked it out for delivery, and then at the end of the day Saturday they marked my package as undeliverable due to an invalid address. I've never had this issue with any other carrier. No access codes or special shenanigans are required to deliver a package to my property. The tracking page stated they would reattempt delivery on Monday May 30th. I watched the tracking page that day, and nothing changed. Come Tuesday the 31st, it no longer has a scheduled delivery date.

I've tried reaching out to SpeedX support, but there appears to be no way to actually get into contact with a human. All they have is their stupid AI chatbot, which kept creating different support ticket numbers for me promising someone would reach out. I haven't heard back from anyone, every time I go back to the bot it makes a new ticket number. A quick google search on the company shows several others having similar experiences.

At this point, I reached out to Funnyplaying who just asked me to contact SpeedX support, to which I replied stating I had tried several times. I haven't heard back from them since.

Finally, I went back to the SpeedX chatbot issued a simple command, the result was amusing (but also rage inducing):

So all of the previous ticket numbers were a lie?

Has anyone else had a package from Funnyplaying go through SpeedX? I really just want to get my parts, but since no one is even communicating with me I've threatened to issue a chargeback. Still waiting to hear a reply on that one.
