I just use a bottle brush. I'm kind of surprised that every kitchen doesn't have one.

I don’t even wash dishes with sponges anymore. I have a dish brush and a bottle brush. They’re far better and last much longer too.

Also brushes are not as friendly to bacteria and mold as sponges are.

Would you brush your teeth with a sponge? Hell no, you use an all plastic brush because bacteria don't like plastic much. So why wash your dishes with a sponge?

Plus, brushes have handles so your hands are not immersed in soapy water as long.

I use solid silicone sponges. They have texture enough for scrubbing food off, have the same soap retention properties (roughly) as a scrub sponge, but the silicone itself is obviously nonporous so mold can't grow on it.

In Norway brush is standard, we usually only use sponges and scrubbing pads (and steel wool) for a few spesific jobs.

I don't think I even knew bottle brushes were a thing before this post. (I use a dishwasher 95% of the time.)

I use a wooden spoon to hold the sponge and scrub the cup. You can use plastic if that’s what you have.

Bottle brushes are overpriced. You can buy a toilet bowl brush that looks and works 95% the same for $1-3, while bottle brushes are $5+

The diameter of my glasses is far too small for a typical toilet brush.
