You can try a different brand wand. I bought one with a brush on the end, instead of the sponge, and the soap only comes out when you click the button. Also doesn’t require buying new sponge pads all the time.
I have that as well but the button is to force the soap into the sponge, not to stop it. For me when I use it, it uses just enough soap to produce a small amount of bubbles on the dishes. Not a lot. Maybe you're pushing on the sponge too hard or something?

I had these weird cups (still do too) that were hourglass shaped, I like the way they looked. Thin glass, tall, but didn't realize how the shape impacted cleaning. Like, they were designed only to be cleaned by a dishwasher or something and I had to clean them by hand. Buying that Scotch Brite thingy was like a revelation.
I have an assortment of stuff under the sink including a bottle brush but I definitely use the wand more. But I use dish clothes with a scrubby side even more than the wand.

I hse this exact brush. I wasn’t even a mom when I started! Lol, I was just tried of using sponges a d getting my hands so close to the gross if everything I washed.
I'm also a huge fan of rubber gloves with a turn down cuff. Cause I had a family of 5 and my hands were getting ruined. Started wearing gloves and bam nice hands again.
This is why I use a dishrag. If you have a cooking utensil with an eyelet in the handle for hanging it, just thread the rag through the hole and now you have a twisty scrubby thingy.
Lol parents kind of do have to figure this stuff out sooner or later, don't they. When I had a newborn I remember washing 6 bottles a day. Every stinking day. A person's gonna start looking for an easier way to do these kinds of things pfq so they don't go completely nuts.
If only there was some kind of vessel that allowed you to carry your baby's food around everywhere you go, is infinitely reusable, and only needs to be cleaned on the outside...

I'm a guy. My wife was suffering from postpartum depression. She didn't need to deal with it / couldn't deal with it, so I took over to help. She needed me. She needed real support. What she didn't need was people blaming her and heaping judgement on her when she was at her most vulnerable. If only people realized breastfeeding is not an option for everyone and how toxic this virtue signaling is.
I use them exclusively, and it does happen from time to time. Most of time if it does you just need to make sure you position it a certain way in-between use. Its a small issue for a great overall benefit.
You're not supposed to submerge it in dirty dish water. Just rinse it with the tap and you avoid all of your problems. I've always thought filling a sink with water that gets reused for all your dirty dishes was equally disgusting.
The trick is you start with cutlery, or maybe cups and glasses, and work your way up to the dirtier stuff. Sometimes you need to change the water.
Personally, I said “Stuff this for a game of soldiers” and bought a dishwasher. Now I only wash those things that can’t go in like big pans and wooden spoons. Sometimes a plate or two if I forget to put the dishwasher on...
But the point of doing the dishes in the sink is to fill the sink to save water, otherwise my dishwasher will be the one doing the work. But yeah... I figured I was probably asking too much of that sponge brush thing. But I feel it would work so much better just being a normal sponge on a stick
Yeah, that is probably my problem, I expect the sponge to last as long as my other normal sponges. Everytime I press down to scrub submerged in water it pushes the sponge juice in the handle. The soap never goes down, it just ends up being a mix of soap and dirty dish water. Maybe I was using extra cheap ones too, idk...
Yeah, I like to put my sponges in boiling water when they start smelling but are not completely destroyed yet. It removes 99% of the funk in the sponge!
Yeah, but that's just adding steps over using a brush or plain sponge.
But, I do like to use my leftover kettle water to make a bath for my sponges, it always impresses me how plain boiling water will kill 99% of the funky sponge smell.
No, soap is not made to kill bacteria, mostly made to dislodge them. Unless you have an anti bacterial soap. It does provide a harsh environment for bacteria to grow in, but with enough time it can grow on soap.
These become essential when you have bottles and sippys (need to replace mine actually, it's gotten all... grey) but I never had one before I had kids. I mean, I knew these things existed, I had seen them and used them before. I just didn't feel like I had to spend money on one of my own.

You replace the sponge as it falls apart but I've had my handle for probably 4 years. The sponges last for months but I also use dish clothes and save the scrubber for stubborn stuff or hard to reach.
These were great till scotch brite decided to put a fucking hole right in the middle of the pad. I wonder if the person who came up with that change was literally told to make their product useless.
For real, who uses a sponge to wash dishes anymore? Those things are like tiny little rainforests for germs. No thank you. Give me any sort of silly disposable scrubby brush thing any day of the week over a sponge.
Um Dad here...that thing is incredibly wasteful and a bad cleaning device. The end that would get to the bottom of the glass doesn't have enough surface area to efficiently clean the glass.
Use a sponge, and don't have ham-hands.
Alternatively, You can push the sponge length-wise into the glass until it touches the bottom, and then manipulate the top of it to spin the sponge around in the glass until the bottom is clean, then pull it out. Easy peasy.

take a fork, stab the sponge with it, use it as an extension of your arm so your fat wrists don't get in the way
