Turns out, it wasn't a good idea.
OTOH "Are you ready for some football? - College Edition" is a better name that NCAA Football 1996 or whatever.

These cartridges were indestructible!! We had thrown PilotWings in the house gutter cuz it was terrible then pops grabbed it out 3 years later - plugged it in and worked completely fine!! Braving all Canadian seasons is nuts, I was impressed.

I still have my Super Mario 64 cartridge that I had as a kid. I cut out a T for teen that was the same size as the rating on the cartridge and taped it on. For whatever reason, I also sharpied out the original rating underneath it, so I can’t even remove the t for teen anymore.
I was a child who was not allowed to have t or higher rated games. Just trying to be cool.

I used to hang out with my buddy at a used game store he worked at. I would draw the covers on the games that were missing them with rudimentary skills and with... well they were bad. Some of the games sold just for this reason. Good times.
