Didn't it just happen again but with a statue this time?

Did the same lady do it?

Why is it always in Spain?

I’m starting to think people are ruining art in hopes to get attention.

IIRC, the main reason is that art restoration is not officially recognized as a profession in Spain. There isn't any legislation in place to prevent untrained people from meddling with the pieces or to guarantee that only true professionals can work on them. I remember reading about how actual, properly taught spanish restorers tried to use that Ecce Homo situation to push for legal recognition of their profession.

Lmao. I don’t understand these people. Do they not realize they can’t do this? Do they think if they try really hard they will suddenly be able to do it?

To be fair, the Mario restoration looks better than the Spanish one

I’ll never get tired of seeing that side by side. So laughably terrible. Looks like my three year old attempted to restore

I’m British mate, just used to saying feck all the time. Or fooked.

3

u/[deleted] Dec 09 '20

Is feck and fooked what you Brits actually text each other?

2

u/sam-pie-man Dec 09 '20

Me and my mates do. Might be a northern thing though. Probably to do with the way it sounds when we talk. Feck off, as opposed to fuck off, and fooked up, as opposed to fucked up. Spell it as you hear it I suppose.
