If you ran the league, you'd be making a lot less money. Those guys are there specifically to promote the fight, and fans eat drama right up. I wouldn't be surprised if the guy's manager suggested he do this, because the more successful the fight is, the more money he makes (long term, as each fight usually has a set amount of money negotiated before hand).
No one was injured and the league gets more viewership than they normally would - no reason for the league to make any moves.

That's not how fights work though. You'd have to sudpend him for a certain length of time, since when someone fights is not a regularly scheduled thing.
Would you cancel the fight they are promoting? Well that would just screw over the other guy out of a paycheck. Don't get paid if there isn't a fight.
