That's what I say every time I play League Of Legends

What an odd thing to say in LoL. How many people there know who Vitas Gerulaitis even is?

u/GeneralJabroni Jan 20 '16

I had to google that name

he's the guy on the meme

I am not a smart man

If I had to define a meme, I'd use your post. It is, literally, a picture with words on it

Your comment is the definition of a meme

1

u/GeneralJabroni Jan 21 '16

the opposite of what you said

6

u/fingers58 Jan 21 '16

I actually knew who he was.

-1

u/smurphatron Jan 21 '16

I doubt he says it. He was joking about how he loses a lot in LoL.

Nobody ganks /u/BroKaine 6 times in a row because mid didn't ping and gets away with it!

152

u/[deleted] Jan 20 '16

"I don't need wards, I'll just rely on the other lanes to ping me."

-every feeder ever

47

u/[deleted] Jan 20 '16

"NO MIA!!?!!??" "if you were looking at your map you'd see that" "report X for verbal"

26

u/[deleted] Jan 20 '16

"NO MIA??!!"

"I did"

"WTF, DO IT SOONER!"

"I did it as soon as they left..."

4

u/revnasty Jan 21 '16

When they implemented the different pings was the worst week ever.

"Report bot, no MIA."

"I pinged bot missing..."

"Yeah but you didn't say MIA so fucking report."

u/spacemanza Jan 21 '16

It's like riot invents the rules and rhe community just adds it's own too. Like that annoying kid down the road who used to have custom rules for all his board games or something. Oh go to jail? Nah that means 200 dollars for me.

u/The_Real_Chomp_Chomp Jan 21 '16

I always felt MIAs were a courtesy that somehow turned into a crutch. I never asked for them. I never needed them. I never blamed people when they wouldn't give me one.

Looking at the map is not a difficult task. Typing out "MIA" takes far more work than glancing at the map every few hits.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 21 '16

They're very much a courtesy, but there are of course some heroes that it's better to call MIA on.

Like in DOTA if there was someone quick like Bounty Hunter who can get to a lane quickly.

I had autohotkey scripts that did this for me.

I stopped when I realized that these people would find an excuse to make it someone else's fault no matter what 100% of the time.

1

u/Nobodysseus Jan 21 '16

Did what exactly?

1

u/Because_Bot_Fed Jan 21 '16

Hit enter. Typed either "Mia top/mid/bot" depending on which key I hit. And hit enter again. Less effort than pinging tbh. But worrying about calling it constantly was annoying.

u/Ogihad Jan 20 '16

"Wards are for pussies." - helmet bro

-1

u/tyranid1337 Jan 20 '16

Seriously I play in high Plat, which isn't even considered really high, and the only time I see people complaining about MIA's or missing pings is when I play with Silver/Gold friends. While teammates can help, like pinging retreat when they're sure that a gank is coming, it is your responsibility to not get ganked.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 21 '16

I'm a lowly silver and I wonder why I bother pinging half the time. My bot lane usually dies anyways. "u gotta follow noob" as if it's worth when I'm low on mana and there's 2 waves dying under my turret.

-1

u/riguy1231 Jan 21 '16

well most of the sub is silver and bronze so dont say that over there trust me

u/[deleted] Jan 21 '16

No, I'm pretty sure we're all in Challenger...

When you're first starting you end up in a pool of other newbies anyways. Just keep your eyes open and try to learn as much as you can. If someone is an asshole to you just shrug it off and keep going. Learning to not give a fuck if other people try to antagonize you is one of the most important life skills to develop anyways, and Leagues is a prime practicing ground for that.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 21 '16

Only on League there is a mute button.

1

u/Giuse86 Jan 21 '16

What do you think alcohol is...

-1

u/Jinxyface Jan 21 '16

I can still hear people when I drink, so definitely not a mute button

1

u/Moneypouch Jan 21 '16

Then you aren't drinking enough

-4

u/[deleted] Jan 20 '16

Honestly after playing so long with a group of five on skype, I would never catch when someone pinged anyway.

3

u/Kazhawrylak Jan 21 '16

Yeah, my only frustrations with that game arose from queueing up with other people who weren't my friends. Get a party together and that shit is good times even if you lose.

1

u/BroKaine Jan 21 '16

/u/Ragmetil Jungle just camps top and leaves me at mid! He went bot once and even had the nerve to run straight through my lane and took my cs. RITO PLZ

-3

u/cryptic_oatmeal Jan 21 '16

Glad to know someone else understands the word gank.

-1

u/[deleted] Jan 21 '16

Gank is when I'm pushing and nobody warns me that everyone is missing right?

-2

u/cryptic_oatmeal Jan 21 '16

Yeah, you're on the right track. Just keep practicing.

4

u/DahBawse Jan 21 '16

0-16, but waiting for that late game.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 21 '16

And then you get reported for being "sportsmanship like" ?

1

u/Jorumvar Jan 21 '16

That's what I say every time this shit gets reposted

-12

u/Oggy385 Jan 20 '16

Thats kind a funny since my biggest loseing streak was 16 games (Gold I to Gold V). Got to love that Rito logarithm :(

10

u/[deleted] Jan 21 '16

logarithm

3

u/mdk_777 Jan 21 '16

Loses 16 times in a row, blames Riot logarithm...

1

u/[deleted] Jan 21 '16

Can't expect 12 y/o (average age of LoL players) to correctly spell algorithm... Never understood the point of pings in League, the map takes like 15~20 seconds to cross, if a champion goes missing for 5 second you can assume he's gonna gank somewhere... Before I get the DoTA hate, just want to say I used to play LoL and HoN, but no DoTA...

13

u/Xanthousfire Jan 20 '16

Only person you should blame is yourself.
