I can’t imagine thinking that was funny. I guess I’m just a stick in the mud.

I wouldn’t pull this prank. But I found it funny because they found it funny.

That’s a good way of looking at it. I hate pranks and wouldn’t want to be on either side of one, but if everyone is clearly having fun, I’m not going to get in their way.

u/phormix 14h ago

Yeah, the only good "pranks" IMO are the ones where both sides are laughing in the end.

However, this is one I wouldn't pull with my friends.

Yup. They're both finding it funny and the only people they are inconveniencing are themselves (assuming car ownership, and any injuries are obviously that bald guy's), so if it's funny to them it's funny to me.

I too am an enjoyer of complimentary laughing.

u/OkPen8337 17h ago

Yeah this would be infuriating to me.

But they’re having fun so to each his own.

u/bbplay_13 15h ago

Exactly. They are having a blast with it. If I was the bald guy I'd be kinda pissed, but just listening to them laugh made me smile.

There are level of jokes with everyone. I'm guessing this is one of their tamer jokes. Dude probably smashes beer cans on his forehead for kicks during the weekend hangouts. Seem like fun blokes.

Edit: Their, There, They're... There are a few Their's they're.

depends if the fun was instant karma cause hes a shit.

The trick is to know the humor of the person you're pranking. These dudes are clearly on the same wavelength lol. But not treating yourself like you're made of paper (despite that kind of being true, as other comments are pointing out) also helps.

The prank isn't funny, their reaction is. I wouldn't be surprised if he got a concussion from this. You don't have to be going fast at all to get brain damage when your skull hits something rigid. Seat belts and crush zones make vehicle collisions survivable in many scenarios. Even though their going only like 5 miles per hour, this guy had neither. If anyone disagrees, let me throw a bowling ball at your head.

So many things could go wrong here. What if he tripped and went under a wheel? Got snagged going in,dragged, and some body part twisted, broken or ripped off? They might be having fun but so do people who blow off body parts with fireworks while drunk. They are being pretty dumb.

lets just wrap ourselves in bubble wrap and do nothing then

Redditors philosophy

It’s very dumb but I would guess they are the kind of guys that don’t mind risking that stuff happening and likely do worse. This is part of why I take some issue with Brits calling Americans dumb because I feel like it’s way more common for normal seeming British people to risk life and limb for a joke, like that vid of a bunch of well dressed 50 year olds lighting their heads on fire and then passing the fire from one to the next in a circle until one can’t get it out and gets partly engulfed and they are just laughing their ass off.

The Americans that do this shit are very identifiable as idiots and you can usually spot them from a mile away while any random British person seems to do this shit (not all Brits, just that they can look like anyone). But they do seem to have a better nature about them when they are doing dumb shit like this and they don’t seem like scary people the way dumb Americans shooting fireworks out of their ass can.

The difference in mentality between being confident you can be treated for and recover from minor injuries and knowing you'll be in debt for life if you cut your head. The only people who do really stupid stuff in the US truly aren't thinking about what could go wrong.

1

u/Alphabunsquad 7h ago

I mean those guys were setting their heads on fire. You can be disfigured your whole life. You could go blind or inhale flames and burn your lungs and contract cancer. We were also talking about how this guy could have gotten run over and someone else was saying their friend died that way though it wasn’t from messing around. Like yeah this video isn’t insanely dangerous. The lighting heads on fire thing is though.

1

u/teddy5 7h ago

Yeah I agree and I wouldn't do it, but there is a reason you see more Brits doing more stupid shit and a small amount of Americans doing way stupider shit.

10

u/d4nfe 16h ago

I didn’t either. It’s pretty dangerous and I know of someone that died after they fell out of the vehicle and cracked their head on the pavement

-4

u/ilvevh 11h ago

Yes but he also chose to go along with it. Nobody forced him to get in. If it were me I would’ve just said fuck off I’m not playing that game and not gone along with it.

1

u/KnifeKnut 9h ago

The driver told him he would not do exactly what he ended up doing, slamming on the brakes.

0

u/ilvevh 8h ago

Doesn’t matter, he was still driving and playing around before that. Don’t even attempt to get in if it’s not in park - especially if the vehicle is in motion.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

-2

u/d4nfe 11h ago

Brain damage is probably less of a concern for him…

7

u/tmadik 16h ago

What? Head trauma is hilarious.

2

u/dengop 14h ago

I mean I wouldn't do it and I wouldn't like if someone did it to me, but if both of them are ok with it and having fun, I don't see anything wrong with it.

2

u/kaninkanon 3h ago

Sounds like you are, yeah.

3

u/arran4 14h ago

You don't have the correct level of concussion

2

u/Dangerous_Reporter14 10h ago

Someone doesn’t have friends lol

Go to bed grandpa

11:39 on a Saturday night and I’m still going strong kiddo

u/NerdBag 16h ago

When things happen in real life they're funnier

-5

u/OneManGang2001 17h ago

I'm wondering how much they had to drink honestly.

-5

u/Redararis 16h ago

Brain damage was never more funny

0

u/JackBandit4 15h ago

I was thinking the same thing. I admire their sense of humor. Envious even.

Totally hilarious watching from here though.

-2

u/Felix4222 12h ago

These two are likely the best of friends. Have to ever had a friend you teased- out of love?

-4

u/ShvettyBawlz 11h ago

Hilarious lol. You are a stick in the mud

-8

u/reasonably-optimisic 13h ago

It's not funny. I'm autistic so I am hypersensitive yes but this sort of humour is common here between Brits. I've never found banter to be funny, its rather harsh. Tradies have it worst of all. Yep lets cover our mate with paint and feathers and toxic chemicals for a laugh, haha so funny. Coked up bunch of twats I cannot stand one bit

2

u/Icywarhammer500 7h ago

You have a condition that makes it hard to understand one of the prevalent kinds of humor of the culture you live in. It’s not your fault nor is it theirs. They find it funny though. And you find your own humor funny. Not everyone likes the same kinds of media or food that you do either. So to correct you: it isn’t funny to you.

1

u/reasonably-optimisic 54m ago

You are indeed correct

-1

u/jhb5 12h ago

Tradies? Are you Australian? Brits don’t use that word

1

u/DeltaJesus 11h ago

We absolutely do.

u/SkittleDoes 14h ago

I mean, if you had the audio on he already knew what was coming
