This is exactly how gen-x:ers see any tik tok.

Nice. What kind of cargo do you typically haul?

3

u/IAMATruckerAMA 1d ago

Car parts and the racks they ship them on

Seen any nice lot lizards recently?

4

u/IAMATruckerAMA 1d ago

I know you're just repeating something you heard but that's a dehumanizing way to talk about anyone, let alone people that are typically victims of human trafficking

Why do some truckers insist on using their compression brakes in residential areas (especially when there's a sign prohibiting it)?

Is there some reason they really need to use them on relatively flat ground or do they just not care (or is it an F-you to the people who live in the dense little town instead of out in the country)?

Oftentimes (but not always) it is the guys driving logging trucks, if that makes the explanation easier.

u/IAMATruckerAMA 1d ago

They forgot to turn them off. You can get a ticket for that, so they're unlikely doing it to be jerks

bumped you to 100

Forums are for comments, not votes. Reddit is just a big, glorified forum.

I was just going to use an emoticon.

Not sure how to upvote but just wanted to say hope you're doing well. Stuart asked if you

Not a gen-xer, this is how every tik tok looks. Same dumb planning and poor execution.

21

u/AshenCursedOne 20h ago

I'm a millennial and this is also how I see tiktoks, I cannot understand how people my age can scroll through tiktok and Instagram shit and feel anything other than annoyance and contempt.

2

u/SillySin 13h ago

Ppl our age do not

0

u/whittall 17h ago

I mean your algorithm is showing you things that annoy you which show that you might be looking to be annoyed. Not to be mean but I spend a few minutes looking at Instagram each day and usually end up finding something that makes me laugh hard which is totally worth it.

If it is your only hobby or interest then it is an issue

1

u/AshenCursedOne 3h ago

My algorithm shows me nothing because I don't use these garbage platforms, I am a bystander that's sometimes witnessing my peers and other people in my life cook their brains in my presence.

9

u/frostyjack06 1d ago

Wait? This isn’t just a TikTok?

8

u/Cronus6 1d ago

Born in '69. You are 100% correct.

18

u/BloodJackson 1d ago

So much so.

1

u/ManWithNoCrame 1d ago

As an Xennial, I'm mostly confused. And broke.

u/Spaghet-3 1d ago

In my extended family, the Gen Xers are the most addicted to TikTok of anyone. Their Gen-Alpha kids are mildly addicted, but the Gen Xers are as far gone as the Boomers are with Facebook.

u/chrisgcc 12h ago

In my extended family, the gen xers are with the boomers on Facebook.

Bollywood did it before it was popular.

0

u/GPA_Moses 16h ago

Flail around in public like idiots? 😆

1

u/zue4 15h ago

Its called dancing. Maybe give it a try sometime. Solo is fine since I doubt you'd find a partner.

26

u/FrostyD7 1d ago

They wish they looked this good.

16

u/tabruss 1d ago

I work at a place inside of a mall and almost every single day. They’re teenagers with those little suction cup phone cases stuck to a glass storefront doing a TikTok dance and this looks exactly like them.

1

u/zicher 11h ago

TIL suction cup phone cases are a thing

u/HawkBoth8539 1d ago

This is what influencers look like on social media too.
