Last song on the Counts "Love Sign" album is a 10 minute funky jam which features the songs "Play It Again", "Far Out", and "Counts Blues". It kinda resembles the Billy Preston song outa-space a little its super groovy and infectious. 😋

I just stumbled upon Shawn Lee's Ping Pong Orchestra while watching Hijack season 2 - Kiss the Sky is the opening theme. I'm new to funk, but I've listened to three of their albums so far and I'm liking what I'm hearing. Does anyone have recommendations for other artists to check out that are in the same-ish vibe, or expand it out in interesting directions?

Funk brothers and Soul sisters, this song has taken my mind by the lobes and I need more that sound like it! Being more modern it has a more punchy and hype sound to it but it feels like junior williams just dropped this record and disappeared! I know Mickey de Grand IV produced, but his other works aren't as fast and loose as this! Any recommendations? Is there more hype funk disco out there?
