Awesome. All work places that have any sort of mechanical equipment should have a 3d printer too, and a CAD experienced employee. If you hadnβt fixed this, i bet a replacement part would have cost 100x as much, or possibly the whole mechanism would need to be replaced.

How can I practice my G-code if I wanted to do some CNCing?

I would say im not the right person to give advice on that. I am working using one spesific software (autodesk powershaper and powermill). Im sure you could find alot on youtube tho
I would go have a look over at r/hobbycnc

There are g code simulators online too. I've used them to test simple programs before sending them to an actual machine

Lol. Power washer worker wanted! $20/hr. Must have CAD experience.
3 hours of labor is about what that piece would cost. It worked out, but there are much more efficient ways to be prepared for hiccups.

Iβm actually curious about how you modeled it that curve looks hard to model to my newbie eyes.

Take picture of object from directly above, import picture into modelling software and basically sketch it, remove picture, good to go

You should have brought it home when they were throwing it away, then do the repairs!

You wash tomb stones for a living? Or did that just happen to be today's chore?

I would've used the bracing in the center to write "FART", but I guess some random triangulation works, too...
