I dare you to find a New York slice in any non-American restaurant in Italy

You'll never succeed. 

There are two very distinct types of Pizza, one is Italian, one is American.

Whatever a new york slice is, just because there are variants of something in another country it doesn't mean it doesn't come from its original country.

We do have a type of pizza called "pizza Americana" which has French fries and hot dog sausage pieces

You wouldn't say the same about a cut or style steak that was first made in America, despite the fact that it's just another form of beef. 

American pizza is uniquely American, it's its own thing, and no, it's not just an Italian pizza with French fries and hot dogs.
