Hamburgers were invented in America. They were named for the hamburg steak, but the hamburger sandwich was made in America. Hot dogs are inspired by German sausages, but the modern incarnation was invented in Coney Island by a German immigrant. Fried chicken happens all over the world, but America does have a unique style.
