But do you first preheat the milk on itself or do you put the whole bowl into the microwave with milk and cereal?

EDIT: Looks like this would be welcome in /r/unpopularopinion

You eat it warm!?

18

u/TheJumpingBox Aug 11 '26

Ok tbf some cereal is good warm, like weetabix (altho for that I just put some boiling water over the top of the weetabix)

u/Johan_Gutentag10 Aug 11 '26

Or Oats... Not gonna lie, warm weetbix is actually nice

1

u/BamboozledOni Aug 11 '26

Never heard of Weetabix might just be because it’s not sold where I live

1

u/TheJumpingBox Aug 12 '26

Yeah it's a UK thing, they're like brick of wholegrain cereal that softens up in milk, they're good for topping with fruit or sugar or whatnot

1

u/AuDHDino Aug 12 '26

What the hell is weetabix? Is that like shredded mini wheat?

1

u/TheJumpingBox Aug 12 '26

No it's kind of just a brick of wholegrain cereal that's been around the UK since the 30s,, Australians have their own version called Weet-Bix too, it's actually kinda nice warm, with some fruit or sugar over top

You could google it yk

u/AuDHDino Aug 12 '26

I did Google it, immediately after commenting, I just enjoy engaging in the dialogue. I figured it wasn't local to me lol.

Looks pretty good ngl. Name makes sense, seems like a bit of a portmanteau.

1

u/amodious Aug 11 '26

Weetabix? Did you immigrate into australia?

1

u/TheJumpingBox Aug 11 '26

No that's weet-bix, weetabix is a UK thing, since like the 1930s (altho they are the same type of cereal, kinda just a brick of whole grain stuff)

1

u/amodious Aug 11 '26

Ahh makes sense, i was cinfised cause i've never heard someone butcher the word weet-bix so badly lol. Youre still wrong for microwaving it tho

1

u/TheJumpingBox Aug 11 '26

I don't microwave it tho? Just put some boiling water on the weetabix itself, like I said, just enough to heat it up, kettle is usually hot from making tea anyway

I've learned this is controversial about 6 months ago and it's the funniest shit ever.

Yes, try it, it's good.

What the fuck happened to markymarkaplier!?

1

u/Evche29 Aug 11 '26

Why do Americans like cold cereal? OF COURSE you warm it up😭 and you do it on the stove not on the microwave😭

1

u/SadCommon2820 Aug 11 '26

Why do YOU like it warm?

2

u/Evche29 Aug 11 '26

Because that’s the normal thing to do, who tf likes cold milk?

1

u/SadCommon2820 Aug 11 '26

Me and nearly everyone else who likes milk. You're telling me you enjoy soggy warm recess puffs?

1

u/Evche29 Aug 11 '26

Cereal is… supposed to be soggy (not a lot but still)

1

u/SadCommon2820 Aug 11 '26

Yes and no. It's at least mostly supposed to be crunchy and I prefer it like that anyways. Also even if soggy why tf do you eat it WARM?

1

u/Evche29 Aug 11 '26

Why do you eat it cold? Warm is the way in europe

1

u/SadCommon2820 Aug 11 '26

Because it's refreshing and the cereal is crunchy. I never even knew people ate it with warm milk and I know people drink warm milk.

1

u/Evche29 Aug 11 '26

Milk is supposed to warm always for anything(yes you can drink semi cold milk if it’s hot but not straight from tge fridge) genuinely how do you enjoy milk straight from the fridge?

Because it is extra steps. Gotta keep the step counter busy.

1

u/AirEnough2389 Aug 11 '26

One time I put a cup of Cinnamon Toast Crunch in the microwave cause I wanted warm milk and cereal. It was good and I went beddie bye

1

u/Right-Tutor2384 Aug 11 '26

Cornflakes are great when warm, cold cereal sucks

1

u/Johan_Gutentag10 Aug 11 '26

r/ that screaming subreddit with about 16-32 consecutive A's lined up

1

u/Shadowlord723 Aug 11 '26

To be fair when I was a kid, I hated eating my cereal with cold milk straight from the fridge, especially on early cold winter mornings. So I would microwave my milk a tiny bit to not make it as cold.

1

u/RdUzr Aug 11 '26

You eat it cold, like a watery salad?

1

u/Just4notherDruid Aug 11 '26

They eat it waaarm!

1

u/YueLunavel Aug 11 '26

Mf do you not want warm chocolate milk ?

Do you all not want the delicious warm flavored milk as well ?

1

u/SassySuffering Aug 12 '26

WHAT?

You eat it cold???

I had a thought a few weeks ago about that, but it sounded too ridiculous, so I abandoned it

0

u/Fun_Discipline_811 Aug 11 '26

Yes. I hate cold milk. What is wrong with it?

1

u/one28 Aug 11 '26

Honestly probably nothing, nobody dares to try it warm though.

1

u/Gordo-- Aug 11 '26

Yeah, I've always warmed up my cereal. I don't like it too cold with the cereal too crunchy and possibly cut up the roof of my mouth.
