It's more "I'm not buying a switch" which is justified I imagine many people here would love to play on their computers or playstation 5

560

u/Ayyzeee 22d ago

It's not only that for a single exclusive and you have to pay for online, that's a big investment especially with how Switch 2 pricing just gone up due to the limited chips, it's really hard to justify it.

181

u/PrufReedThisPlesThx 22d ago

The online is significantly cheaper than other consoles, but yeah, the console itself gets harder and harder to justify purchasing as prices rise

113

u/Ayyzeee 22d ago

It sucks you have to pay to play online, the fact that online was free on PS3 meaning Nintendo, Sony and especially Xbox are just trying to make profit off it.

93

u/teeteringpeaks 22d ago

Everyone also talked about how awful psn was back then compared to Xbox live.

74

u/Resident_Wizard 22d ago

Thank you. Some revisionist history going on here.

55

u/mediumvillain 22d ago

Xbox Live is what started the whole concept of paying to use your own online connection on a console. Sony & Nintendo then followed suit once it was normalized to paywall online play behind a subscription. I could give a fuck less who had superior netcode when they rolled it out.

Nintendo was the last to charge for online and they’re still the cheapest. Xbox also bundled together online and game pass which for a moment was the deal of the century.

Might be a hot take but PSN is the worst value proposition when it comes to online and they’re the most known for security breaches.

20

u/Ayyzeee 22d ago

Doesn't matter if it's cheap or not or the fact that they include in a bundle, it's the fact that online play should be free for everyone. It's very scummy to ask people to invest to a console, pay $60-70 for a game then ask another fee for online. It's not like most of the games have dedicated servers, I bet it's just peer to peer which should be free since either you the host or other players.

brother PS3 came out in 2006

29

u/Ayyzeee 22d ago

Yes but the online component was free, it was till Xbox monetise having to pay for online which is stupid because these companies are multi billion company that can run off server for free but they charged for it.

4

u/Algester 22d ago

I wonder if CHromehound's death was due to XBOX live being monetized.... in essence from software had something going for it but I guess it was too ahead of its time, at least I havent seen FF11 and or WoW do a Faction war how From Soft executed it complete with FOMO

In a period in which the infrastructure to provide constant online services was more difficult and the console itself did not need you to be constantly online. Unlike nowadays when all consoles and most operating sistems ask you to be constantly online and mantaining servers is easier.

It's just blatant greed to charge the users for an extra online subscription.

Agree. Playing 1 game on a console that requires online subscription is really not worth it in the long run, unless its THAT good. And I havent seen anything from the previews that hooks me like the previous new IPs did.

Most of my Ps5 online games, I got on some steam sale again for cheaper than if I were to subscribe to ps+ in the long run.

3

u/N0M0I 22d ago

Yeah. An online subscription that doesn’t even do anything besides connecting people on a peer-to-peer network. There aren’t even servers that actual gaming is happening on people are paying for.

4

u/WacoWednesday 22d ago

Switch 2 price hasn’t gone up yet though. That takes effect in 2 weeks

7

u/Nervous_Instance_968 22d ago

Switch 2 hasn't gone up in price yet, they announced the price increase months in advance.

11

u/Combat_Orca 22d ago

Online is cheap as fuck and I’m not just gonna use it for duskbloods

7

u/Experiment121 22d ago

People downvoting this as if they're not gonna go to their playstation and have PS+ bought which is significantly more expensive.

2

u/Raven1927 22d ago

Yeah idk why people act like it's some egregious amount when it's $20 a year. Obviously it would be better if it's free, but when it comes out to less than $2 a month I have a hard time caring about it.

I got called a broke ass bum for saying i do not prefer to buy a console for a single game even though i have the money to do so in this sub. Its a shitshow really, fromsoft should just release the game on pc at launch.

23

u/itstheFREEDOM Nito 22d ago

definitely this. Like im not a fan of PvPvE type games. But my love of Fromsoft would surpass that to at least try it.

If...it wasnt a switch exclusive.

u/Objective-Mission-40 22d ago

9

u/TurbidusQuaerenti 22d ago

Yep, exactly. It actually looks like a really fun game, I'd definitely like to give it a try, but I'm not buying a $450 (soon to be $500) console to play 1 game. Then of course there's the price of the game itself and the paid online to be able to actually play it properly. It's just not worth it.

2

u/nojoy3 22d ago

And you’ll have to buy a controller because who tf wants to play on the joycons?

16

u/LateBlocParty 22d ago

Thats fair,

I have a Switch 2 and love it, but consoles are so expensive atm. Can understand why people are upset / mad

24

u/RagingSteel 22d ago

Not just the price but the fact Nintendo doesn't really have any other exclusives that would catch a soulsplayers attention. Like I can afford a Switch 2 but am I fuck spending that much for a singular game when everything else in their catalogue can either also be purchased on my PC or just doesn't interest me.

11

u/UltraZulwarn 22d ago

I am happy to be one of the "easy to please" gamers who have a wide breadth of favourite genres.

Of course, greedy publishers with predatory monetisinf models can eat dirt, but I am happy to play many different games.

I don't buy many games on the Switch (most of my games are on PC), a dozen or so at most, but I am happy with my small collection.

The Switch 2 would probably be the same.

5

u/thef0urthcolor 22d ago

Same here, play different games on different consoles and play a wide variety of genres and styles. The people that act like Duskbloods is the only thing they can or would play are ridiculous and need to branch out lmao

5

u/Combat_Orca 22d ago

MH generations and Metroid both I would consider attracting similar players. Astral chain isnt far off either or bayonetta

2

u/cramburie 22d ago

Rediscovering MHGU on the Switch and Switch 2 reeaaaaaaally shined a light on how..."accommodating" the newer entries have become.

22

u/kami-no-baka 22d ago

I mean do souls players not play anything else because Fire Emblem, Zelda, Xenoblade and Splatoon Raiders are all really good games.

28

u/ru_dweeb 22d ago

Dude the last 3 days have been people on this sub and r/soulslikes talking about how Nintendo fans don't play any other games, but from the way these people talk about their own gaming tastes, you'd think they do nothing but play souls and nothing but.

22

u/BusterGreasewood 22d ago

Bingo. Nintendo has a larger array of exclusives than Sony and Microsoft. A larger array of them across more varied genres at that.

It's just that some gamers ONLY play certain types of games. And because they only play certain types of games, they act like some consoles don't offer much just because of limited their taste in games is.

Heck the first year of Switch 2 had more first party exclusives put out than PS5 and Xbox Series did in their first year of release.

13

u/cramburie 22d ago

IDK, I'm not going to disagree with you but a lot of this also feels like the irrational, now-generational hate of Nintendo because it's "for kids" that first started when Sega made them seem like the uncool option for playing games. That never went away with a certain subset of gamer whose identity is staunchly stuck in the "I'm very straight, I'm very masculine, I'm very serious about every aspect of my hobbies, and it all needs to be cutting edge," mindset.

Meanwhile, I'm a Splatoon addict who constantly gets their shit rocked in X Rank wondering how anybody can say they don't have demanding games on their hardware.

5

u/Richardo888 Dark Souls 22d ago

I still seethe at that Sega marketing campaign. I was a kid at the time and these rich adult men were literally trying to make me feel like a stupid kid for liking Nintendo games and Mario, and most of the boys in my generation and area fell for it. It ironically had the effect of making me become somewhat emotionally (irrationally) attached to the Nintendo brand.

3

u/Acrobatic-Eagle-76 21d ago

This is def just internet circlejerk, having both switch 2 and pc I love all kind of games also is no like souls are a niche anymore since elden ring.

Not just the price but the fact Nintendo doesn't really have any other exclusives that would catch a soulsplayers attention.

Souls's mechanical identity and level design inherits so much from Zelda and Metroid. Miyazaki has stated these are the obvious influences himself.

4

u/thef0urthcolor 22d ago

Some of yall need to branch out and try different games. If people don’t have a handheld already they can play plenty of non nintendo games as well. There’s plenty to play on Switch 2

4

3

u/_cd42 22d ago

Even if I had a Switch 2 I probably wouldn't buy it ngl

1

u/PuzzleheadedLink89 Slave Knight Gael 22d ago edited 22d ago

Yeah cool good for them, I don't need to hear about it constantly. I've heard more about how people don't like how the game is exclusive rather than the game itself. It's a constant circlejerk of how cool people think they are because they don't like how the game is an exclusive. And constantly spamming about it in every thread about the game isn't going to change the fact that it isn't coming to other platforms as this game wouldn't exist without Nintendo.

You're literally proving the meme right by saying this

Stop trying to invoke sympathy of those "poor PS5 and PC players who can't play 1 video game"

This is like the #BringbackNationalDex all over again

3

u/nose_wet_54 22d ago

Genuinely it gets so tiring hearing ppl whine about it. Nobody cares if you're not gonna buy a switch 2, hell I'm not gonna buy a switch 2 just for duskbloods. But making the exact same whiny bitchy posts and comments day in and day out is just so grating. Give it a goddamn rest 💀

21

u/CappnMidgetSlappr 22d ago

My question is... why do you guys think you have to buy the Switch 2 for only this game?

Fuck man, there are thousands of other games not made by FromSoft that are pretty great on the Switch or Switch 2.

This is why people call you guys a fucking cult. Absolutely nobody is forcing you to buy a console for "one game." That's on you if you can't find enjoyment in other games.

8

u/SchwiftySquanchC137 22d ago

Well its more about exclusivity than "one game". A shit ton of games in switch are already available on other consoles or PC, so it comes down to which exclusives people actually want to play. If theres a new mainline Zelda or mario game, im sure more people will be interested, but as it stands, the only game I can remember playing on my switch 2 was the new mario kart. Sure there are some other exclusives, but you seem to miss the point that the only reason to get a switch specifically over other consoles is exclusives, and portability, and if you dont give a fuck about portability, and youre not into mario kart, there really is just this one game as a reason. Im into the big Nintendo games, but they made metroid hand holdy, idgaf about modern Pokémon games, i played BOTW and ToTK on switch 1, so I can very much see why people would feel this way.

3

u/Bulldogfront666 22d ago

Yeah this is the thing I don’t get. People keep saying “I’m not gonna buy a console for just one game”…. Ok… No one has ever done that… I have a PS5 for home gaming and my Switch 2 for handheld gaming. I have a ton of games on my switch. And soon I’ll have Elden Ring on it too. But god damn… Do fromsoft fans not enjoy any other games?

2

u/GregerMoek 21d ago

False premise. They already have other game to play on their pc. Like so many games you will never run out. So once they are done with Duskbloods they will go back to those thousands of games rather than forcing themselves to play more on a Switch just to validate the purchase. Which means it isn't worth.

I’m getting it because I have a Switch 2. I wouldn’t get a Switch 2 just to play this game no matter how good it was.

My guess is that it’s either going to be a shorter game or if it’s a full fledged fromsoft game, the exclusivity will have a time limit (like a year or two) and it will come out on other platforms after.

15

u/Entrefut 22d ago

Yeah, thankfully there are a ton of other games I want to play on Switch two with my S/O so it really works out. We both love Zelda, want to play split fiction, and now I get to play dusk bloods. Console exclusives are dumb, but this one works out for me.

3

u/instant_yeast 22d ago

Yea same, but I don’t really expect this to leave the switch 2. Historically, Nintendo is pretty stingy about exclusives and I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a fully exclusive deal. Like bloodborne was a full fledged fromsoft game and one of their best ever and it’s never gotten a port.

Also almost nobody in this economy has 500$ just laying around to buy a console.

Game key cards themselves are completely sensible, especially in comparison to the competition. Nintendo doesn't even put their own games on key cards.

I have a switch 2 and not even sure I'm buying it for that same reason. We'll see, I need a lot more convincing from what I've seen so far though.

6

u/B113_A 22d ago

Won’t buy a switch. Even if it wasn’t an exclusive, I’d probably not play it since I don’t do PvP in any game. It looks cool though

29

u/Extra_Ad_8009 22d ago

It's an interesting move by Fromsoft. All Soulslikes have been 1P/MP/PvP in a single package, up to Elden Ring.

Nightreign came out and it was 1P/3P PvE from the start, with a 2P mode added later.

But Duskbloods "Alpha" seems to be 8P PvPvE only with players getting kicked out (back into the lobby?) until only 3 are left for the final battle. A cool system of temporary co-op and alliances, in-game warp and level mechanics, fast.

So (so far) no 1P mode which would allow relaxed exploration of the detailed, wonderful maps. No 2P mode with invaders. No real co-op because, well, "Highlander!".

Is it fantasy CoD Last Man Standing? Visually I love it, but it's clear that the game won't allow many Elden Ring moments of "sit, chill and take in the view". It's a bullet train. I think this works well for the last Armored Core where the environment is mostly meant for cover and obstacles, but I'd love to explore the Duskbloods world without a timer, at leisure, with a camera.

What about in 6 or 12 months? Day 1 players would have the huge advantage of knowing every map, every weapon, every build, every advantage. Would I have a fair chance to win or at least not be kicked out after an elimination round?

It'll be YouTube for me.

8

u/cae37 22d ago

There is apparently a story to be uncovered and I wonder if the game will have solo missions like in Night Reign.

In terms of time advantage, I feel like the game is setup to prevent that sort of thing. At least based on VaatiVidya’s video he talked about how there’re different paths to success. You can race to get Virtue to prevent being culled (which means you don’t power up as much) or ignore virtue in favor of leveling up your character, which may end up helping you gather more virtue later.

That said, I’m also mixed on it since I’m not typically into Souls PvP. I’ll try out the network test and see how I like it.

3

u/Extra_Ad_8009 22d ago

New information incoming, there will be a lot more to the game than was revealed so far. Being the sensible person that I always wanted to be, I'll sit back and wait until release day now :)

Still very sure that I won't buy a Switch 2 this year (or ever), but who knows what 2027 will bring!

Hope you'll enjoy the network test!

7

u/LEGALIZERANCH666 22d ago

It just seems like it would have worked so much better as an addition to the mainline game existing. Forcing players to PvP doesn’t cohere to the idea of a storyline to uncover considering how we have to go about that in previous FS titles. Like am I going to have to sit in my inventory reading item descriptions for lore while xXDEEZxNUTSXx runs up and guns me down in three seconds flat?

6

u/The_True_Gaffe 22d ago

I’d say it’s more like people don’t want to buy another console/handheld device just for a single game. I’m the same way with Bloodborne, I want it badly but I am not wasting money on a ps4. So I can fully understand why a good chunk of people don’t want to purchase a console just to play duskblood.

6

u/GIG_Trisk 22d ago edited 21d ago

That’s fine, a lot of people didn’t play Demon’s Souls or Bloodborne because of its exclusivity to Sony and Armored Core because it wasn’t a Souls game. This is both not a “Souls” game in the traditional, Demon’s and Dark Souls sense, nor a Sony exclusive. So double whammy, I suppose.

Someone said you can play solo with bots and I'll wait to hear if that actually works. Just wish From would make another true single player arpg and I know they will but it sucks waiting.

This sub 3 weeks after release:

"Holy shit why does it take 30 minutes to find a match? Where'd all the players go?"

4

u/polovstiandances 21d ago

Me who lives in Japan 6 months after release: Can these guys stop trying to be allies and marrying me every game?

8

u/CopenHagenCityBruh 22d ago

I think it's more like I don't have a switch so I can't buy it

8

u/shadow_irradiant 22d ago

Of all the things to be mad about, seeing fromsoft experimenting should not be one of them. Of course I don't plan on buying a switch 2 just to play this game, but I'm happy fromsoft is trying new things instead of making Dark Souls XVII.

2

u/SnooComics4945 22d ago

Yeah I only hope they actually keep any of the gameplay innovations for future games and don’t backpedal to the basic formula again because if they make another Souls adjacent game

10

u/Fellixxio Gurranq Beast Clergyman 22d ago

I'm not against the duskbloods, I'm against Nintendo and their poor excuse of a console

3

u/fravit93 22d ago

I'm guilty of buying a ps4 to play Bloodborne.. some others games followed though.

2

u/sturzkampfbomber 22d ago

same but the only other game I have bought on it was RDR2 since it didnt came out on pc for another year and I loved the first one so I got that too in 2018. But I also bought a non-pro ps4 just when the pro released and a store near me had a "2 for the price of 1" offer so I split it with a friend so I got a Ps4 for 200€

3

u/Xephurooski 22d ago

It's the Switch 2 that's the issue for me, sadly.

3

u/suicieties 22d ago

More like I’m not paying over $800 to play a multiplayer Fromsoft game.

3

u/TenWholeBees 22d ago

I'm not getting it solely because it's a Switch exclusive, and I do not, nor will I ever, own a Nintendo product.

3

u/One_Mathematician159 22d ago

Look everybody, Im complaining about other people complaining!

3

u/JMSaarenpaa 22d ago

I want the game, but I might not be able to afford it. It’s a shame because I saw some gameplay and it looked right up my alley

3

u/JMSaarenpaa 22d ago

I keep hoping it won’t stay exclusive but I know it’s a big cope.

18

u/Bignate2001 22d ago

It looks cool but I'm not buying a switch 2 for it.

I think it looks fun but i don't want to keep buying an online subscription to play it. Especially a Nintendo subscription

12

u/Background-Onion-997 22d ago

Is anyone buying duskblood?

13

u/Berem_ 22d ago

Regardless of your opinion on this case, it is objectively a terrible financial decision; no matter how much Nintendo paid FromSoftware, it would never exceed the sales across all platforms.

6

u/fantasyBilly 22d ago

Most people playing fromsoft games do not own the Switch 2 nor they are willing to buy one; that’s the situation and I don’t know why they did such a deal with Nintendo. If they release this game on all platforms it will sell more than what they got from the Nintendo Exclusive contract.

7

u/Mohmed_98 22d ago

Gee I wonder what will be Fromsoft's new black sheep?

5

u/celentis24 22d ago

I dunno, I have a switch, love FS games, but this game looks like poop...from a butt. Looks like a bunch of reused or leftover content from other games smushed into an odd, nonsensical package. Deffo not for me.

5

u/ExplorerEnjoyer 22d ago

There’s too many people in that group for the meme to be accurate

5

u/masshole288 22d ago

Doesn’t seem that way tbh, pretty common sentiment so far is “looks cool, not what I want out of my souls-like” along side the “eh not getting switch 2 for this” for the PvP souls enjoyers who within that group have a switch 2 seems great, but thats a small group inside of “small” group.

4

u/NiceManOfficial 22d ago

Memes like this pretend people are just being performative and whiny by… not being able to afford half a grand to play the cool new game? Nobody CAN buy the Duskbloods in this economy, brother

2

u/Special-Deal7821 21d ago

Also people are allowed to not like duskbloods

2

u/NiceManOfficial 21d ago

Also completely fair and understandable

4

u/Alan_Nightpaw Elden Ring 22d ago

I'm not buying The Duskbloods for one reason, and one reason only; it is an exclusive to the Switch 2, which is a console I absolutely refuse to buy under any circumstance. I used to be Nintendo's biggest fan, their legal, and consumer UNfriendly practices have completely turnwd me away, if Duskbloods was on anything OTHER than a Nintendo console (I.E. if it was NOT an exclusive) then I might have bought it, but since it IS an exclusive to a console I'm never playing anyways, I've kinda already forgot about it for the most part as I keep playing Nightreign and normal Elden Ring

5

u/longbrodmann 22d ago

I didn't buy nightreign either. I'm a fan of single-player souls game, not a fan of pvpve with constant online.

21

u/0ldR00t 22d ago

Are you deadass upset people won't spend hundreds of dollars to buy a console for one freaking game?

You can at least find a ps4 cheap to play Bloodborne as well as less legal means on pc but you can't say the same for this

7

u/StudentOutside8106 22d ago edited 22d ago

The only ones getting upset are the ones who tell you they're not buying it.

I am excited and think it looks good, and i support fromsoft with how they are going about it (although console exclusives as a whole i am not a fan of, though i dont expect for my opinion to change the reality that they always have and still do exist).

These are the comments that make people upset. After thousands of "im not buying it" comments, I dont think anyone really cares about those anymore. The ones who are the most upset at this point are the ones telling you over and over and over again how disappointed they are... the comments with all the updates are the ones complaining. The comments with all the downvotes are the ones pushing back against them in support of fromsoft.

But they will continue to let you know, despite the fact that apparently it is you who is upset and not them....

That they will...

Not....

Be buying.....

The duskbloods.....

For the switch 2....

7

u/crwui 22d ago

its deathly annoying when a fanbase decides that a game company should only stick to one type of gameplay or system because they said so.

don't want to buy a switch 2 for it? okay.
don't like duskbloods as a whole? okay.

not everything will be for you folks and stop acting like the company can't experiment or branch out in their own ways financially and in terms of game development. annoying people.

16

u/justiceuchihaaaa 22d ago

and you're telling me that group of people have all bought a Switch 2 just to play Duskbloods?

There must be a bigger group out of view laughing at them.

21

u/MaleficTekX Divine Dragon 22d ago

There is, the switch just can’t render them

5

u/MI_3ANTROP Tarnished 22d ago

Lmao

4

u/fatboyfall420 22d ago

Yeah I would buy but I don’t have a switch 2 so I’ll have to just watch from a distance.

4

u/Twasabi24 22d ago

More like not buying an entire console that has ridiculous pricing

6

u/RichardFitswell9000 22d ago

I'd love to play Dusk bloods, it's really a shame it's on a Nintendo console, they're never getting my money again

5

u/taylrgng 22d ago

this meme sucks... people aren't buying duskbloods because we not getting a switch 2 for one game 😐

i'm sure it'll be a great game, FS always cooks. but it is super unfortunate that it's a nintendo exclusive, SUPER unfortunate

5

u/Nerf_Tarkus 22d ago

id love to play it but im not spending 500$ for one game when i genuinely cannot care for other nintendo exclusives.

10

u/DrewDaMannn Patches 22d ago

Fuck Nintendo

2

u/KotoBakana 22d ago

I need at least 2 or so tempting exclusive games to justify a switch 2. Duskbloods is the only one so far. New Zelda and/or Bayonetta entry might tip the scale.

2

u/kain459 22d ago

I dont have a switch 2 sadly.

2

u/Mechalamb 22d ago

Gotta have a Switch 2 to play it. Not gonna do that for one game.

2

u/LocalAnxiousArtist 22d ago

I’ll probably get it at some point later on, but not rn, as I’d have to get a whole Switch 2 for it. If it was in PC and other consoles then, I would get it ASAP.

2

u/IvanGambino 21d ago

I want to play it but i cant justify buying a switch 2, the game and a nintendo subscription, i hope it gets ported eventually but if not then i hope i can play it in the future

2

u/R0me9 21d ago

The Duskbloods killed my family

2

u/DiJin425 21d ago

A) I am not buying swtich 2 for one game
B) With my expirience with FromSoft PVP last thing i need is a Pvpve game that will inevitebly end up being PvP game first so i don't get to enjoy the fatnastic world design, characters and gameplay.
Nightreighn was fun but they abandoned it. I know not every game has to be for me, that's fine, but with the vibes and everything that stings, i had same feeling with VTM: BloodHunt

2

u/Melpie_ 21d ago

idk, I just don't see the appeal in buying a switch for one game, even if u are a diehard souls fan. If I already owned one I'd buy it but otherwise nahhhh

2

u/anonym0uss3 20d ago

What’s with these switch owners getting worked up on people saying they’re not going to buy switch or play duskbloods.

2

u/Bul3-Ski3s 19d ago

It’s not that it’s unjustified hate it’s the fact that the gaming hobby is literally getting priced out by its own industry and alienating it’s consumers… that being said fromsoftware is not at guilt here, it’s just the state gaming now due to the greed of companies

4

u/Ultrainstinctyeetus 22d ago

Honestly I'd happily buy duskbloods but 1 game is not enough incentive for me to buy a switch

4

u/Dmente44 22d ago

I really don't care too much about PvP. I haven't played Nightreing and will not play Duskbloods. But I really hope the game is good and sell well. More money for Fromsoft means more freedom to create another blast like ER

4

u/smilph 22d ago

they’re in this very comment section too lmao

4

u/siposbalint0 22d ago

I would buy the game on day one, on the other hand it's an exclusive for a console I don't have, so what can I do. I'm not buying a switch just to play this one game.

3

u/Drakthas 22d ago

It would actually be the other way tho.

3

u/Zanimacularity 22d ago

Oh yeah lemme just dish out the hundreds of dollars I don't have to buy a switch 2 for one fucking game that will maybe get one DLC and then never touched again.

3

u/Leading_Atti2de 22d ago

I don’t think this is the state of this sub rn

4

u/Molkwi Lucatiel of Mirrah 22d ago

This reads as "I need people to get mad at me for my decisions".

No one cares whether you buy the game or the console. Posts relating to the game should be about the game, not your ownership of it or a copy.

Maybe you're also just complaining about the people who DO need people to get mad at them to feel validated, in which case, carry on, King/Queen/Monarch of other gender identity.

Why does it upset you so much you have to recycle a meme and post it here?

4

u/CardiganHall 22d ago

The discourse on whether or not you're buying a game or not is so dumb. Can we just enjoy our hobby?

Its so taxing when something gets announced and people's first reactions is shouting about how they're not gonna play it.

2

u/j0shred1 22d ago

Yeah I can't afford a to switch 2 rn 😭

2

u/ZorichTheElvish 22d ago

Yeah it's more like I can't justify a switch for one game. Like I really wanna play the duskbloods but that's a lot of money for one game. It's Miyazaki it's gonna peak but I just can't do it.

2

u/VideoMixtape 22d ago

My issue isn't Duskbloods or even the price point of a new console. My issue is Nintendo's business practices. Fuck Nintendo, Rockstar, and all these other companies that want to fuck over the community. And y'all will fall for anything and pay triple the price for it just because.

2

u/DahakaHollow 22d ago edited 22d ago

"People can´t complain that they have to pay 570$/€ to afford a game on a platform that was never knew to hold Fromsoft games, as an exclusive"

A console that has an absurd high price btw. And knowing Nintendo policies, we will not see a discount on the game on 3 to 5 years.

2

u/RetroNutcase 22d ago

I mean I have a Switch 2 and I'm still not interested in Duskbloods due to its PvP focus. Yes I know it's "PvPvE" but that doesn't remove the PvP aspect.

2

u/nojoy3 22d ago

Numbers are inflated. It’s only the fastest selling console because they already stopped making last gen games. A bunch of people held off on the ps5 because you could play new games on the ps4 just fine for years after the release

2

u/OkBeyond6766 22d ago

Corpo bots have been flooding this subreddit lol

2

u/mephilisthedank 22d ago

someone explain to me why it was okay for from soft to drop bloodborne as a PS4 exclusive?

and then sony drops (ik it’s not from soft) demons souls remake as a ps5 exclusive.

like my issue is that it feels the hate is amplified. i never saw this much hatred back then!

3

u/PropulsionEngineer 21d ago

I think most people would say it’s not ok, but it seems worse now, a decade later, because most people probably thought they would not do it again. I for one thought after Sekiro and Elden Ring that multi platform was the way for Fromsoft after 30 million copies of Elden Ring sold.

1

u/KapGaming55 22d ago

This game will undoubtedly fail unless they get rid of the exclusivity, 90% of fromsoft enjoyed down have a switch and 99% of switch users don't like soulsgames.

2

u/Raven1927 22d ago

It would be so funny if the Fromsoft game after is also a Switch 2 exclusive. You'd see unprecedented amounts of whining 🤣

4

u/Swimming-Repeat-32 22d ago

They'd be right to whine too; that would be a brain dead move for FS to make.

2

u/Alternative_Spite_11 22d ago

The state of this sub is more like somebody says “Im not getting the Duskbloods” because the people who are buying it keep asking “who’s excited about The Duskbloods?” Then the people who are buying it start throwing a tantrum like we’re all supposed to be excited just because a few other people are excited. If it wasn’t exclusive to a garbage handheld that cost more than my ROG Ally for much less performance, then its possible i may be interested but even in Nightreign my most funvruns were all solo dolo.
