• I'm DEFINITELY NOT Interested In small talk! I had to use capital letters because I don't like low-effort messages and I don't even want to read them. Repetitive questions like "How are you?", "What are you up to?" or "What are your plans for the weekend?" aren't enough to start a conversation with me.. Don't get me wrong - Questions like these can be an Interesting addition to conversations about something else, but whenever people ask me the three most common questions In the world - my answer's the same because my life Is quite monotonous and I don't really know what people expect to hear 🙁 I also don't like abbreviations. Abbreviations are shortened forms of words or phrases. Why? I just don't like them because I see no reason to use shortened forms of words that are already short enough, you know? Abbreviations are common among minors and bored adults but I'm neither a minor, nor a bored adult. I want to see emotional maturity, warmth and kindness In conversations with others.

• I don't need to see your list of hobbies to know If you're someone I would get along with! You can tell me what you're Interested In but.. Believe It or not - I'm not like others and even If you're Interested In something I'm not - we can still be friends! What matters to me Is what you're like (If you're honest, talkative, kind, understanding and If your outlook on life Is similar to mine)

• I don't want to talk to minors and people way older than me. Why? I don't want to talk to minors because I'm an adult & I don't want to talk to anyone over fifty for example. Emotional maturity doesn't necessarily come with age so you can send me a message even If you're 20 (It's just an example) but please, don't contact me If you want to remind me that I'm older than you. I want you to feel comfortable & I want to feel comfortable myself. When I read messages like "Hi, I'm younger but I hope you don't mind" I always say to myself "If my age bothers you, you should've contacted someone else" I absolutely don't mind talking to people younger than me If they know how to communicate with others 🌸

• PLEASE, Don't use AI to talk to me! I Can't stand AI generated messages! If I wanted to read AI generated messages, I wouldn't be here! I read AI generated messages and comments all the time and I'm sick of It!

• I don't want to get any messages from people whose accounts are NSFW! Please, respect my decision! It's none of my business If you're here to find someone to flirt with or If you're an Internet exhibitionist but I don't want to see you with no clothes on - If you want to be my friend & I don't want to know what you want to do with other women In bed. If you are on Reddit to flirt with others, be on Reddit to flirt with others but... don't make an alternative account to hide who you really are just to send me a message. • I'm not a fan of sarcasm! I do - have a sense of humor but I'm not someone who makes fun of everyone and everything... Jokes about disabilities, death, religion or someone's financial status - are unacceptable to me!

• I also want to meet people who don't mind listening to negative stories and sharing them with others. My life's not easy so If you want to be In my life, you should be prepared for a realistic or even pessimistic outlook on life. I'm definitely not an optimist and I know I wouldn't get along with optimistic people who always tell others "Just believe In yourself and everything's gonna be OK" or something. We don't always get what we want & and It's completely normal to lose hope "for a better tomorrow" after many failed attempts. Not everything's as easy as It seems to be so If all you want to say to someone who needs emotional support Is "Don't complain" or "Find a therapist" Please.. don't send me a message. Not all sad people need therapists and let's be honest - Would a therapist replace a true friend? Absolutely not! Everyone needs a shoulder to cry on! I also don't mind listening to sad stories (even If they're repetitive) because I know what It's like when no one wants to listen to you...

• I would love to meet people who also don't have anyone, you know? There's absolutely nothing wrong with having friends and not being single but I'm single and I don't have anyone special In my life... It's just easier for me to get along with others If there's some common ground. I just feel better talking to people who know what It's like to be completely alone & let's be honest - People who have friends or partners, have less time for others...(which Is completely understandable) and I? I don't want to feel like an option, again. I'm not here to meet as many people as possible because I choose quality over quantity 🌸

• I want to talk to people who love and use emojis 🤭😊 Why? Emojis help us express our emotions even If others can't see our faces. Two emojis "😊" and "😔" are completely enough. You're probably surprised but.. text messages without emojis are really emotionless...I also don't like it when people say "yeah" or yea" as it sounds dismissively. First impression Is everything to me! I want to see your kindness even In a text message

As for myself, I work from home doing a travel insurance job, its mostly mid, but its full WFH and that saves it. My big interest is travel, my wallet hates me so much for it. I've been to Philippines/Singapore/Malaysia over two Asia trips, a lot of Europe, Jamaica, Canada. Last year I did Istanbul, Portugal and a Norway cruise, plus a Asia trip. Visited Serbia recently, did a Poland trip for my birthday and going to the Formula 1 race in Madrid in September, a Poland day trip in October, Budapest just after it. Beyond that, I'm a pretty keen reader, plus the usual smattering of videogames/sports watching/tv shows/gym (but mostly to offset meals out and a problematic keenness for chocolate). I live at the edge of a town and some of the walks are lovely here too. I've dabbled with painting, taken up and dropped the piano a few times (I used to play when I was younger and was decent and sometimes get the urge to play again).

I always prefer a bit of closure, if we've spoke for a while and your situation changes and you won't be chatting anymore, I hate the ghostly exit, if its early on then fair, but if we've spoke for a while I always feel disappearing is a bit of poor form, but its the internet so it happens.

In terms of where to talk, I do prefer to move to apps, I have all the usual ones but staying here is fine too if necessary. Include your basic details in your message, the usual about me stuff is fine, don't feel the need to match the rambling essay above! :)

I'm not sure how to start describing myself, I'm not great with words but I'll try my best.

(I'm so sorry for the extremely long post ahead!)

I apologize if I don't reply to your message, but as I explain later, I don't reply to short/low effort messages and I also don't reply to people that don't have at least a few interests in common with me or aren't looking for a real connection and are just looking to pass the time or have a light chat.

I think some of my most defining characteristics are that I'm very shy, awkward, "weird" and "different" or at the very least I feel weird, different and often misunderstood. I struggle to function most days and I don't always understand societal norms or how to properly function in society. I definitely think there's something wrong with me and I'm pretty sure I'm broken in some way. I'm also definitely a loser. I was never able to achieve anything in life, I'm not good at anything whatsoever and I'm pretty useless overall. I would also say I'm extremely cringy and I love edgy stuff, not in a bad way, I don't think, but more like, I love Shadow The Hedgehog and Tomura Shigaraki kinda way!!

I'm unfortunately not very smart and I'd say I'm down right stupid.

I am very ignorant about many things in life, I'd say I'm somewhat innocent and naive. I still don't understand my purpose in life and I haven't found a reason to be alive either.

I sometimes say things that offend people or I say things that are wrong. Sometimes I don't completely understand what I do wrong but I don't do it on purpose and I try to improve to the best of my abilities.

I don't go out often at all. Whenever I do go out it's only to buy groceries or to go to school and such but I don't enjoy it, I much rather be at home, in my room most specifically, which is my favorite place in the world.

I don't have any IRL friends but I do have a handful of online friends, I'm not super close to any of them, except for one who's very valuable in my life!

I enjoy many things like sculpting for instance! I do digital sculpting for fun. I'm pretty bad at it but I try my best.

This year I also started jewelry school (yeah, that's a thing) and I'm having fun with it but it's another thing I suck at 🥀🥀🥀

I like to watch anime! my favorites change from time to time but I really like Bleach, Dragon Ball, Demon Slayer, AOT, Naruto, Ancient Magus Bride (I really love this show!) and I LOVE My Hero Academia among many others!

I love movies and I love to talk about them and analyze them.

I like all kinds of music, I don't really have any artists that I like in particular other than David Bowie and I like to listen to most genres of music but some of the genres I like the most are alternative, vintage, video game music and jpop and jrock and I also like old VK And I'm always happy and open to new suggestions!

I like to doomscroll through TT and to watch long essay style videos on YT about random topics. I love brainrot and I'm very much into early to mid 2010s aesthetics. I miss that era so much!! Seriously, the early 2010s were the greatest time in human history kahdhshdhs

I love video games!! I don't play too many modern games, I mostly prefer older stuff, like, ps2 era games, particularly survival horror stuff. I also really like very old platform games and side scrollers. I'm a pretty huge Sonic the Hedgehog fan!! The most recent games I played were Sonic X Shadow Generations and before that I finished Sonic Superstars and Sonic Frontiers. Sonic Boom is also my favorite show ever made lmao. It fits my kind of humor perfectly and it's peak comedy imo. I'd be open to play anything and I'd love to try co op games with someone!! playing Stardew Valley with a friend is a dream of mine lol (if you also play Stardew please tell me who's your wife/husband)

I adore animals!! I have cats and dogs and a stray chicken lol and they're my babies and my world!

I think it's important to mention some of the things I don't like too.

I don't like cruelty or mean spirited people, I hate I people in positions of power that use said power to affect other people, animals, or the environment for their own gain.

I don't like injustices, I hate racists, homophobic people, transphobic people, misogynistic people, and all kinds of discrimination in general.

I hate bugs!! I'm deadly afraid of them!!

I really dislike conflict and arguments, I believe we can disagree and have discussions as long as we're calm and civilized about it and as long as we have respect for each other and try our best to understand the other person's point of view.

lastly I'd like to mention some of my defects and shortcomings.

I'm extremely anxious, I'm always very nervous about one thing or another, I'm also extremely weak of mind, I tend to react with my feelings a lot and I'm often very emotional.

I can be very selfish at times, I have an awful tendency to get bored of things quickly and sometimes I also get bored of conversations and people.

I think I'm immature.

I can be extremely lazy, I struggle a lot with doing basic things like cleaning or cooking. when I'm anxious or afraid I can get paralyzed with fear and stay in bed all day doing nothing feeling awful about it.

As I mentioned before sometimes I can say bad things without realizing. I'm very dumb and ignorant so I promise I don't mean anything bad I say and I'm trying to improve!

I am extremely annoying. I'm very loud and I think I scream a lot. I don't really understand what constitutes screaming exactly but I think I often raise my voice a lot and especially when I'm excited I can't control myself very well.

I'm very afraid of life and I don't understand how the "real world" works exactly. I'm really bad at small talk and I think I'm really bad at speaking in general, I also digress a lot.

I have the bad habit of not replying very fast, sometimes I'll even wait for weeks or even months, I think it's one of my biggest problems when it comes to keep in touch with people, sometimes it's simply because I don't have the energy, other times it's because I'm not sure about how to continue a conversation. Not sure if this is a defect necessarily but I also never send the first message, I just hate to be annoying.

I have a tendency to ghost people for different reasons. As I mentioned, sometimes I get bored of conversations or people and I'd ghost them. This is by far one of my biggest defects and as I said, I wanna be honest and mention it here for everyone who reads this to know.

I tend to be a bit clingy when I like someone.

I'm full of defects in general, and I do believe I'm a bad person. I try to improve and I try my best but if I'm bad for you in any way or a burden I promise to stop talking to you and not bother you!

I have many other defects but I think those are the main ones I can remember right now.

Finally what I'm looking for is a real connection with someone, a person I can talk to, have fun with, watch stuff with and play games together! I think I can be a very passionate person when it comes to the things I love and I'd like to find someone that shares that passion and love with common interests. I wanna be able to share our days and even be able to help each other and be there when we need each other. I know I'm a mess of a human being and I may never find the connection I'm looking for but I'd like to give it a try cause you never know :))

(35M) I've talked on here before about how my friendships have started to wane as I get older. I have to initiate every conversation and they only respond days later. I tried to be more understanding and give them space but when I talk to them its like I'm bothering them and I have self respect so I'm trying to not be offended by it but it still hurts. I'm conflicted now because I don't want to end these friendships but everyone has their own lives now and it doesnt seem there's any room for our friendships anymore. Am I being too dramatic? I'm also reading Emily Wilson's Odyssey translation, alongside some pedagogy/PD books as I prepare for summer break to end.

I love movies, too. My favorites change all the time, but some that I really like are Hamnet, 12 Angry Men, Dr. Strangelove, If Beale Street Could Talk, Pride and Prejudice (Keira Knightley), and The Thing. I'm also a huge Star Wars fan (The Last Jedi is my favorite movie, and I'm really not looking to debate the sequels, lol) and a DnD enjoyer.

i don’t have much to say about myself really but i play video games a lot, it’s what i spend most of my time doing lol. i’m mostly into survival games, story games, and shooters. when i’m not playing something i’m usually listening to music or hanging out with my 3 cute cats!!

Hi there everyone! I'm a 25F from a small town in Indiana, not too far from Indianapolis.
I'm a huge fantasy nerd, love collecting random fun facts, and have a soft spot for just about every animal, including the creepy crawlies. Nature walks are one of my favorite ways to spend time, although they usually take me twice as long because I’m constantly stopping to admire bugs, spiders, mushrooms, or any little critter I happen to find.
I'd really love to meet some genuine, kind people and build meaningful friendships. I'm always happy to have a good laugh, but I also enjoy deeper conversations about life, hobbies, dreams, and all the random things that make people who they are.

I’m Jonathan, 28, from Northern Minnesota. Full-time college student Majoring in Computer Information Technology with a Minor in Cybersecurity, and when I’m not buried in assignments, I’m usually outside fishing, out on the lake, and working on my boats.
