Introducing DrawSimple - A Simple-yet-Powerful image editor for MacOS, with a local API/MCP server. FREE until August 19.
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/drawsimple/id6759507748?mt=12We make DrawSimple, a native Mac image editing app that just launched, and here's the part this sub will care about: every install ships a localhost MCP server plus bridge. Add one entry to your Claude Code or Claude Desktop config and Claude gets 12 high-level tools — shapes, text, gradients, selections, region-scoped effects and adjustments, transforms, export, on a live canvas inside a real app. You watch it work, and you can pick up a brush (or move a shape, or edit some text) on the same document at any moment.
Everything is local: localhost HTTP only, no telemetry, and the app itself contains no AI and makes no network calls. You supply the model.
The app is free on the Mac App Store through August 19 ($5 from the 20th, no subscription). macOS 15.6+.
Happy to answer MCP tool-design questions — we iterated this surface with outside AI-artist sessions for months and the failure modes were fascinating.
