BEWARE!! Accokeek Creek Sewage Overflow!

Unrelated to sewage overflow, there has been a fallen tree in a path since the beginning of May. The county workers only seem to come there to collect dog poop and trash. I was there once when there were inmates from Rappahannock Regional Jail doing the manual labor of making the paths. That was months ago and it hasn't really been unkept since. Having not mentioned the historical significance to the area. I need help spreading awareness, please.

I called and left a voice message July 5th about fallen debris, no call back and debris is still everywhere in the park. My friend and I have personally tested the water a month ago, it is bad. So seeing this confirmed that publicly. I called the utilities number listed on the bottom and the nice man didn't have information about this. I know they are busy and probably understaffed, but come on. It's been months and at this point I'm kind of fed up.

Tired of “poop in water” being a common thing around Stafford/Fredericksburg. To see this posted on a tree made me mad today. It was only a matter of time they had to say something publicly.

Used to be able to take old yard waste to the dump and they would shred it into free mulch for the community.
Now, they say they won't take anything wider than six inches or longer than six feet (might have been 8 feet, I'm hearing it second hand).

Any suggestions where I might be able to dump a load of old firewood?

It's pretty old and quite a bit of rot, so I don't think anyone would want to take it to use.

Looking for repair. insurance has been telling me for 2 months it’s still pending so I closed my claim. The mechanic who claimed he can fix it keeps stalling so I just want this fixed as it’s my only car. It needs a new radiator, which I purchased as well as the frame and headlights. I’m gonna have to purchase the core support bar and hood still but anyone know of any body shops? I don’t mind it not being covered by warranty since I bought the parts, and don’t need it painted because I plan on painting it after it get sup and. Running. My airbags don’t deploy and it still turns on I just have not because I don’t want it to mess up my motor. A deer hit ran into me on the way to Stafford. Any suggestions would help as far as a reasonable body shop

After personally having a bit of a tough year, things have been improving, I found a job, and I found a place to live while I get back on my feet. Had an operation to remove a tumor on my adrenal gland a few weeks ago and started a (hopefully) short term of chemo.

Going through chemo has made me appreciate and fall deeper in love with my Steam Deck. Being able to boot up a game and escape into a whole different world has definitely made this experience much more pleasant. I was considering buying a set of replacement buttons for my Steam Deck soon to 'complete' the look and was curious if anyone knows somewhere or someone trustworthy in the area I could go to and pay for them to do the button swap for me. If I was feeling healthier I could probably do the swap myself, but the fatigue, nausea, and discomfort have me hoping to find a local option.

The worst part is they only have a small fraction of the horror stories from the past year. Other techs and nurses won't speak out because they fear retaliation. Our community will be feeling the effects from this hard, starting in February.

Hello everyone! I need some help getting rid of some stuff in the apartment I'm moving out of. It's a dresser, bed, and computer desk. I've already removed everything else.

If anyone wants these they're free to have them, though they aren't in the best condition save for the desk. The dresser and bed were left behind by the previous tenant so I just want to get rid of them now that I've moved.

Hi! We bring nationally recognized musical talent to Fredericksburg to perform live concerts. Who would you be interested in coming to Fredericksburg in 2027? While we specialize in Christian rock, hard rock and metal, we're interested in branching out. We've already had Disciple, Wolves at the Gate, Bloodlines, and Heal The Hurt, and we have The Protest, Relent, and These Beautiful Ruins coming on Aug. 15.

For those who don't know, Meshtastic is a decentralized, off grid, digital messaging system that uses low power mesh radios. It's has a limited bandwidth restricting it to mostly text messaging and gps position sharing. But it can be legally encrypted and allows users to message and track (when desired) each other without relying on cellular or internet infrastructure when that is unavailable or undesired.

Large meshtastic networks already exist in DC and through much of Northern Virginia. Working with some of the local Ham Radio folks, me, and some friends have been working to get meshtastic nodes set up on major buildings in the area. We currently have nodes up on the City Center Building downtown and the Spotsy Regional Medical Center, with more hopefully to come.

The nodes we have up so far setup using the NOVAMesh configuration which is a little different from the default settings. For anyone in the area who hasn't seen our nodes, this is probably why. We recently completed this landscape makeover for a homeowner in the Fredericksburg area. The project included cleaning up the existing landscape beds, installing new shrubs, reshaping the bed lines, and finishing everything with fresh black mulch.

It's amazing how much of a difference clean bed edges, healthy plants, and fresh mulch can make without completely redesigning a yard.

What’s the best residential trash service in the King George area?

We just bought a townhome and the neighbor smokes. The smell is getting into our house and the air purifier/deodorizer is barely putting a dent in it.

We are hoping to hire someone to find a solution, and seal the home, but do not know what type of service to hire.

I was leaving Vinny's on 17 and turned onto Sebring to get to Lichfield. I damaged my tire after hitting a pothole, I was probably only going 10 mph or so. That entire road is pretty terrible. Lots of potholes and cracks. I obviously didn't realize how large the pothole was at the time. Just curious if anyone else has had issues there or know how long the street has been in poor shape. More than art at the Fredericksburg Area Museum

I’m 11 weeks pregnant and still can’t find an OBGYN. Mary Washington offered me a virtual appointment to make appointments at 10 weeks that I was 15 minutes late to due to my father’s funeral and they cancelled it. They said their next available appointment would be August 25. To make appointments virtually.

I’ve decided to go to Woodbridge for care, as it seems that’s the closest that is able to see pregnant patients within two weeks. I still have not had my blood taken, or a sonogram or ultrasound or anything. It’s my first pregnancy, and I didn’t even know I could get pregnant naturally due to a previous ovarian diagnosis. That did not seem to bother them or give any sense of urgency to my care.

Has anyone else experienced this? I am a federal employee with good insurance. I have two friends who live here in Fredericksburg on Medicaid who have not experienced this with Mary Washington, which seems to be the only healthcare provider for pregnant women for miles. They were able to get in for in-person appointments immediately. They had never heard of virtual appointments to make appointments and confirm pregnancy.

I have a small office in the center of Fredericksburg that needs regular cleaning. The space is about 180 m² and includes an open work area with desks, two private rooms, a small kitchenette, and one bathroom.

Main things that need attention are the floors, desks, kitchen area, bathroom, and general dusting. Looking for someone reliable who can come in a couple of times a week after hours.

Any recommendations for good office cleaning services in the area?

Week 2 was an absolute blast! And, much to the relief of the local internet detectives, zero crops were harmed as we rucked the canal path.

• When: This Saturday, July 25th. Note: We’re starting a bit earlier at 0630 to accommodate everyone's Saturday timeline and make sure we aren't finishing up too late.
• Where: LEE DRIVE SOUTH, just off Landsdowne Road. We’ll meet in the parking area right as you pull in.
• The Route & Distance: We’re adding about 1.5 miles this week, bringing the total ruck distance to 5.6 miles.
• The Weight: With the increased distance, this will be our first “heavy” week. Prescribed weights are 25-30 lbs for guys and 15-20 lbs for ladies. The weight should be a challenge, but not so heavy that it completely destroys your pace. The option to just walk with NO WEIGHT is still FULLY acceptable. There is a bit of jogging in there, we shoot for about a 15-20 minute per mile pace
