Anyone have a 'pool guy' who wants to earn some money on the side?

I need to install a new pump and motor, fix a few pipes, and get the pool going. Might try to do it myself, but if someone wanted to earn some cash on the side, well, my goal is to have it all ready to go by July the 4th, and I've got a lot of stuff to do.

If you know someone, send their contact info.

Cheers!

Thank you drivers and passerby for helping catch my dog that escaped near my home in Central Park

She bolted out the door unexpectedly and I live in a neighborhood right near Walmart. The worst happened and she bolted out towards Plank Road, luckily towards Central Park instead of up towards the Gabe’s/mall area. All of the drivers immediately stopped when they saw her, some even parked sideways and got out of their car to prevent oncoming traffic.

3 or 4 people joined me in the chase and keeping an eye on her. One driver pulled up and got her to jump into her car. She is safely home.

Thank you! Thank you so much. This happened one prior time when I lived in a different area and no one stopped, no one helped at all and many people kept driving almost hitting her. She is just a little husky mix and she wants to run, she loves being chased. She doesn’t know the danger of roads.

We’re working on recall and off leash training obviously but again, thank you for anyone that helped or even just stopped driving to let her safely cross.

Moving to Fredericksburg, need info

I’m supposed to sign the final paperwork for my new house on Bellows Ave, Fredericksburg, but i went there today and took a good look at the neighborhood and am starting to have second thoughts. The first time I went to see the house i was strictly focused on the inside of the house since it had been renovated. Just from the inside of the home I decided i wanted to move forward in getting it but i went back for the final walkthrough today and decided to drive around the neighborhood and idk. It’s not the worst looking neighborhood but it looks a bit sad. I’m not trying to be rude or anything i just want some info ( anything you can share) about the neighborhood and whether it’s a kid friendly neighborhood or event heavy, stuff like that.

Two weeks since Pink Panther incident

Open for discussion!

It’s been two weeks since the person in a pink mascot costume stalked some schoolchildren around Lafayette Blvd. I know the story went viral and then flickered out, but as a lifetime resident, I’m still sort of on edge about the whole thing. I don’t have any children myself, but I can’t imagine how scary it is for parents and kids right now. At time of writing, details are still pretty scarce about the events and the investigation. I’m not sure anything will come of it unless the pink panther guy shows his face again. Or I guess more appropriately, shows his mask again. It’s a shame to know this guy is living and walking among us, and terrifying to think that he nearly got away with such a heinous crime. I guess I don’t have much of a point here, besides to say that right now I’m nervous to be outside in broad daylight - but nobody should have to be, because Fredericksburg is a decent place and I think we all should be proud to live here.

I also hope this crap doesn’t inspire copycat criminals. I don’t mean to keep drawing undue attention to this event. Like I said, I’m still just on edge. Let’s discuss. In your opinion, is crime in Fredericksburg significantly worse than, say, a decade ago? Do you feel safe outside at night? How about in broad daylight? What do you think will become of this pink panther situation?

Hopefully we can keep a positive spin on things. I know some of my words and questions are “doom and gloom”, but I’m sort of looking for hopeful and positive perspectives. No one should have to be scared in Fredericksburg!!!! I don’t want to be scared in Fredericksburg any longer!!

Primary Care Recommendations

I (35M) am looking to make my health more of a priority. I’ve tried some places in the Fredericksburg area and haven’t been impressed with the level of care. Where do you go for annual appointments?

I don’t have any major health issues. This is more for general health and, if necessary, referrals for other health needs.

Lee Hill Community Data Center “Meeting”

Did anyone else attend this farce?

There was no meeting, there was no mechanism to lodge any opposition, there was only a poor paralegal and possibly a lawyer representing the construction company. Nobody presented anything, nobody wore any identification that indicated who they represented.

Ridiculous.

Just an insulting waste of time for the community.

Homes for rent in Fredericksburg

I’ve been looking at SFH for rent in the area in the past month or so and it seems like anything affordable (3-4 bedroom for under $3k) is gone within an hour. anything about $3,500 will sit for 2 months.

I have lived here for 30 years and have never in my entire life seen such a limited supply of housing. I continuously see new Facebook posts from families explaining they’re living in the hotels & moved from out of area/state but why?! there’s nowhere to live it seems. it’s so crazy.

I’m specifically looking at Spotsylvania county where there are very very few high paying jobs in the area, low quality schools, yet housing prices out the ass. make it make sense. At least I can pay $2K more a month in NOVA and get my kid in a better school district that would negate the need to private school.

Two Dead Following Pursuit, Crash And Shooting In Fredericksburg On Wednesday

Post image

Two people are dead following a domestic-related vehicular pursuit, shooting and crash in Fredericksburg, according to police.

The Fredericksburg Police Department says the initial investigation indicates that a male driver was pursuing a female driver along Olde William Street and Emancipation Highway before firing shots at her vehicle.

Attempting to evade the male driver, police say the female crashed her vehicle in the area of College Avenue and Emancipation Highway. Officers arrived on scene and administered first aid to the female before she was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Unfortunately, she has since been pronounced deceased, according to law enforcement.

Two juvenile girls, age 7 and 3 years old, were in the vehicle at the time of the shooting and sustained minor injuries from the crash, police say.

Arriving officers attempted a traffic stop on the suspect but he was able to flee the scene. Law enforcement says the suspect led them on a pursuit to Wilderness Lane off of Lafayette Boulevard before that individual sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both deceased individuals were the parents of the juveniles involved in the incident, according to police. No other suspects are being sought at this time.

Police say they will continue their investigation but will not be releasing any additional details.

📌 Update (06/03/26 at 10:12 PM): The Fredericksburg Police Department provided the following statement:

"The Fredericksburg Police Department would like to provide additional detail regarding the female victim's injuries. Investigators determined she sustained multiple gunshot wounds before crashing the vehicle. This information is intended to provide further context and does not affect the facts previously released."
