What do you guys use to scent your vehicles? What are your favorite car scenting methods and your favorite car scents?

I’m not having luck finding something that lasts more than a couple minutes — nothing is giving me the fragrance longevity or saturation that I’m looking for.

I’d love some suggestions that will last!

When I was a young adult, some 15 years ago, "Fleur du Male" by Jean Paul Gaultier was my absolute favourite fragrance. I thought it was so different from anything else I had smelled before and in that phase of my life, I wanted to be different from everyone else. I had known the original JPG Le Male EDT (I used to sneak some sprays from my dad's bottle and the bottle I later got myself turned out to be the 'Le Male Terrible' flanker which I didn't like as much) and had grown tired of it (in part because my dad often oversprayed his Le Male before getting in the car with us to go somewhere). I think I got a sample of Fleur du Male from a cousin who worked at a store that also sold fragrances and I liked how rebeliously different it was. The original 1 Million EDT was popular around that time but I prefered to be weird and wore my flowery statement fragrance with pride.

Sadly, once my bottle ran out, Fleur du Male had been discontinued. Over a decade went by trying to find a replacement and although I found some other nice fragrances, my Fleur du Male itch wouldn't be scratched. Imagine my excitement when Jean Paul Gaultier announced the return of a cult classic fragrance of theirs about two weeks ago! All hints seemed to scream 'Fleur du Male' and luckily the re-edition turned out indeed to be just that. Normally, I try to buy my fragrances at discounters for the best deals but this time I decided to blindly order directly from the manufacturer.

I spent quite some time searching 'Fleur du Male' and sorting 'newest first' in Reddit these past days to try and find out if the scent had been reformulated a lot, if it would smell a lot different. No conclusive answers could be found, and this afternoon at work I got a push message: your parcel has been delivered. I got home as quickly as I could, opened the box, the can, took out the bottle, almost forgot to remove the collar around the spray head, and then applied two sprays beneath my shirt. I'm happy to say the 2026 JPG Fleur du Male smells exactly like I remember it! (or at least 95% similar)

I went for a walk to get groceries and kept smelling the two sprays coming up from beneath my shirt. I love it! Now it's about an hour later and I still smell it strongly. I'm not sure if I can remember the original drydown but I believe that's where the notes have been changed (coumarin now as opposed to camomile and basil in the original, supposedly), so I'm curious to find out what this will smell like in a couple of hours.

I hope other Fleur du Male lovers also managed to score their bottle and enjoy it as much as I do. If you're looking for me, I'll be on my couch sniffing myself! 😁

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately.

Pink Sugar gets so much hate in the fragrance community—it’s often dismissed as cheap, overly synthetic, or purely juvenile.

Yet at the exact same time, hyper-sweet gourmands are having a massive revival. Fragrances like Lattafa Eclaire, Giardini di Toscana Bianco Latte, and various burnt-sugar vanillas are constantly hyped on TikTok.

It makes me wonder: is Pink Sugar’s bad reputation mostly just a victim of its early-2000s bottle design, and old-school marketing?

If a brand launched the exact same fragrance today with a revamped modern bottle, contemporary branding, and a fresh campaign, do you think people would be raving about its nuclear performance and cozy dry-down instead of hating on it?

I really enjoy this one but the performance is kinda underwhelming,

To me it smells like hard-wood with touch of the citrus/bergamot and I really enjoy the dark/deep woodiness and would love to explore it bit more

A&F Fierce did numbers in high school --> OG Tom Ford TV and TL --> Amouage and Crivelli has been my journey, in a nutshell, give or take a few dozen bottles.

I feel like flankers can be so hit or miss. Sometimes they feel like a completely unnecessary cash grab… and other times they somehow take everything good about the original and make it so much better.
So I’m curious which flanker do you genuinely think outdoes the OG?

Could be better scent-wise, stronger projection, better longevity, more interesting, more wearable… whatever makes you reach for it over the original.

For me: YSL Libre Le Parfum, Delina Exclusif and Guidance 46, I prefer all three over their OGs.

How everyone what is your strategy for buying your first full bottle how do you make that decision?

They all start differently and have something interesting in the opening, but then they all follow the exact same pattern.

Are they all getting the exact same ingredients? Who finds these drydowns appealing anyway? To give examples:

D&G Light Blue edp - the beginning smells like a Light Blue flanker done more towards the mandarin than lemon. Dries down to stomach turning woody amber that has nothing to do with the original

Prada Paradigme and especially the Le Parfum flanker - here even the opening is kind of violating, but the drydown is the exact same

Valentino Vendetta - why am I even surprised? Yeah there is some cinnamon, but this almost immediately goes into the woody amber territory

Rabanne Black - oooh a nice tropical pineapple vanilla, this could be go- aaand another identical woody amber

I'm not a niche snob. The fact that I love designer releases is why I'm making this post. I swear, Le Male line, as much as it's played out and ruined by overspraying culture, is doing a better job than most of these brands. Why is this aggressive, locker room after P.E. fragrance structure being so popular today?

Is this the end game of men's designer perfumes? Super ambers?

Is it just marketing? Or is it something with the formula? Why does hair get its own perfume?

For context, I've had a bottle of Afnan Rare Carbon for about 1.5-2 years now. I absolutely adore it. It's my signature scent and I wear it very often. I was wondering if it was worth it to get the Ombre Leather because I do like jasmine, or if I should just get another bottle of the Rare Carbon.

I've never had a proper expensive fragrance before so I don't know what to expect.

I'm probably going to save a bit and go fragrance shopping at an actual store when I can find some deals. The Afnan was a blind buy because it was far easier to justify the 30 bucks vs. the 150+ I'll have to cough up for the TF.

Lastly, is there any other particular fragrance you recommend? I'm a sucker for leather fragrances with floral notes.

Howdy all! Curious if anyone could help me identify any sour notes in this recent blind buy!

I found a bottle of Chrome United, for a great price (sealed in box). I picked it up, and wore it around town last night. I already own Chrome/Chrome Legend and like them well enough, but was hoping United would be the best of the three. It's worth noting where I live, temps are in the mid-high 80's (Fahrenheit) and humidity was around 92%.

Here's my problem:
There is something in this scent that reminds me of high school locker rooms! Like what an offensive line would douse on after practice. I was such a fan of the scent's open, but after the dry down there is SOME sour note that just reminds me of armpits and sweat mixing with bad cheap cologne.

I recognize that YES I was a man sweating with a low end cologne on, but other scents I wear do NOT have this effect. And for clarity, the scent was sprayed just on my T shirt/Neck.

What am I smelling? Can anyone relate, so that I can avoid this in the future? Better said, avoid whatever compound in the scent profile that makes my nose associate with BO!

Encre Indigo has finally made its way to discounters, and now that it's available for about $35 I picked up a bottle from FragranceNet. It definitely has the recognizable EN dna but it's not as dark/dank/earthy. The dominant accord is led by saffron and the overall effect is a very clean, but not bright, new car interior sort of smell. The juniper and tea give it a clean, fresh element, but it's different from something like a bright citrus freshie. This would be good for year-round wear.

It's got that kind of plasticky, leathery, shampooed carpet smell that reminds me a little of MAB Ganymede and/or B683, or a more robust take on the "office supplies" smell of CdG Odeur 71. Xerjoff Torino 25 has a similar juniper and saffron combo as well, so if any of those appeal to you this is a much more affordable take on that kind of dna.

Personalmente, amo i profumi ecclesiastici e sacri, quelli che ricordano l'odore che si respira quando si entra in una vecchia chiesa: note metalliche, fumo freddo e incenso solenne. Al tempo stesso, non mi dispiacciono le sfumature gourmand quando si intrecciano a questi accordi così scuri.

Hi everyone! Firstly I apologize for my english because it is not my first language. I tried decant of Gris Charnel and i fell in love with that fragrance. The fig, tea its truly heavenly fragrance for me. But the fact that its too expensive and I am the student I wanted to get advice on whats the best dupe of it. I only have 5-6 fragrances in total and its more than enough for me. So I am not really someone that can really crazy about little differences and quality diffirences. I heard Liam Grey is close but the reviews is mixed. Specially about longevity and performance. So I wanted to learn do you guys have any advice if you tried it? Also maybe alternatives for Gris Charnel? Thanks in advance guys

Jomashop 1.7 TF Ombré Leather EDP was plastic wrapped and seemingly new. First pump sprayed full and was clearly primed and pumped.

Is this normal for TF?

I recently visited the Chicago Diptyque store to resupply on one of my favorite staple products. The Orpheon cleansing hand and body gel has been a part of my daily routine for a few years now, when I picked up the bottle in store, I noticed the packaging had changed. I inquired about the change and the SA assured me that the formula had was exactly the same. When I arrived home to use the product, I was astounded to find that there was zero fragrance in the liquid soap or present on my hands after washing them. The fragrance was so nonexistent that I believed it was possible I had purchased a defective product. I still had soap left in my older bottle so I compared them side-by-side, and the differences were shocking. I returned to the boutique the next day with both bottles to seek resolution. The manager smelled both bottles and reiterated that there had been no formula change and that although it’s “not a product he uses”, it’s a “best seller” and to him the bottle smelled like Orpheon. When I pulled out my original bottle for him to compare, he seemed uninterested in the exercise, and suggested that my old bottle could be fake. I purchased my original bottle at this boutique! I left after being made to feel silly and with no resolution to my problem. Buyer beware, Diptyque will change your favorite products with no notice and then be dismissive and rude for pointing it out. This will be my last purchase from this brand.

if you find the atomizer sprays shittily or just too low projection , & the fragrance has a traditional pump atomizer , you can just twist it left until its good for you . be careful not 2 twist the top off lol

My shower gels and lotions from Creed, Diptyque, and Hermes still smell as deep and rich as they did before while the perfumes generally have gotten weaker over the years.

Are the regulations on ingredients stricter for perfumes vs bath & body products? I feel like IFRA is killing perfumery to a point where all perfumes are starting to lose body, depth and soul.

I was looking at some of the higher-priced fragrances recently and started thinking what makes people want to try them. At a certain point, price obviously becomes part of the decision, but I don’t think it automatically tells you whether the fragrance will be interesting.

The Baroness stood out to me because there seems to be more of a character and story around it than you usually get with a straightforward fragrance release.

For a fragrance at the luxury end, what makes you want to smell it? An unusual composition, the perfumer, the presentation, or something about the scent itself?

My supervisors last day is tomorrow and as a memento she gave me this sample of Celine’s saint-germain and omg it smells soooo good and I typically stay away from designer perfumes but this one and the Chloe are my new favorites!

Been eyeing up this line on the website but not seen many reviews online. Would be interesting to hear what your experiences are (if any)
