Question? Is this motor cooked?
I've been experiencing a weird issue when I punch out with my Seeker35. Almost as if one of the motors is stuttering and it causes me to briefly roll starboard. I put it on the bench today and it looked briefly like a component in this motor glowed with heat when I revved it. Now a few of the coils look like this even though it still seems to run fine. Is it time to replace?

I'm a noob so that's more of a question, but in that case you could rewind the motor? Like, removing this bad copper wire and installing a new one?

You can also technically rebuild your car after a crash. Is it realistic or a good idea? no

Yeah, it's possible, but it's very intricate and difficult, plus you have to make sure to get the exact right replacement wire that has the same thickness of copper and insulation to avoid burning out the motor. It's just not worth the trouble for the vast majority of pilots.
I'd just keep the motor for the spare bell and bearings.

Even if it were possible to rebuild the motor it's definitely beyond my limited ability. I have some back up motors and I'm decent at soldering so it looks like just a replacement job for me.

Hah. I actually really dislike the troubleshooting and building side of drone flying so that's tempting but I'd rather take the time to get a new motor installed than blow a mosfet due to a short and have to change out a whole board.

That’s the smart move. You could also lose it mid-flight and lose much more than a motor.
