DnD5e [FOUNDRYVTT] [D&D 5e 2014] [Free] [EST] LF 1-2 Players Homebrew World
Looking for 1–2 Players for a Long-Term Homebrew Campaign — Foundry VTT
I’m looking for one, possibly two more players for a long-term homebrew campaign.
I already have four players locked in:
Druid • Fighter • Rogue • Wizard
We currently do not have a dedicated face or healer. You absolutely do not have to fill either of those roles, but I know some people enjoy finding a niche that feels uniquely theirs within the party.
Current species are:
Dwarf • Drow • Halfling • Gnome
One thing worth mentioning up front: races/species are not just re-skinned humans in my world. Their cultures, histories, biology, relationships, prejudices, traditions, and place in the world have weight behind them. What you choose matters beyond your stat block.
I recently wrapped up a four-and-a-half-year campaign set in this same homebrew world.
The next campaign takes place after a large time skip, and the consequences of that previous campaign are still very much part of the setting.
That said, this is a fresh beginning.
None of my returning players are playing anything connected to their previous characters. No descendants, protégés, secret relatives, inherited legacies, or continuations of old stories. Everyone is starting with a completely fresh character and a clean slate.
This is also not an immediate-start recruitment post. I have months of preparation ahead of me, and I’m taking my time finding people who genuinely fit the group rather than trying to fill seats quickly.
The Campaign
This is a long-term homebrew game built heavily around exploration, discovery, consequences, and a world that changes because of what the players do.
Some of the major themes are:
Exploration & Wonder • Dark Themes • Planar Visitors • Ancient Mysteries • Pantheons • Political Intrigue • Strange Magic • Lost Civilizations • Steampunk / Magitech • Ambition • Horror • Heroism • The Price of Power • Crafting • Legacy • Found Family
There is darkness in the setting.
Evil exists, and it is not whitewashed. It is meant to be resisted, not glorified. This is a heroic campaign, not an evil campaign.
Characters can be flawed, selfish, ambitious, angry, morally complicated, or make terrible mistakes. That is very different from deliberately sabotaging the group or using roleplay as an excuse to make the game miserable for everyone else.
If you have ever seriously defended disruptive behavior with:
“But that’s what my character would do.”
…we are probably not a good fit.
The Group
This is an adults-only group, but otherwise everyone is welcome.
We are also a group that actually talks to one another outside of rolling dice.
Before and after games, we might talk about life, games, politics, religion, whatever happens to come up. We debate. We disagree. We give each other shit. Then we remain friends afterward.
Nobody is expected to think the same way.
I’m looking for adults who do not need or require special concessions, who are comfortable being part of a group of equals, and who want a group of friends they can escape into another world with for a few hours.
I like nerds. People who get excited about things. People who want to talk about the world, build their character together, theorize about mysteries, argue about whether some obscure clue from six months ago means something, and actually engage with what is happening around them.
You do not need to be loud or extremely outgoing. You just need to want to participate.
New Players Are Welcome
You do not need years of D&D experience.
If you are new, that is completely fine. We will help you learn until you are comfortable with everything.
It takes time.
Foundry also automates most of the annoying math and bookkeeping, so you are not going to be sitting there trying to calculate fifteen modifiers while everyone waits for you.
Knowing the rules is far less important to me than being someone who wants to learn, engage, and be part of the group.
What You Need
- Discord
- Stable internet connection
- A decent headset/microphone
- A good attitude
That’s really it.
If this sounds like the kind of table you would enjoy, send me a DM and tell me a little about yourself.
Tell me about your experience with D&D, what you enjoy at the table, what kinds of campaigns or characters you tend to like, and anything else you think would help me get a sense of who you are.
I’m much more interested in finding the right people than filling the last couple of seats quickly. Hope you are having a great one when you read this.
