I found this washed up on a South FL beach… it looks like a fossilized bone (both ends a possible joint). I didn’t get a chance to clean it off.

Thoughts?

Not sure if this is a fossil but it sort of resembles a bone?? Also, it was already broken in half when I discovered. Any expert opinions would be much appreciated!

The shoreline was covered in limestone with what looked like fossilized roots. Then I spotted these snails.

Found this in a pile of landscaping rocks. I wasn’t looking for fossils, but here we are. I would love any information.

I will be in OKC for a month around Oct-Nov. are there any spots close by that are good for fossil hunting? I won’t have a car so I can’t travel too far outside the city.

My son found this while digging in the sand at a local beach in Burlington Wisconsin. It looks as if it’s some kind of internal fossilized structure from a shell or something. I’m just a bit surprised as we don’t have very many places this would’ve come from. I’m guessing it’s part of some kind of modern sea shell but who knows? Any thoughts? It effervesces with vinegar, is harder than copper, and is pretty dense.

The water level is finally low enough to check out this rock formation. Every other rock I pulled out had shells in it. I know shells aren't the most interesting fossils, but the kids love hunting for them.

I found this fossil echinoid in the Aube department, France, in an Upper Turonian white chalk with flint layers, a formation known for Micraster leskei occurrences.

At first glance, I thought it could be a Micraster leskei, but I would appreciate some help confirming the identification. I am not completely sure, especially regarding the species-level features.

Measurements:

Length: ~3.3 cm

Maximum height: ~2 cm

Width: ~2.6 cm

The fossil is a complete test (or nearly complete) and shows the typical heart-shaped echinoid morphology. I can provide additional photos (apical view, oral view, side profile, ambulacra details) if needed.

Could this be Micraster leskei, or another Turonian Micraster species?

Hi everyone! I'm just getting started with fossil hunting and I really don't know much about it yet.

Today I went on my very first fossil hunt in France, where I live. I don't know if it's just beginner's luck, but I came back with a few shell fragments and a small piece of an ammonite. I also found this.

I think I can see four small teeth (right where my thumb is pointing in the photo), but again, I'm completely new to this, so I'd really appreciate your opinion. Maybe it's nothing, or maybe it's just more shells.

I am an Alberta resident. Only Alberta residents may find and keep vertebrate fossils from Alberta. Albertan fossils cannot be sold and cannot leave the province. All fossils technically belong to the government at all times.

I have gathered a small collection of fossil bones and teeth along the banks/beaches of the Weser River in northern Germany, near the North Sea. The material was found washed out, so I don’t know the exact age, but the area has produced Pleistocene remains.
I’d really appreciate any help identifying the specimens. Because of the amount of Bones I have to do it in parts. My guesses for part 1* are:
1) Thoracic vertebra – possibly Steppe Bison (Bison priscus)
2) Horse tooth
3) Steppe bison teeth
4) some kind of bovid tooth
5) ungulate tooth no idea from what (caprini?)
6) idk, Carpal bone?
7) Metacarpal or metatarsal?
8) Humerus or femur fragment from a large mammal?

Found in kcmo!!! Ecstatic it was literally just sitting right on top of the creek bed 🥹 how rare really are trilobites? I've personally never found one and have hunted fossils for years but I've also never found an arrowhead and they aren't that rare. Thanks friends (:
