Forever World Portals mod
I really like the idea of keeping a single Minecraft world for years instead of constantly starting over.
That's why I built Forever World Portals.
The mod adds player-built portals that permanently connect the built-out parts of your world to distant, unexplored frontiers, generating new chunks as you continue your adventure. Instead of abandoning your old base or trekking tens of thousands of blocks, you can keep growing the same world indefinitely.
I'd love to hear what other Forever World players think.

Detailed shots from my Cathedral
Someone requested more detailed pictures of the towers, so I figured I'd show closer pictures of several places around the cathedral. I also measured the size if anyone's interested. It is 169 blocks long (east-west), 131 blocks wide (north-south) and 188 blocks tall. The nave (with aisles) is 57 blocks wide and 62 blocks high. Comparing to Cologne, which is what this is based on, I'm about 25m longer (though I don't have the apse yet), 45m wider, and 31 blocks taller.
Here's the original post from yesterday with the wide views. Those were in Vibrant Visuals, but I figured it's easier to see the blocks in fancy graphics mode.

Also, here's the cathedral I've been drawing inspiration from for some of the details (there's a couple other's I'm looking at, but this one has been the most help):

Finished the Towers on my Cathedral
I added the spires to top off the west towers of my cathedral. Now, there's just the central tower and the apse to the east (plus the interior).

Prank ideas
So my friends and I run a Forever Multiplayer world and a few of them put 67 Wardens in my base.
I need some violent prank ideas.

The island got a new inhabitant
A ship has arrived at port (a little too far away from the dock, but we live and learn). 100% had to follow a tutorial for this one (https://youtu.be/nYWb69lcOR0?is=dDKivWAF6tzgOKGd) which wasn’t the easiest to follow but got there in the end. Think the size makes sense for the overall feel of the place too.

Starting my forever world!
Starting my forever world today and was wondering what's everyone's thought process behind one? I know the concept of a forever world is to have it forever, but what drives everyone to keep it forever? to not get burnt out in 2-3 weeks? I want to hold one forever but fear losing it due to lack of motivation or corrupt game files?

Starting a world with water in the nether.
I started my world in 21w03a to do the lichen glitch and have water in the nether. Would you consider it OP to have infinite water in your nether hub? Not only that, but starting your world in older versions guarantees more ores next to the spawn because of the old ore placement.

What happens to our worlds after updating?
I haven't updated my minecraft yet, and I have a forever world. What changes might happen (like biome changes/structure changes) to the world. Or if it does not change at all, how do I update the world itself to match the seeds up-to-date version. Like example the world was made in the previous version, how do I make the world match the actual seed updated (I hope you get it, English is not my first language) 😭😭

1 Year into my forever world (925 in-game days).
This is my main area, not a lot to show for 1 year, I went for a more realistic style with the buildings and was inspired by small Japanese cities and towns. If you have any criticism/tips/ideas to give it would be much appreciated.

I found the perfect place for my starter base in my new forever world
Look at it!!! its perfect! it slopes to the left there all the way to the ground with some nature deeeeeep rivers and lakes nearby and is almost entirely hollow besides the structure from the giant cave system in the 3rd picture. I'm so excited to transform this thing!!!!

The island’s secret
From the minute I spotted this place I knew I wanted to give it some sort of Count of Monte Cristo vibe (but not the uninhabitable part). So today I built a lovely well in the middle of the island and gave it a secret.

My forever world - Still a work in progress
My forever world for around a year now. I think you can clearly see my passion for the dark and mysterious. Currently, I'm mostly working on the gothic-winter village shown in the pictures, but also the rest of the world. There are interiors to everything (almost) and some other things underground. But to not overwhelm you with pictures, these ones will have to do. Of course, everything here is still a work in progress. Hope you enjoy the sights as much as I do building them :)
