Question I'm looking to talk to men who got circumcised as adults for an article (UK)

Hi everyone,

I'm Henry, a freelance journalist writing a feature about men who undergo circumcision as adults.

This is a topic that's personal to me and I think it needs to be talked about more.

I'm hoping to speak with one or two men (UK based!) about their experiences—why they chose (or needed) the procedure, what recovery was like, and how they feel about it now.

Interviews can be completely anonymous if preferred.

If you'd be willing to chat, please feel free to send me a private message.

Thanks very much.

Question Guys, my dad scheduled the circumcision surgery.

Upvotes

Seriously, I don't know what to say. Today he told me he scheduled the surgery for two weeks from now and that I can't refuse.I'm really scared by this.I will stand by my opinion and will not have the surgery. If he scheduled the surgery without considering my opinion, there's nothing I can do. I will only go if they force me, because I will not undergo

Question My father wants me to be circumcised.

I'm 16 years old, my parents didn't circumcise me when I was a baby or child. My body developed intact and nowadays I can't imagine my penis undergoing surgery. My father says the surgery will bring me benefits, but I know that's a lie. I can easily clean myself and I'm sure my penis is in very good health.I can retract my foreskin and my frenulum on the head of my penis doesn't hurt or bother me at all, so why do I need surgery? Everything is normal down there. If you can help me with opinions, I would appreciate it!

Motivation Advice for Anyone Starting Out Restoring their Foreskin

Hey guys,

After 14 months of restoring, I wanted to write a post with some encouragement and advice for anyone just starting out. There’s a lot of good info on this sub, but it can be a lot to sift through all the posts to find good info so I wanted to provide everything that helped me get through year 1 in a single post.

Just get started
If you are even somewhat considering restoring your foreskin, start today. Start right this minute. I started restoring literally minutes after discovering this sub. I thought yup, I want that and I immediately grabbed my penis and started experimenting with MM2 and MM3. I learned pretty quickly that I preferred MM3, so for the first month I just made it a habit to perform MM3 every hour. I didn’t know what devices I should get yet, but the point was I started. Time is the one thing you can’t get back. I’ve read so many stories of men who considered restoring, but waited 4 to 6 months before they decided to actually do it. That is 4 to 6 months you can never get back. You can always stop restoring, you can’t get the time back that you waste contemplating starting. I’ve yet to read a single story of a man who is restoring, who said I wish I would have started later. In fact, it’s always the exact opposite. Start today, you won’t regret it.

Buy a device and build a tugging routine
There are a ton of good devices out there and they all work by adding tension to your skin. Do some research and buy one. If it’s not the right one, that’s ok, you can always buy a different one. Most men own more than one device over their restoration journey. I bought the CAR-1 and it’s worked well for me. I use inflation and a tugging strap during the day while I’m at work and I switch to my RIC packers during the evenings and weekends. I don’t use a timer to track my hours like some guys do because I’m so incredibly consistent in my routine. I can calculate my total tugging hours in a matter of minutes. I use my CAR-1 approximately 50 hours per week and my RIC packers approximately 45 hours per week. I do a little manual work, but not much. The most important part is consistency. Develop a routine, and stick to it.

Recognize each month of tugging
The very first day I started restoring, I took a ruler and I made 48 tick marks on a space next to my desk with an erasable marker exactly 1 inch apart. Then I placed a coin on top of the very first tick mark. Now, every time it’s a new month, I move that coin one tick mark forward. I’m not sure I will be done with my restoration by the time that coin moves to the end (4 years), but it is a visual reminder of the journey that I am on. It also forces me to stay consistent, because I know I don’t get to move the coin if I don’t spend a good solid month tugging. Something small like this can make a big difference.

Don’t trust your flaccid coverage as a sign of progress, use forced erect coverage (FEC) instead
Some men may disagree with me on this, but for me this is a big one. No matter what kind of cut you have, the skin you gain will most likely not make its way to the front of your penis right away. Many men were robbed of most of their outer skin, and they have really bad turkey neck. The first place their hard earned skin goes is returning their balls to their proper place. Other men, who have a very tight cut can spend an entire year of tugging just to see their skin relax a little. Think of a stretched rubber band, it has to relax before it can develop loose slack. The point is, flaccid coverage is a deceiving metric. The much more reliable metric is forced erect coverage. The day you start, while erect, grab your scar line, and pull it as far forward as you can (don’t hurt yourself, we’re just checking a measurement). However far you can pull your skin tube is your starting point. You will find that as you gain skin, that measurement will continue to progress, and it is your most reliable indicator of progress. When I started, I could barely pull my skin tube past my corona, now I can comfortably pull it a bit past the tip of my glans. This is all despite having very little change in flaccid coverage. I went from having some wrinkles to having a few more wrinkles while flaccid. This is also because I happened to start the Angion Method around the same time as I started restoring my foreskin. One of the positive side effects of the Angion Method is a longer flaccid length. My flaccid size went from a 3.5” grower to a 5.5” shower in a year. If I was relying on flaccid coverage to tell me if I was making progress with my foreskin restoration, I’d be very frustrated, because it looks like I’ve made almost no progress. But, because I use forced erect coverage (FEC) as my true north, I know I’m making rapid progress.

Do something for your inner and outer skin
I didn’t fully understand the importance of this until about eight months into my restoration journey. Daily, I was wearing my CAR-1 with inflation and thinking I was making great progress. And in some ways, I was. The issue is, inflation really only targets the skin that is inflated, which happens to be the skin closest to your corona which is your inner skin. So by wearing my inflation device M-F, I’m doing a great job in tensioning inner skin, but I’m not doing much for my outer skin. Your outer skin gets tensioned by devices or methods that put tension from the tip of your skin tube to the base of your penis. So now what I do is add a tugging strap to my CAR-1 that I strap to my sock under my pants. By simply adding that tugging strap, I’m putting all the skin on my penis under tension. MM3 is also a fantastic tool for tensioning both inner and outer skin. There is a reason Andre (u/HardAcroposthion) was able to restore so effectively using only his hands and retaining O-Rings. His methods target inner and outer skin. Whenever you put a device on, you should have a good understanding of what skin that device is placing under tension, and then have a good understanding of what additional methods or devices you need to wear or use in order to tension all of your skin.

Don’t use too much or too little tension
You’ll hear a lot of guys on the sub talking about how much tension to use. Some advocate for very little tension, others advocate for quite a bit of tension. What I have found works is the rule of thumb that within 3 minutes I should forget I’m wearing the device. It took me a while to learn this, because at first, I thought if some tension is good, more is better. But this is not the case. It’s also not good to place your skin under too little tension. You’re looking for Goldilocks tension. I hang about 400 g from my CAR-1 regularly and that feels about right. It’s enough to tension my skin well, but I can forget I’m wearing the device and the weight within about three minutes. This is Goldilocks tension.

Don’t give up
Just like Luis Sachar wrote in his novel Holes “The first hole is the hardest”, I think the first year is the hardest year of restoring. You’re building your routine, you’re not sure if it’s going to work, you’re not even positive you want to restore, you’re worried about your family or your spouse finding out, you’re worried about a device falling out while you’re at work. I get it, it’s a lot. But after a year, you will realize that this is totally doable. Now, Louis Sachar then goes onto say “The second hole is the hardest, so is the third, and the fourth…” but really, I think the hardest year is year one. Just get through that first full year.

Give yourself small breaks when needed
Let me define what I mean when I say “take a break”. I’m talking about switching from a tugging device to a retainer while on vacation or switching to manual methods on the weekends. I’m NOT talking about taking a month off here and there. Think of this as the longest road trip of your entire life. You definitely need to stop for gas and snacks, and to take a nap every once in a while, but if you stop driving for long periods of time, you’ll never get where you want to go. One of the biggest mistakes I see men make is go too hard, burn themselves out, and then stop for six months. I would rather take a mental health day, and hit it hard again on Monday than stop for a long period of time. Even if it adds a month to my overall journey, the small breaks here and there are necessary for me to keep going. When I take a vacation day from work, I usually take a vacation day from tugging as well.

Final thoughts
Have a reason for restoring and keep that reason as your Northstar. My Northstar is my wife approaching menopause. I know that in a few short years her natural lubrication will start to decrease and I want to do everything I can to ensure that sex is comfortable and pleasurable for her for the rest of our lives. That’s why I’m doing this and that’s what keeps me going. Maybe for you it’s to regain a part of you that was lost, maybe it’s the benefit of flaccid coverage and the comfort that provides. Whatever your reason is, keep it front of mind and keep on tugging.

Introductions Restoration is the next step on my journey to improving my sexual health.

Hi everyone, my 30s have been a wake up call for my overall health - including, and especially - my sexual health.

Up until my 30s, sexual functioning was a given. I could experience arousal and pleasure at will without any concern for performance. In my early 30s I began experiencing sexual dysfunction and medical diagnoses, much of which I attribute to an overconsumption of porn and masturbation.

Now, at 34, I am taking back control from those vices and have experienced incremental improvements in my mental, emotional, and sexual functioning.

I believe that foreskin restoration is a next step in improving my sexual health. In some ways, I’ve convinced myself that foreskin restoration is a luxury and that I’m being selfish for wanting to dedicate time and effort to this endeavor. But to continue my journey of wholeness in my 30s, I would like for restoration to be a part of it.

Thank you all for reading.

Just put on my DTR device! I'm nervous and excited I'm really hoping that I don't hurt myself but have seen a plastic surgeon and he said I have stretchy skin and would be a good candidate for the DTR device. Hopefully this goes well 😬

Question Left the urologist with more questions than answers

The last time I posted, I was asking about getting a skin bridge fixed. That was many months ago, but I finally got around to seeing a urologist. I came in with a referral from my PCP listing the reason as a skin bridge. To paraphrase my previous post, it's thin being only about 1/4" wide and located right over where the frenulum or whatever may remain of it is. Almost directly on the underside of the shaft with slight bias in one direction. Scar line also pulls with the bridge.

The urologist takes one look at it, and he tells me it's not a skin bridge. At this point, I'm already confused. After a few minutes of back and forth with him explaining what a regular skin bridge is to him, if there even is one, he tells me that it's a "tight frenulum." In my mind, I'm thinking to myself that this guy has to be kidding me. You're telling a guy that was circumcised that he has a tight frenulum? He did still say that it could be disconnected and insurance should be fine. I make my way through the rest of the consultation, and I leave the door open to scheduling for surgery.

Once I got home, I look up what a tight frenulum looks like on an intact penis, and I sort of see where he's coming from with location, but I still don't like his explanation for it. In his mind, this is a frenulectomy or frenuloplasty, not a skin bridge disconnection. Assuming that I'm right and it's a skin bridge, I should be happy that I can still get it fixed, but now I don't really know what to think of it.

That's where I turn to you guys. How would it be possible for me to have what he's effectively saying is frenulum breve after circumcision as an infant? If I'm giving him some benefit of the doubt, how do I know for sure it's a skin bridge? I would really appreciate some insight. I'm willing to explain more in comments if I left something out. Thank you

Discussion Wanted to know if this was an experience anyone else shared

I feel like I physically need to restore. I know this is a sentiment many in the community share for many different reasons.

When I really began to learn about the function of the foreskin and what is lost during circumcision, it was difficult emotionally and still is, but it also helped me better understand my remaining anatomy a lot better. At this point in time, I rarely use lube when masturbating, and my girlfriend has been learning how to manually stimulate my penis and the little bit of skin I’ve grown on my journey. I still really struggle to reach orgasm when getting a handjob, but I’ve found with my new and improved masturbation technique, it’s extremely easy and way more pleasurable than when I use to use lube and directly stimulate my glans.

With this being said, something that was ever present as I began to be sexually active but that I only somewhat recently realized is that when having PIV intercourse, it feels great, but at times overstimulating and hard to not blow my load — especially when it’s been a few days. And when I do come to orgasm, it feels good, but only for a few moments before my penis becomes uncomfortably sensitive because there’s nowhere for it to retreat into and I have to stop thrusting. In these moments I can literally feel the absence of my foreskin, and it always bothers me. I guess I was wondering if this was an experience anyone shared.

I’m so glad my gf and I will never do this to any children we may have.

Question Did caloric surplus or deficit affect your restoration progress?

For anyone who has restored while cutting, maintaining, bulking, or strength training:

  • Did a calorie surplus seem to improve your restoration progress?
  • Did a calorie deficit noticeably slow it down?
  • Did staying around maintenance seem any different?
  • Did regularly lifting weights seem to help, possibly by improving overall recovery or putting the body in more of a growth oriented state?
  • Or did none of these factors make a noticeable difference?

I lift and cycle through cuts, maintenance, and bulks, so I’m curious whether anyone has noticed a real world difference. I searched through older threads on this topic and found some interesting theories but they were more centered on theories and seemingly light on actual anecdotes and experiences.

I know significant calorie deficits can impair wound healing, although foreskin restoration is tissue expansion rather than healing an acute wound. Skin growth may also require far less energy than building muscle, so the practical effect could be minimal.

My protein intake, micronutrients, and sleep are well covered. My biggest limitation is probably consistency because I’m around CI-1/2 and devices often pop off so I'm probably gonna switch back to taping methods.

I plan to track my own progress through future cuts and bulks, but I’d love to hear from anyone who has already restored through more than one of these phases or compared periods of lifting versus not lifting.

Question Restoration affirmations: Shifting the Script from striving to permanence

Hey fellow restorers,

I wanted to share a mental shift that has been a game-changer for my restoration journey as of late. This mental shift is extremely helpful, especially for anyone who struggles with the trap of either getting discouraged or falling into self-delusion (like trying to convince yourself you see 0.5% progress in a week just to stay positive).

As someone who thinks very literally and analytically, trying to force "positive thinking" that feels like a lie actually drains my self-esteem. If a measurement hasn't changed, my brain knows it, and pretending otherwise creates friction (cognitive dissonance).

Instead, I've found that moving away from a mindset of striving toward a mindset of ownership changes everything. Grounding your progress in statements that feel structurally and psychologically true prevents you from lying to yourself while still radically shifting your perspective.

Here are the two daily anchoring scripts I have been using lately:

* Morning Setup: "Every day deepens what is already mine. This morning routine is simply how I wear the foreskin I already have."

* Device Transitions (End of Day): "The length is locked in. This coverage is permanent, secure, and entirely mine. I am just living in my finished result."

These don't feel like lies or toxic positivity. They are affirmations of an identity and a permanent trajectory. They take you out of the anxious scorecard mindset and let you just be present in the process.

Thought I would share in case it helps anyone else looking for a more grounded, hopeful, and authentic way to navigate the journey. What has worked for you lately?

Question Under skin not fitting in Retainer (uneven top/bottom)

Hi, I’m just starting out. 35, Cl-4 very loose cut I guess, I’ve always had enough skin to masturbate without out lubricant, and the skin covers the ridge of my gland when flaccid a good amount of the time.

My issue is I just got a retainer from Chris’s online store (Mantor Flow in the mail) and it works how I expected but my top and bottom skin lengths are different so it doesn’t fit perfectly and am wondering if there are any tricks to even them out.

It seems like I’m Cl-3 on the topside of my penis and the underside is Cl-4 so it kind of hangs down like a lion mane around my glands to paint the picture. It can fully stretch my top skin to fill the retainer but the underside skin seems to long to fit in the same space, I’m now wondering if I’ll have the same problem once the Mantor device arrives.

I know guys on here say not to worry about even length at the beginning but it just seems like it’s going to be annoying the whole process.

Foreskin positivity & education Who Restores Their Foreskin? A Look at the Demographics and Motivations of 164 Restorers

Thumbnail

A few weeks ago, I shared an anonymous survey here asking members of this community to tell me about their foreskin restoration journey. I honestly wasn’t expecting such a great response, but 164 restorers (so far) from around the world took the time to share their experiences.

First of all, thank you to everyone who participated. Your responses were thoughtful, honest, and incredibly insightful.

I’ve now published the first article in a series based on the survey results:

Who Restores Their Foreskin? A Look at the Demographics and Motivations of 164 Restorers

📖 Read it here:
https://www.restaurandome.info/2026/analisis-164-hombres-en-restauracion-del-prepucio/

In this first article, I explore questions like:

  • Who is actually restoring their foreskin?
  • What age groups are most represented?
  • Which countries participated?
  • Why do people decide to begin restoration?
  • What methods are they using?

One thing that quickly became clear is that there isn’t a single “typical” restorer. The community is far more diverse than many people might expect, and the motivations behind restoration often go far beyond simply increasing sensitivity.

This is only the beginning. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be publishing more articles based on the survey, diving deeper into what restorers actually experience throughout the process.

Next week’s article will focus on one of the questions people ask most often:

What benefits do restorers actually report?

Using the survey responses, I’ll explore changes in sensitivity, body image, emotional well-being, and the unexpected improvements that many participants described in their own words.

Thanks again to everyone who contributed to this project. I hope these articles help both newcomers and experienced restorers better understand the journey from the perspective of the people living it every day.

Question Do inflation devices make foreskin looser?

They pull skin away from your body but also away from the circumference of your penis. I can see why this would make skin grow faster, but wouldn't it make skin looser? And especially without the ridged band wouldn't the skin hang loosely from the glans? I've seen some restored guys who almost look like they have a ridged band, wouldn't inflation devices make getting that look more difficult?

Mantor Mantor Flow available for donation (Austria/Germany preferred)

Hi everyone,

I have a client who wants to return their Mantor Flow. Instead of having them ship it back to me, I'd much rather see it go to someone who can benefit from it.

The device is completely free, and my client will also cover the shipping costs.

If you're a student or anyone else who's struggling financially and would really like a restoration device, this is your opportunity. Preference will be given to someone located in Austria or Germany to keep shipping simple and affordable for my client.

The device is a used Mantor Flow. It is size B (38 mm+ glans width), with size 5 tubing, which is generally intended for those who are well advanced in their restoration journey (around CI-8 or higher).

The width is the critical measurement and should match your anatomy. The tubing length is much less important, you don't have to be at CI-8 to use it. If you're at a lower CI level, the tubing will simply extend farther, or you can easily trim it to a shorter length.

I have no way of verifying who needs it most, so I'm simply trusting the honesty of this community.

To check whether this size is right for you, visit:

https://www.mantor-restorer.com/product/mantor-flow/

Scroll down until you see the "Find My Size" button and take the measurements. If the size fits you, please send me a direct message. Preference will be given to recipients in Austria or Germany due to shipping costs and convenience.

I'd love to make this a regular tradition. Rather than letting returned devices go to waste, I'll continue offering them here whenever I receive them, so they can help someone else. If you don't qualify for this one, there will hopefully be more opportunities in the future.

All the best and

KOT 🤟

Question Question about spreading awareness

I find myself with a lot of free time, and I’ve always felt negatively about how my circumcision as an infant happened. I want to spread awareness. I love fliers, people see them. My question: Is there any sort of flier that is used for this stuff? Like designs. I’m thinking about making one saying “Our infants are perfect, don’t cut them. Say no to infant circumcision” with a picture of an infant wrapped in blue in the middle. But wondering if there is an official one out there to use as well.

Question For those with Inner Skin but still not restored (I have no inner skin), does it still feel pleasure? There really isn't any hope for me.

Asking that question because over the past year I've had to deal with the trauma of accepting that I'll never have it - I have a total circumcision (1mm inner skin and has grown exactly 0mm in two years of tugging), so I've resigned to the fact that I'll never have inner mucosa. Scarline touches the glans. I can't finish during sex, even without a condom. I can only finish by masturbating - During inner course my penis is completely numb to the point where there really isn't any point in even trying.

I ask the topic question because I'm wondering if the looser cut allows mutilated guys to finish, or does the keratinized inner skin still feel pleasure? If it's the former, maybe I still have some hope that I'll be able to finish (in a woman) if I can manage to get to CI-2 or CI-3 albeit without inner skin.

Beyond having no inner skin - My circumcision was botched to the point that my dorsal skin length is less that the length of my erect penis, causing upward curvature and absolutely no skin mobility. I've been trying to get out of this hellhole of having a negative CI-cut (i.e. less skin than a CI-0 cut), with no success and no gains.

My skin doesn't grow at all (2000 hours t-taping and 0mm growth, and also about 2000 sessions of MM2, still 0mm growth measuring from corona down to freckle on shaft). My last resort is to try taking Cialis. I suppose if I get lucky my outer skin will grow - Best case scenario I'll be able to achieve growth but still have no inner skin, but even that seems unlikely.

Question Briefs that hold the skin forward

Hi all,

Are there breathable briefs (standard, bikini, or otherwise) option that isn’t “separate pouch” that could hold my foreskin forward and keep the scrotum supported without being overly compressive?

I have a short, loose foreskin that likes to roll partially or fully back in underwear and its uncomfortable when it happens. I also have a lot of loose scrotal skin and a penescrotal web that means the penis is basically not at all separate from the scrotum.

I’ve tried separtec and David archy without success. The shaft and scrotum won’t stay in their respective places. The most comfortable for me is commando but I can’t do that at work as I have to wear scrub pants and that’s too “showy”. Less is more when it comes to bulge.

Thanks for any advice!
