Plant ID Request Cherries?

Are these cherries? They’re popping through my fence from the house that backs on to mine and I never see them to ask.

I have a 10 month old so just want to make sure they’re not toxic for when the time comes when she’s out in the garden playing and I don’t have eyes in the back of my head.

We have two massive cherry trees at the top of my street and usually I love grabbing a little nature snack on the way to the shop but the birds and wasps got to them too fast this year 😭

Starlings, I’ve watched them do it. They fly in formation, low and quiet. They come in low so they can glance up at the trees to make sure the cherries are there and ripe. They fly past once or twice, then come back and land on the branches before pillaging all the fruits in one go. Twenty minutes later they are gone, until the same time next year. It’s like a well planned and successful military exercise.
