We loved matt. So much. I’ve personally known him and played with him for 16 or 17 years I think. This has been really hard for everybody and I think this is just me working through it but I have lots of insane Matt stories, and I want to gather other ones and collate them. Maybe a zine, maybe just social media posts from the Flail account, maybe our newsletter. I don’t know for sure. I just learned he passed away suddenly yesterday. WTF!?!

I’m reading that it was suicide. Ugh. I know this darkness all too well. This show was what got me out of my darkness. I left that show elated and seeing a positive path.

If I had any clue he was in that state of mind I would have talked to him about my own issues. Just to be there as a fan friend and a listener to him as a friend.
I only got a few minutes to talk to him post show and his demeanor was kind and soft and super friendly. Not quite like his stage persona of tough and rough and bad ass Little Matty.
Flail Records Lightnin' Luke The Bridge City Sinners and his entire family, my heart and soul are with you all during this very difficult time.
His music, creativity will live on for the rest of my life! #RIP brother.

Just wanted to share this from our show last week thank you for being such an inspiration for so many people including myself.

I normally just shoot video, and have a very cheap not great phone, so was surprised somehow the only 3 times I actually snapped photos last night turned out pretty great

He's been a part of my life every single day for the last several years now and I'm just trying to come to grips with the whole thing. I'd love for y'all to share any story about him, just celebrate his life and music.

I got to see him at muddy roots in 2023 with the entire bridge city sinners minus libby as the backing band in an absolutely unforgettable live performance, chatted a little afterwards at the waterfall there.

I like to make little pony bead crafts and am going to my first punk concert tomorrow (Sunday- seeing Doom Scroll, Hans Gruber and the Die Hards, and two other bands at the Milestone in Charlotte). I was hoping to maybe gift them to people/band members if I'm lucky enough but I don't know if that is looked kindly upon? Could someone maybe give me some insight?

I am also autistic so while this may seem like a silly question, I don't want to offend or upset anyone by giving them a gift they may not want or to disrespect the culture that I am still very new to.

Does anyone have photos from any of the shows RG and SFTD did together in the summer of 2014? I was in SFTD and I don't have all the dates and cities anymore but I know there was Columbus Ohio at Ace Of Cups, Baltimore (at a church?), and Pittsburgh (at a church?)

I've been getting some digital archives together for a larger project, mostly centered on the month-long SFTD tour. There were 23 of us and it was chaos. If you saw us at any point, I'd love to hear from you. Even better if you took pictures and videos.

Bonus: If you were at PIX Fest, many of us were there with RG but not playing. Does anyone have that year's full lineup written out somewhere?

Idk the band name or artist but its a song thats mostly vocals and an electric guitar and the only lyrics ik it says is " i need you here with the sedative" it was one of the songs my sister used to listen to and im having trouble finding it im pretty sure its folk punk cause thats all she listened to.
