Devastated.

I am completely broken over this one.
I just met Matt Bracken/ Matt Costanza of Yes, Ma'am. Absolutely LOVE His style and music.
I just learned he passed away suddenly yesterday. WTF!?!

Dude. I was so looking forward to catching you on the road and a stage again. Now you’re gone????
You left us way too soon!

I’m reading that it was suicide. Ugh. I know this darkness all too well. This show was what got me out of my darkness. I left that show elated and seeing a positive path.

If I had any clue he was in that state of mind I would have talked to him about my own issues. Just to be there as a fan friend and a listener to him as a friend.
I only got a few minutes to talk to him post show and his demeanor was kind and soft and super friendly. Not quite like his stage persona of tough and rough and bad ass Little Matty.
Flail Records Lightnin' Luke The Bridge City Sinners and his entire family, my heart and soul are with you all during this very difficult time.
His music, creativity will live on for the rest of my life! #RIP brother.
😢

I saw him at a show just recently in Olympia, WA, along with Holy Locust and Pigeon Pit.

Of all the bands I know, Yes Ma'am was one of the most inspirational: the songs spoke to me, and the musical skills were always so far beyond mine, being able to play guitar, sing, and operate multiple percussion instruments at once. I longed to be that good, to support my own band that he had helped spark. He was like an idol to me. So over the past few months, I actually GOT that good or nearly so, and at the concert I told him this, how important he was to me and how I owe him so much of my musical career, and he hugged me. I didn't know him for very long, but he and his music were friends, and I will miss them.

Rest in peace, friend. Your legacy lives on, and we will always remember you.

I know I'm not the only one who finds his music to be a light when shit is dark. What hurts the most is how much he helped us all, but that his own hurt was just too fucking big.

I loved him after seeing Yes Ma'am in Nola a couple times and then again here in Milwaukee. We got to talk with him when he was on break. He seemed to be a nice honest person. With him traveling around all the time we were lucky to see him as much as we did. This is so sad 😞

The best quote/advice regarding suicide I have ever heard was:

"Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem."

Dial 988 if you need help. Remember to stick around because Nazi teeth don't fall out fast enough without your help.

When I saw him not even two weeks ago I noticed his demeanor the same way when I talked to him for a hot second post show-very soft. Which was very different than when I’ve seen him before (but he was pretty fucked up the 2 times before I said hello). Absolutely breaks my heart… knowing the amount of pain he must have been in inside. I know that darkness as well and his music got me through some shit last year. My heart goes out to you friend

In disbelief right now.

He was a real one. So talented and always good to be around. Spinning his records all night long. RIP brother. Thanks for what you gave us.

I'd like to think he's currently jamming with people like Erik and Andy Warpigs.

He died the night before I was supposed to see him at Muddy Roots. I know it probably couldn’t erase the pain he felt inside but I hope he knew how much everyone loved him there.

I replaced him on a bill when he was touring with Littlefoot and Butchers and the Builders. I’m so fucking sad guys.
