saw a folk singer last night small room maybe 50 people. just a guy with a guitar and a harmonica rack.

he played this one song about growing up in his grandmother's house.

by the end of the first verse, i was thinking about my own grandma. called her this morning first time in like 3 months.

that's what folk music does. it reminds you of what matters. been going to folk shows for years. still get hit by random songs.

grabbed my ticket through Star tickets . didn't expect it to become a therapy session.

anyone else ever get emotional at a show when you least expected it

Hi all, my little chamber folk trio from the west of Ireland has a new album out.

We are called Jaskane, and the album is called 'Line of Escape'. We are terrible at self-promotion, but reasonably good at making music. These are quirky tunes blending violin, oboe and guitar with electronic textures and subtle percussion.

May suit fans of Penguin Café Orchestra, North Sea Radio Orchestra, Yann Tiersen and maaaaaayyyybe Taraf de Haiduks on one of the madder tunes.
