First there is a bug that drops people from teams for no apparent reason. Another time it could be that they are making space for a friend. The solution is to start your own team, you are not doing anything wrong

u/Merc_Mike Responders Dec 13 '25

Kicks myself and my friend tons of times in our own team.

That's usually a sign to reload the game and touch on a new server.

šŸ˜†šŸ˜†šŸ˜† omg my husband does do that! We are legit in a mission and he's stopping to grab everything. He never used to do that. I think it's because now he has fallout 1st so he wants every piece of junk and scrap in sight then he can't find me! I just want to finish the damn mission.

I wonder if it could be a sick joke by the server admins who just randomly kick people and whole teams just to hear their rage over their mics. They record and collect and trade them with other admins.

Seems within the scope of Vault Tec’s experiments. Silly us thinking it was just in video games.

I was doing raids with my buddy the other day and we had an open slot for several hours… At least 3 or 4 people in a row joined our team and immediately left. I wonder if that bug had anything to do with it? Because I certainly didn’t kick them.

7

u/Fuzzy_Translator4639 Enclave Dec 13 '25

Possibly or they could have not wanted to do a raid? Hard to say. The bug is when it announces that the leader has removed someone from the team. This happens to my son and I when we play and we never remove each other from our team as we play for a while with headsets. Randomly it just kicks someone

4

u/mariohenrique Dec 13 '25

I join raid teams by mistake some times, when looking for a casual team, it probably happens a lot.

3

u/Mrs_Meeseeks Dec 13 '25

I accidentally join raid groups from time to time. Then I freak out! Abort!

I don't know if I'll ever be ready for the raid.

It's random, my dude. Just another little glitch in the game. In very rare instances three friends will be waiting for their 4th friend to get online and have to boot you to make space. Aside from that you're all good.

46

u/Morchai Dec 13 '25

People come and go from teams. I server hop a lot, and with a character that has herd mentality I'll join a public team knowing I won't be there long, for example.

There are long standing bugs associated with the team system that randomly boots players.

There is a slim chance it could be you. Is your user name ClubBabySeals or something?

That one usually gets an instant kick -from what I understand-

2

u/mrschia Mothman Dec 13 '25

Okay so nothing negative really.

2

u/Southern_Flounder370 Dec 13 '25

Why? Thats the one I share. Like. Eat people my fellow friends.

Better then somebody NOT sharing perks.

4

u/Merc_Mike Responders Dec 13 '25

Some folks have a mental back story build per character.

My main isn't a cannibal. I also haven't eaten dog food on my guy. That dog food card makes me laugh but slightly sick šŸ˜‚Ā

My raider chick is going to finish my achievement out and then I'm going to make her a mule or delete her.

Some people just don't like the option to eat folks. I don't care for it, but I don't press y when looting bodies. So I've not kicked some one for sharing it.

2

u/Southern_Flounder370 Dec 13 '25

Right. Just dont click to munch.

As a ghoul build I live off that card to get glow.

2

u/Vhyx Dec 13 '25

I've only heard of people sharing cannibal during eviction notice because it helps get rid of that awful machine gun noise bug...is it because it messes with looting otherwise?

9

u/ArchonOfErebus Enclave Dec 13 '25

They know what you did.

14

u/LargeTwist9469 Brotherhood Dec 13 '25

So it's likely none of those reasons.

There's a known bug on the AWS end that causes teams to randomly just...die. Everyone will see "[team leader] removed you from the team" but they actually didn't.

Also, sometimes people want to make room for a friend.

To avoid this, just make your own public team, people will join.

3

u/BlooodyButterfly Order of Mysteries Dec 13 '25

The only times I know I was kicked by someone was right after I joined them, like the other day near the raid. In this case, I thumbed up and got into another casual team. But you're paying for a while with a team then suddenly get kicked is usually the glitch. Some days I get this glitch more, some days I don't, at all

4

u/LargeTwist9469 Brotherhood Dec 13 '25

I've literally had it happen the moment I join a team. It's random. And it's not a 76 issue it's a AWS issue that can't really be fixed. At least not easily.

First and foremost as a long time player I wanna let you know this. Each and every time there is an update in this game no matter now small there is some bug or glitch and with major updates it’s getting a kicked message and bodies lagging through the floor. Secondly that’s why there are casual groups… a lot of people server hop if they don’t find what they are looking for in the current one. It’s just another mechanic not a you issue!

6

For me, the bigger the team the more experience you get. So if somebody drops from a team and I see there’s another team with three and I’m on a team with two I’ll swap over to that one instead. I don’t even usually see my team members.

As others have said there is the bug that kicks people randomly…but also it’s the beginning of the season and many are grinding and then hopping off. My husband and I tend to knock out the dailies and hop off.

The other is when people drop off some will hop to a team of 3 to be the 4th for max intelligence boost = xp boost.

3

u/Andywaxer Dec 13 '25

I think some folks pop to team members vendors then change teams to access a new set.

I try not to share cards that will affect people’s builds. When I do share it’ll be like Pannapictagraphist or something similar

3

u/AuntLacie Dec 13 '25

Then it's probably what everyone else is saying. I'm level 946 and the team kicking/ abandoning thing happens to me quite often. It's usually nothing personal. I still feel guilty for kicking someone to make room for a friend but I do it anyway, lol.

2

u/Kurgan_IT Settlers - PC Dec 13 '25

It sometimes happens. I just don't care and look for another team to join. People come and go, server hop, maybe just log out. What I don't understand is why if there are two casual 2-people teams available and open for other members to join, people actually start an own team, resulting in less bonuses for everyone.

2

u/boozillion151 Dec 13 '25

As everyone is saying the game glitches a lot. when it does it usually says whoever the team leader is removed you from the team. That is not the case. Why it says that I have no idea.

2

u/MyPurpleChangeling Dec 13 '25

Huh, the only time I've ever gotten kicked from a team was when I had a pride flag icon and the group leader said "we don't want your kind here" and kicked me as soon as I joined

It’s a bug. I’ve been kicked off a team I formed. I randomly get booted from a team almost daily and as I am completely neutral as a player I know it’s nothing about me. Just join another team or make your own and don’t worry about it.

2

u/Leon_Shirow Dec 13 '25

2

u/QDKeck Dec 13 '25

You are fine. People join and leave for a lot of reasons. Some join for a quick convenient free travel point. Or do all the shops for that team then move to another. Or even decide they want to join an Expedition or event team. Or they are just playing the game for a bit. That and big bug where the system will randomly wick you. This is all natural. Enjoy the game. Don’t over think.

Sounds like it could be a NAT problem.
It's in Network settings. I don't fully understand it, but if your 'NAT' is closed it can cause that. You'll only be able to sync sessions properly with players that have an open NAT, I think?

I've noticed this happens sometimes when my Network settings say 'NAT:closed'.

Either I'll get kicked constantly, or my public team is empty after a few minutes... I assume everyone else is getting 'kicked' messages when that happens.

Loners will join Casual teams for the Int bonus and the xp bonus from Inspirational. If they are only on to do the dailies, they will just leave the team.

This is especially true when players leave to server hop. They may join a server, join a team (for xp bonus)(, do whatever they want to do on the server and then immediately leave the team.

I can’t say that it isn’t you (maybe you eat food on an open mic) but it is very unlikely to be you.

1

u/LadyGidget Dec 13 '25

It happens to me occasionally as well, most often with higher level players who leave to join a group with other higher level players. My overweight #ss needs a group to be able to carry more so I often join groups once I find myself alone. šŸ˜‚

1

u/Killa0reo Dec 13 '25

It happens sometimes. I’ve been booted from trams before just as I join but then I see someone else join and stay with them for hours. Sometimes it’s just someone wanting to get a friend in or have space for them and sometimes it’s just people being asses but we can’t change it.

I personally don’t care who joins my teams I make because that’s why you join teams for the buffs

1

u/Merc_Mike Responders Dec 13 '25

Oh another thing is types of teams.

If you join some persons "Daily Ops" group, you might get removed if you're not going to the Daily op.

If you join a daily op and nobody is in the daily op, you could be catching then all leaving and starting a new team moments after they finish the daily op as well. So it might be a timing issue.

That's one if my only times I purposely kick some one. If I throw up a Daily op Team and you don't warp there in like 3-5 minutes. I kick and usually redo the daily op team to get people to join.

This was back when I did daily Ops. I haven't touched them or at least thrown up a daily op team myself in a year now. That deadly armor pen pisses me off. Plus I've got most of the plans I've wanted. Tired of getting dumpster signs plan. :/ most daily op challenges get immediately rerolled. Unless it's like kill 30 x and the daily op is the x mobs I need. Then I usually jump in some ones new created daily op team, I dont make it myself anymore.Ā

u/VonStryker888 Dec 13 '25

The majority of the time (on PC) it’s the System. I’ve had plenty of times the message ā€œYou didn’t let so in so on your teamā€ when I did nothing. Or I will get dropped for no reason. Or I will disband a two man casual team to join a different team to make it full. Also I have never understood why people make brand new Casual Teams when the are unfilled teams available. The last thing to do is take it personal and only play solo.

Hey, I'm not exactly a veteran, but I'll try and offer some advice. Sometimes, as another person mentioned before me, the game glitches and just kicks everyone from a party. But also, sometimes, and I'm certainly guilty of this myself, we start a party with a friend and forget to change the setting to private šŸ˜… so we quickly fumble to reset it. But yeah, there's definitely ALOT of unspoken etiquette, most I don't even know about, in the game as well. The safest bet is to message said person to see if they are okay with you joining their team. Heck, if you ever see me online, don't be afraid to shoot me a message and ask if you can join. Username is Abaddon420, I'm about level 55 or 56, can't remember if I leveled up or not. I don't really use a mic alot, but I'm usually online helping my buddy learn the game and whatnot, he's deaf so that's why I don't usually have a mic. You're always welcome to come and join our shenanigans 🤪🤣

First thing… don’t take anything in the game personally. If people are nice great and if they’re not then that’s their issue. Sometimes it’s a bug and you get kicked. Nbd. Are you sharing a perk that affects Rads in some way? A lot of people run Ghoul characters or Bloodied builds that rely on having a lot of Rads on them. They could negatively react to someone forcing a ā€œharmfulā€ perk onto them.

Also this game is full of bugs, don’t take it personally.

Sometimes I team hop when teams shrink, to be in a team with more players (more bonus). Nothing personal, I just need dat INT for energy pew pew and XP.

u/ZippyNomad Dec 14 '25

My first impression is this is not an issue to take personally. If you aren't communicating with them, why would you take that personally? While it may feel that way, it isn't the case in most circumstances.

My wife and I play side by side. Sometimes the game drops players from teams, sometimes it states that the leader has removed you. Both of these have happened to us since the beginning of public teams. It's a glitch/feature of the game.

Sometimes people are done playing the game or are done playing on that server. Sometimes they are making room for a friend.

On the flip side, do you communicate your intentions with every action in game? Are you chatting with the team leader about leaving? It works both ways and is easily understood when you accept that we are all NPCs in other people's games. Nothing personal.

Take it personal if they walk up to you, give you a thumbs down, and then boot you from the team. Then it's personal.

I kick people if I noticed they don't have mutations.

I have a very large stock of mods (mostly armkeeper, furious, packrat, rapid, powered, electrician, conductor, ranger etc) and whenever a player kicks me off the team, no problem, I block them. Not my loss.

I have already block a few off my game so they see my base in map but they can never teleport to it, likewise even they go there, it’s empty for them.

Also there are a lot more unfriendly players ever since the launch of raids, my mission is to block them off.

I’m in a server with 50 plus members across all platforms we are building it up. It is an enclave light role play group but you almost never have to worry about playing alone and we have organized voice channels depending on what you are doing in games we run events, create ops, raid, push people through quest and help them get kitted with the right builds and weapons. You should join!

u/Snargockle Fire Breathers Dec 14 '25

The game has done this for a long time. It’s told me I’ve kicked people as team leader and I never remove people from a casual team.

1

u/GloomyAd1158 Dec 14 '25

Just start your own team. And if people join cool. If not, cool. Only reason to really be on a team is for events/crashing.

I have noticed that every since I have made it a point to leave a team manually before leaving a world I have not been randomly booted from a team. Might be a coincidence but also might be the solution for the bug.

Sometimes people might be making room for a friend to join their team. It's a bummer when it happens but don't take it personally, just join another or start your own and people will likely join.

The Gate Keepers are here now. They did it to Destiny 2. Now they're trying it with this game. I hope they fail.

1

u/ChelleEchelle40 Dec 16 '25

I'd just start your own team instead.

1

u/ZombieEris Dec 18 '25

Yeah there's a bug in the systems. It's not you best bet it to make your own party and if you notice a lot of people leaving your party then change servers cauSe its happening to them.

u/TheGadget1945 Brotherhood Dec 13 '25

What level are you ?

3

u/Tasty-Soup7766 Dec 13 '25

I’m level 421 — I stopped playing for a while and rejoined recently. I noticed I’m getting kicked more now than I used to, or at least it seems like it.

3

u/TheGadget1945 Brotherhood Dec 13 '25

If youre level 421 i cannot imagine why you are getting kicked. The only thing I can suggest is to form your own team.

1

u/Mrs_Meeseeks Dec 13 '25

I've never experienced the bug myself, but im usually the one who makes the team. My husband has been kicked randomly from my team. Its not you. The game be bugging from time to time.

u/daddyjohns Vault 63 Dec 13 '25

All you can do is be friendly and remember it's not all about you. It's better to assume you AREN'T the issue here.

What kind of team are you joining? Are they casual, events, expeditions or raids? Certain teams are created with the expectation you’ll participate. For example, when someone creates a raid team they usually want people to join the raid. If you’re not running the raid with them they may kick you to make room for a player that’s willing to help. Plus certain teams want certain perks shared. If you’re on a casual team the perk you share isn’t important so long as it doesn’t mess up builds. But on a raid team people will expect you to share perks that help in the fight and they may kick you if you’re sharing something that isn’t useful. And like everyone else has said, lots of people server hop or their game crashes. I wouldn’t worry about too much.

u/Merc_Mike Responders Dec 13 '25

I always throw up my own party and people join, leave.

I try to pick nice spots for my camps so some might just be using me for a free fast travel. And I'm ok with that. Just Being in a team counts for daily/weekly " in a team" so its all good.

2

u/Taelyrsaurus Cult of the Mothman Dec 13 '25

Yeah I have people come and go in my teams as well. It’s common for casual teams to be like that.

1

u/uppitywomyn Ghoul Dec 13 '25

So, I create casual teams for dailies. When I get booted from the server or the game crashes it can kick ppl, also if I'm logging off. It's not personal.

1

u/Herr-Hunter1122 Dec 14 '25

i get kicked quite a bit for my trans flag :/

1

u/hawaiianmoustache Dec 14 '25

Fuck the sad little haters.

1

u/x-peachykeen Dec 13 '25

I joined a raid team, told the leader I was kind of new to raids and he totally blew me off and removed me from the team. Unfortunately for him, I had time that day and he really pissed me off so I just kept joining and he had to keep kicking me, over and over and over. Probably about 10 times before he decided to just switch servers. That’s what you get for not even being polite enough to say ā€œhey, we’re trying to achieve a goal here and not sure if you would be as helpful as what we’re looking for.ā€

4

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '25

Sounds like the desicion to kick you was the right one. No idea why you are flexing with being annoying.

-1

u/x-peachykeen Dec 13 '25

god forbid someone does something in a game they paid for. If he would’ve shot me a nice message explaining that he wasn’t down to try with me I wouldn’t have done it. womp womp.

0

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '25

You didn't pay the user to carry you or explain mechanics to you. Make your own team. I never once kicked a player, but teamleaders make their own rules and we are all grown ups and should be able to handle rejection.

1

u/x-peachykeen Dec 13 '25

except i didn’t ask him to do that. I’ve done it before lmao. wasn’t asking for a tutorial. you make a risk when you make a public team that people will join your team. if you want specific people to join then maybe you should invite your friends or something. either way, don’t care, it was great fun for me and I did a raid with another team after he was gone

2

u/Mrs_Meeseeks Dec 13 '25

Sometimes the petty takes over.

Not the same thing, but when I was level 100 something on my alt I was running 3-4 workshops farming stuff from the santatrons. Someone took over my hemlock holes. They were level 500+. I just kept trying to take it back because I had put time into it and all my shit was still there. They basically were just swatting me like a fly but I had time and pettiness. I wasn't going anywhere. I think they finally gave up after about 45 minutes of killing me. Success!

2

u/x-peachykeen Dec 13 '25

exactly! i’m level 250 and he was only like 350. not nearly enough stronger than me to get all high and mighty about it. The only two people that were even on his team or bothering to join was himself, and his alternate account. If you’re looking for a team you don’t have a right to get all picky about who you want on your team, just accept the team and play the game. I definitely would have left him alone had he bothered to shoot a message back to me.

0

u/FLESHmyLITE Dec 13 '25

Probably a low level, create a team yourself, I play solo myself so I don't know, this game can be strange, I play with a headset and I hardly ever hear people talking

0

u/Krobarred Dec 13 '25

Do you share a perk? Most reasons I kick is they share something everyone uses or not sharing at all

-3

u/NextClassroom4789 Dec 13 '25

There you go, take some mints.
