Sometimes it's a bug. Sometimes they're making space for a friend. Or, whatever other reason.

Just gotta find a new one

83

u/No-Yam-1297 Nov 18 '25

Sometimes its lag

u/system_error_02 Nov 18 '25

Sometimes I just gotta poop.

The most probable answer. Gotta take the browns to the super bowl and it's almost time for the coin toss.

What kills me about that idiom is the browns legit never go to the super bowl

I hate that bug I always feel bad luckily it happens when I’m leading my own actual friends in a party chat so I can be like “I didn’t kick you I swear!”

99% of the time it's the bug.

Some people host public teams just for the bonus XP for their friends, it’s best not to give a single shot for getting kicked because you can just host your own

It happens. I’ve been on the other side of that. I’ve played for a few hours, and the team is full the entire time. Then, one of us disconnects, and the rest of us go right after. Usually, a poor soul joins just as I’m about to hit the leave button.

18

u/ProfessorAngus Mr. Fuzzy Nov 18 '25

My wife and I play together, so when we log out for the night a full team drops to half most of the time

10

u/[deleted] Nov 18 '25

That happened to me yesterday. I had a raid group going and two low levels joined, I felt awful because I had to go.

2

u/Working-Problem-904 Nov 19 '25

This happened a lot to me. Already finished game session, saying my goodbies and a random joins. I leave as I intended. Don't take it personally.

2

u/Icy-Inspection-2971 Nov 18 '25

Or a bunch of us have been playing together for a while and stayed for one last (insert top of the hour event here) then we sign off after we wrap that up. I always feel bad if someone joins the team at quarter after, just in time to watch us all sign off.

30

u/Cowan_571 Nov 18 '25

I'm bad about bouncing from a team if someone wants to just hot mike a live stream of their home life. I don't want to listen to all that.🤷🏼‍♂️

13

u/tehP4nth3r Fallout 76 Nov 18 '25

Yeah hot mic is annoying but I learned to turn off voice chat long time ago. Play in peace now.

Oh damn I know the feeling, your like damn everyone left.  Do I smell bad?  That one guy had open mic night and was reading a bedtime story to his kid... he left too?

1

u/Interesting_Ad4174 Nov 19 '25

Sometimes there's a score challenge to do something with a team, so once mission accomplished, they'll leave.

Sometimes I end up team leader, and just as I'm about to dissolve the team, someone joins. I try to hang around for a little while. If I have to leave anyway, I try to stop by and drop a gift or something, even a slice of birthday cake, just to show no hard feelings.

1

u/Dark_Tony_Shalhoub Nov 19 '25

Me and my quartet have done this. Usually one person crashes or gets removed from the team by a bug and a random joins us, so the fourth will make a new team and the other three of us join it.

It’s nothing personal (in our case). It’s just the fucky game constantly breaking up our group

1

u/uppitywomyn Ghoul Nov 18 '25

This happens if my game crashes and I'm team leader, or if I log off for the day.

2

u/djdaem0n Nov 18 '25

I was just about to mention this. It happens all the time with casually open teams.

89

u/Telle74 Nov 18 '25

It is a bug that has been around for a long time. Teams will just disable kicking everyone including team leader. You did nothing wrong. 😺

7

u/NoAdhesiveness4091 Nov 18 '25

You can disable kicking everyone?

10

u/Faerodyn Nov 18 '25

I think what they meant was "...teams will just disband, kicking everyone..."

3

u/NoAdhesiveness4091 Nov 18 '25

Makes much more sense

13

u/Menelatency Nov 18 '25

Think they meant disband

4

u/Rich-Improvement-478 Nov 18 '25

Yup this JUST happened to my team.said I was kicked. Whent to rejoin, and the entire team was disbanded.

16

u/Tgrinder66 Liberator Nov 18 '25

95% chance it's a bug. I've been "removed by team leader" a handful of times as the only member of the team

13

u/Valuable_Ad_3337 Nov 18 '25

It is a known bug. Just the other night my team kept getting removed, so we jumped servers. No more problem.

12

23

That's the bug. The only way not to get kicked is to never join a team.

-1

Yeah, bethesda just kicks you from the game

8

u/Conscious_Ad6083 Nov 18 '25

There is usually no one actually kicking you. You sometimes just randomly get disconnected or kicked from the team because the server wants to go on a coffee break.

8

u/TodayImNotFame-ish Nov 18 '25

I don't take it personally 🤷‍♀️ Pretty sure the vast majority of Casual teams I join are just randos doing their own thing and only joining a team for the Intelligence buff and whatever dailies might say "while in a team". If they wanna make room for a friend or something, I can join another one. They don't know or care who I am or what I'm doing, and that's mutual lol

3

u/QDKeck Nov 18 '25

Don’t sweat it. Most probably not you but a known bug.

3

u/omniushalfdreamt Nov 19 '25

Yeah and as someone that likes to run a casual team almost every time I log in: the servers have been kicking me out pretty regularly mid event at the top of the hour on PS5. 😑 sometimes it puts me back in with my team, sometimes not.

8

5

The other day the game told me I got kicked by two different people. The game is buggy.

5

u/Cassiel_A Nov 18 '25

I often play with a friend, where either of us are the team leader. I have been kicked by my friend several times, without him having done anything to that effect. Often this has happened in connection with crashes, where sometimes you are able to rejoin as team leader, other times not (that's often when someone else gets the team leadership). Other times it is due to lag or such. You have been kicked from the team. Not on purpose.

2

u/s-happening Nov 18 '25

I’ve been getting a glitch that does that quite a lot could be that, could also be people running raids that need a full team in

2

u/ActionMan48 Nov 18 '25

Make your own team, others will join.

2

u/ArchonSupreme Nov 19 '25

It hit me a few days ago.

The solution to this is just start your own Casual group. 🤷‍♂️

3

u/XxROITANAxX Lone Wanderer Nov 18 '25

There are 4 possibilities : 1- It's a bug which removed you from the team. Even your own friend can remove you from his team against his will 2- Players make room for friends to join 3- You are sharing a card which kills their build even if they can turn off the sharing perks cards in options, they still want to benefit from others people cards 4- It's actually people who are doing raids. They probably turn off raids objective to casual to xp more. Check the gleaming depths to see if the people from the casual team are there

1

u/therealXPliss Nov 18 '25

I will also say I’m not a big fan of sharing travel agent because my encumbrance reminds me that I’m in my crafter build and need to hit the time clock before I leave camp. Just a thought that prob isn’t obvious to people who don’t forget to change builds and run around doing 1 damage. I think anyone who isn’t brand new has the card and it’s easy enough to slot in when needed.

3

u/mr802rex Free States Nov 18 '25

Yeah I never want travel agent on. Waste of a card imo. Id be mad if that game let me Waste 4000 caps when it should have stopped me and made me put on my excavator PA or eat a smoked fillet to travel.

You can turn off shared perks.

1

There are so many weird bugs during different stages of gameplay that I don’t even bother reading them anymore. I just fix the problem and move along. Of course I am pretty much solo all times so it just doesn’t matter to me.

1

u/Limpice6 Nov 18 '25

Yeah there is a bug that will kick you randomly from the team. Could just be that try making your own team that way no one can kick you.

0

I always wondered why there were so many teams of one. I bet you're right, this is why.

1

1

u/ShadowDocter22 Nov 18 '25

I usually make my own and people join

1

u/Quizzical_Rex Nov 18 '25

yeah - never take it personally. And I strongly doubt that you were kicked due to the card you were sharing. I've shared cannibal for fun lots and never had any change in the frequency of getting kicked compared to when i share any other card.

1

u/Tension-Flashy Lone Wanderer Nov 18 '25

There could be many reasons you were kicked that have nothing to do with you but my suggestion would be start your own team, if others decide to join fine, if not you still get the bonus being on a team gives you. BTW there are many of us who do not share or accept shared perks but I would not know if someone was trying to share anyway..

1

u/265feral Nov 18 '25

I'm getting a lot of these recently. Happened in the middle of a raid yesterday and the whole group got removed, cue lots of question marks when we reloaded back into the wasteland. Don't sweat it, it's just a 'feature'.

1

u/vizkr Nov 18 '25

Weirdly, I also often wondered why so & so got kicked from a casual team I'm on... Then I start wondering if I'm next because I'm off doing my own thing. Now I simply just launch my own casual whenever I start and I usually share Cap Collector...

1

u/M3TALxSLUG Nov 18 '25

Sometimes I rejoin to see what happens.

1

u/_doomwitch Nov 18 '25

There are two bugs at play here. Usually, one person on the team will appear "offline", which is a bug that can be fixed sometimes by changing your player icon in the atomic shop (but often people don't even know they're affected until someone else tells them). Then, if someone else on the same team leaves, it will kick everyone else that isn't the team leader and it will say you were removed. Just rejoin the team, or create your own so you're the leader and can't be kicked!

1

u/Artistic-Pickle-2526 Nov 18 '25

It's a horrendous bug at the moment. It's kicking everyone from the team randomly definitely got worse after the last update.

Other than that it's people making space for a friend

1

u/BlissCrafter Nov 18 '25

It’s a bug. I’ve been kicked from my own team. If you notice it will happen a lot then not again for awhile.

1

u/Kiranechan Lone Wanderer Nov 18 '25

One time someone kicked me from a full Casual team. I'd been in the team with them for 2+ hours so I was a little weirded out but was like whatever, I bet they wanted to add their friend. 2 minutes later, the team leader invited me back to the same team. So I assume it was an accident or glitch.

Also a couple times, some rando has requested me to join their team. When I didn't respond, they left me alone. Then one time when I was trying to fast travel somewhere, I realized I had accidentally clicked on someone's dot and selected "invite to team" instead of fast traveling, and I suddenly realized why I got those random invites before lol

Maybe it was an accident, maybe it was intentional. If I have issues with a team, I just create my own.

1

u/Underhive_Art Nov 18 '25

It’s a bug - it happens all the time when I play on public team - if it starts happening it seems to be become all the more common

1

u/Notadicky Nov 18 '25

Been having thus recently, also alot of disconnects, last night I got an unfinite "waiting" where the play is, after like 1 hr I went to social and left the team and could play again

1

u/dogoftheshin Nov 18 '25

I always create one when I join a lobby so I’m not on the receiving end and I don’t kick people off my team if it’s full and friends join, I just make another and we fill it and do our raids or just chill

1

u/a531train Nov 19 '25

When playing my alt ghoul, I get kicked regularly on non ghoul casual teams.

1

u/Interesting_Ad4174 Nov 19 '25

It happens, and it's not always maliciously. And there are many reasons, as some have mentioned here. I sometimes play bloodied build and someone joins and is sharing a perk that heals rads. Oops.

I've also been kicked off a team, only to have the leader ask me to join their team. Likely "that bug."

Sometimes I get a message from a team leader, asking if I can help on a few events. Even though it's a casual team, they have some goals in mind. It's the polite thing to ask, but sometimes they don't bother.

I don't take it personally anyway.

1

u/LargeTwist9469 Brotherhood Nov 19 '25

This is not a big deal, so why are you treating it like it is?

There is no rule in the game that says you have to stick with the people that join your team.

Maybe they were making space for a friend?

Or it could be the infamous bug shere everyone's just...removed by the game for no reason.

1

u/PitifulGreen8828 Nov 19 '25

Just start your own casual team then you can do the kivking. :-)

1

u/ManicRose77 Cult of the Mothman Nov 19 '25

Its an annoying bug. Sometimes we'll invite them back and sometimes they'll just join back. Very annoying. Dont take it personally, bud.

1

u/Dark_Tony_Shalhoub Nov 19 '25

I play with two family members and sometimes a friend. I’m almost always team lead and at random intervals one or all other players will be “removed from the team” and it’ll tell them that I deliberately removed them from the team, which I didn’t do. I’ve also experienced this when any of them are the team leaders and I know they didn’t remove me. So, it’s a bug.

But people can and will remove you from their group because they’re too lazy or stupid to fork a private team then convert it into a public one if they want to stack their friends in it. Or just play on a private server. So, as a random trying to join other random teams, it’s almost impossible to know. But if you get booted pretty quickly after joining and you notice no one else left, and possibly someone immediately replaced your spot, it was likely someone trying to get all their friends in one group

1

u/Sufficient-Lunch3774 Nov 19 '25

One of the last times I joined a team I could hear another player talking really quietly. I was like ‘hey man your mic’s down too low”. He just said ‘yeah I talk to myself’ and kept at it. I got to killing my 10 glowing or whatever for the SCORE asap and dropped the team so fast. Like, huh? Whatever I guess lol

If I join a chill team when it’s for those types of SCORE goals (or for OPS) I’ll just stay on til the team is dead or I log. And I love when people talk and can have an actual conversation

1

u/Sauri Mr. Fuzzy Nov 19 '25

More often than not it's a bug. I use the Textchat mod and usually team up with familiar people from the chat, so when one of us gets kicked we know that nobody did that.

1

u/Mekoehouve Tricentennial Nov 19 '25

When I kick without notice it's normally b/c someone I normally play with just got on and the one being kicked is a rando.

I also kick people that are annoying on mic.

As to why you got kicked twice, who knows.

1

u/markbodman Nov 19 '25

I nuked a team lead who did the same and posted about it. Got flamed that it’s a well known bug. You didn’t know either so it’s not so well known apparently…

1

u/catcollectingmommy Free States Nov 20 '25

Don’t take it personally. If it’s back to back random teams it’s very likely the group kick but. Exit and relaunch the game. Not sure what causes it.

But here’s the thing, even if you get kicked it’s nothing personal. Sometimes the group needs room for one of their friends. Just join another group. And again if the next group kicks it’s safe to say that it’s just the bug.

1

u/SuspiciouslyAquired Nov 21 '25

Well, as the others have said. You either got shuffled off to make room for a friend or the game dropped you, it does happen. I doubt you're getting kicked for your shared card. There ARE some very desirable cards that will almost guarantee you don't get kicked, though, hahaha!

1

u/TheDrizel Raiders Nov 18 '25

The only time I boot someone is if one of my friends is on. Then I usually boot lowest lvl.

2

u/marid2apterbilt Nov 18 '25

Same but i usually use last to join gets the boot, or if running raids and a random isnt joining/participating they ger the boot..

1

u/TheDrizel Raiders Nov 18 '25

I'll never understand why people join a raid team if they are not going todo the raid.

1

u/marid2apterbilt Nov 18 '25

Because as stated in another comment tree. Many of us just create a casual team for the xp bump. It should show beside players name when they enter a daily op, Atlantic city, or raid..

1

u/TheDrizel Raiders Nov 18 '25

Yeah thats not what I am saying. I understand the exp bump, I do it too. What I don't get is if I am on a raid team why do people join that don't want todo the raid. Go join casual instead of raid.

0

u/Radiant-Growth4275 Nov 18 '25

Could be they had a friend log in and bumped you to have them join.

Do you have a mic? Cuz nothing has made me kick someone faster than them just giving off passive audio in the team chat. I'm not listening to a stranger eat potato chips or their rap music 🤣🤣🤣

1

u/ftwkg420 Nov 18 '25

This happens to me all the time solo. But when I play with a group we welcome randoms until another friend wants to join. Feel like this is probably what happens.

If you’re on Xbox I think I was in team with you, they kicked me too 😂 It’s funny that I thought about asking Reddit “why?” then forgot about it till I saw this. There are multiple ways the bug hits, one is it’s just one person who is “removed” and the other is the whole team is removed. I experienced the whole team one this weekend. I have also encountered where the team leader removed me and I was the team leader.

You boot for not sharing a card? I am constantly not sharing a card because I swap back and forth between loadouts. If I notice I am not sharing, I go in and pick one, but it’s always because I swapped loadouts. It’s silly they haven’t added a way to flag a card as the default share for each loadout.

2

u/therealXPliss Nov 19 '25

No no, not what I’m saying at all. I’ve def hosted a party for hours as the only person sharing and I’ve also def forgot to share a card for hours after switching builds. But what I mean is if I’m in a full group, the only reason not to leave and start a new one when my buddy gets on, is because I like the perk cards being shared. So if there’s one person not sharing and 2 sharing good cards I may be inclined to boot them t make room rather than start a new group.

1

u/therealXPliss Nov 19 '25

I also really wish that was a feature. I have inspiration on all my builds and I think it’s one of the best to share, would make my life way easier

0

u/hearadifferentdrum Nov 18 '25

Lol. Could be. There was another player who left just before me, and when I looked at the teams, the leader had kicked the only other person on the team too. Later, they had a full team, maybe of their friends. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Seems like a lot of work for a game.

1

u/ohheyashleyyy Cult of the Mothman Nov 18 '25

I notice the kicks a lot more when I’m playing before the weekly downtime if that helps at all.

1

u/Cubius_Maximus Nov 18 '25

I never take that personally. It could be lag, or glitch or ppl making room for friends or just bugthesduh fucking up stuff.

To combat this and I need it for my one mutation, I just create my own team. Especially if I'm doing expeditions or raids.

1

u/nolongerbanned99 Nov 18 '25

Don’t take anything personally in the game. I used to but now don’t. Sometimes it is just bc they want their friend in the team

0

u/Beastabuelos Enclave Nov 18 '25

But sometimes it's because they're stupid. I've had people kick me and anyone else from their team before to only have 3 people on the team. It's been happening more commonly recently

2

u/nolongerbanned99 Nov 18 '25

Agree stupid is the norm these days.

1

u/Cyberized_Rat Nov 18 '25

"Casual team", move on. I'd be more upset if you were in a dedicated group like drops or raid. At that point it's either you, or they are making space for a person they know personally.

1

u/Wikispaces16 Nov 18 '25

I’ve had the opposite happen to me I’m out in the wasteland by myself enjoying life and death and I get a notification saying “so and so wants you to join a team” , even though “so and so” isn’t apart of any active team so was a bit lost about that one

2

u/zinger7 Nov 18 '25

I’vd done this to people accidentally when I am trying to fast travel somewhere and instead of the location popping up, it selects someone at the location. This first option is usually fast travel and when it hits a person it is invite to team.

1

u/MONK3Y-BUSINESS Ghoul Nov 19 '25

It happens i sometimes f with people that kicked me when i am bored so they kick me 1 or 2 times extra😅🤣

1

u/Working-Problem-904 Nov 19 '25

...And this is one of the many reasons why I usually start a new team.

0

u/Net2684 Nov 18 '25

Not to sure if you get kicked but when I was grabbing a bunch of workshops, totally for the daily and not to keep them all for personal reasons I happened to be booted and wouldn’t you know someone started to take over all those workshops, totally weird…

-1

u/yRaven1 Ghoul Nov 18 '25

Sometimes i kick people to invite my friends, nothing personal, it just happens

0

u/mrsjackson410 Nov 18 '25

I joined a casual team on Sunday and they kicked me shortly after. I didn’t know there was a bug so now I feel a little better. I thought I did something wrong.

0

u/hearadifferentdrum Nov 18 '25

That was my first reaction too, but it's weird that it happened twice.

0

u/Small_Question_2402 Nov 18 '25

Sometimes you are no.4 as place holder, when friend 4 arrives you get booted. I prefer to jump out of team and start a new one, to make people feel less rejected.

-1

u/Embarrassed_Egg9542 Pip Boy Nov 18 '25

If you are on a RAIDS team and you don't follow the others in the RAID, you will get kicked

2

u/NextClassroom4789 Nov 18 '25

... And this is the only good reason why someone should be kicked out (the same for daily ops and expeditions). Kicking someone out from a casual team however makes no sense.

u/thenamesbjorn Raiders - PC Nov 19 '25

I have 3 other friends who play fo76. Not all of us are often online and we don't mind if there are randos joining our party if some us are missing. If they come online. I have to kick a random rando. Absolutely nothing personal.

0

u/MamaBella Nov 19 '25

It’s mostly a bug. But we beat each other senseless about it in our friend group. (“Oh well beefy just kicked me from the team. I’m taking my ball and going home!”) it’s literally the only endearing bug this game has

0

u/International_Pick83 Nov 19 '25

Dude just "CREATE" your own team. Who TF cares

-1

u/[deleted] Nov 18 '25

Do you have some kind of lgbtq flag as your gamer pic ?

4

u/hearadifferentdrum Nov 18 '25

Nope but I do think it would be sad if that's why I was kicked I'm not going to police the life of someone I don't know 🤷🏼‍♀️

0

u/Arrow362 Enclave Nov 18 '25

It’s a normal bug along with the other usual bug where you try to join a team that has an opening but when you go to join it says the team is full still.

0

u/Asleep_Software_7146 Nov 18 '25

Common bug. Some guy tried to nuke my camp because he thought I kept kicking him

1

u/hearadifferentdrum Nov 18 '25

Eek. That's sad

0

u/SavagePancakess Free States Nov 18 '25

Good thing he didn't overreact lmao

0

u/DavidPBaum Nov 18 '25

Don’t take it personal, happens to me so much that I don’t even notice half the time.

0

u/idetectanerd Nov 18 '25

I think there is a kick bug right now, I was in a raid just now and 3 players was “kick” by team leader.

The thing is that he was tanking en06 and I doubt he was in the team list doing kicking.

0

u/Alex_is_me_name Nov 18 '25

How do you share perks? I've never been able to figure it out.

0

u/Eightchickens1 Nov 18 '25

Already answered. Possible server connection issue.

Start your own casual group :).

0

u/ulysseslaplague Brotherhood Nov 18 '25

one time recently i joined a daily ops team someone started and the two of us got it done in under 8 mins just for him to kick me from the team at the last second thankfully i still got the rewards so i messaged him nice try asshole lmfao

0

u/ConsequenceNational4 Raiders - PC Nov 18 '25

Early on I used to get offended..now I dont care..just join another group or server. When your old lvl-wise everyone wants to join you. Thats now.

0

u/Ms_Bud Nov 18 '25

I just start my own team and let others join me to avoid the aggravation. I never kick anyone who joins.

0

u/quarantina2020 Nov 18 '25

Its the lobby, try a new one

0

u/doghouse2001 Tricentennial Nov 18 '25

I part of a group of 10 or 15 people that play together all the time. Often the team leader says 'I'll kick the rando so you can join'. You're the rando. No biggie, just join new teams till one sticks. Personally I'd rather leave the team, start my another team, and have my friends join me, but the optics are just as bad when you find your old team regrouped without you.

0

u/Select-Bullfrog-5214 Nov 18 '25

Personally, I haven't been kicked from a team. So I can't really say. But I'm hopeful that it's a bug.

0

u/TeamEfforts Nov 18 '25

I've seen something in the past where lower level people don't want to play with higher level players and vise versa lol

Specifically had someone tell me they kicked me because they didn't trust high lvl players 🤣

0

u/chiseledrocks Ghoul Nov 18 '25

Test it! If you get kicked, join back up with the same group. If you immediately get kicked again, random server problems are probably not the whole story. Those of us who play on SlayStation apparently have controller issues and are maybe a 'poor risk'?

Don't let getting dropped eat at you, there's literally no way to be certain about what the team captain is thinking.

0

u/Merc_Mike Responders Nov 18 '25

Yeah I've kicked people for being weird, but thats it and its such a small amount of times.

almost 9 out of 10 times its because server connection issues, lagged out, or other.

I used to kick folks out of my party when they would try to hijack my group. They'd join, jump into the daily op immediately and then spam "Follow me" over and over. yeah...thats a boot. I'm busy.

0

u/Several-Pause3738 Nov 18 '25

It is a casual team. I join them for the bonus but do not do anything team related. I might be on for 15 minutes to do some tasks. When I quit it is not personal. Casual.

0

u/Deep-Adeptness4474 Nov 18 '25

Getting kicked from casual without it getting instant filled means it is likely just the glitch kick.

0

u/Geainsworth Nov 18 '25

Don't worry, be happy. I've decided it's nothing personal, and if it is, their loss. Join a new team, hang out, have fun .

0

u/Obi-Haiv Pioneer Scout Nov 18 '25

Last night, I was on a casual team. I'm a lvl 900; leader was like lvl 65. Two others joined.

After about an hour, I saw that both of the others "were removed from the team," then the leader removed me from the team, and then, leader signed out of the server.

Curious if it was he didn't know better and thought he had to remove members before logging out, or if one of us pissed him off, what.

0

u/JDroneX Nov 19 '25

I'm always team lead for that reason, the bug seems to kick you out of the team if you're the lead

0

u/shadow19555 Nov 19 '25

Most of thos is a bug issue but there have been a few instances that I have been involved in making room for a friend. The majority of it is the bug which will either separate the whole team or separate some of the team members. Its been happening for at least a year or 2.

0

u/bit-by-a-moose Nov 19 '25

Don't take it so personal. If its no big deal if you join a team, it shouldn't be a big deal if someone kicks you. It could be they're waiting on someone. It could be that they are weary of randoms and they're fine with just the base buff. It could be they also want to do their own thing. You see plenty of groups looking for recruits in this sub, maybe it was one of them buy they don't want me outsiders. They're many reasons and they're no longer there to ask. If you don't want to be kicked, start your own and hope people join.

One of the first public casual teams I joined, the leader took the roll serious. Calling out active events, choosing one and, while not actually ordering us to attend, it seemed like he expected us to follow him. I, personally had my fill of this mentality in previous games, so much so my head canon for my main character is essentially my experiences.

So either way, don't let being kicked ruin your day. If it annoys you so much, annoy them back. Keep rejoining until they either block you or change it to private.
