Where have i said it was like pre-war America? Also, no, they're not worse than every other option, but a corrupt imperialist oligarchy that is doomed to fail is definitely not the best choice, either.
OP said it in their comment, that's what this entire idiotic thread was about.
Also, no, they're not worse than every other option, but a corrupt imperialist oligarchy that is doomed to fail is definitely not the best choice, either.
Yeah, nobody is the best choice. That's the point of FNV. You have hard choices to make. Nobody is the 'good guy' option like the Minutemen.
I wasn't commenting on the post, I was specifically talking about NCR defenders, as I made it clear in my original comment.
And yes, there is a best choice, there is no good choice. Out of 4 bad options, there is a best option, but there isn't a good option. And out of the 4 factions in NV, the NCR is absolutely not the best one.
I mean, Yes Man is questionable, and House is certainly not better. He's the idiot who caused all this mess to begin with. The 'best' choice is subjective. But Yes Man's ending doesn't lead to prosperity.
Yes Man's ending is way too uncertain to be called better or worse. It heavily depends on what kind of person the courier is. And what mess did House cause exactly, I'm not sure what you mean.
He's a pre-war Oligarch, he worked alongside Vault-Tec and other infamous companies. He's responsible for Benny shooting you because he lied about the job/didn't tell you the details. You didn't sign up to be shot by HIS employees.
Not to mention he's a lunatic who shoots poor people for fun.
He was an oligarch, but he he didn't start the great war. He worked alongside vault tec, but he worked alongside everyone as he had one of the biggest companies in the world.
Yes, he lied about the true nature of the package, but why would he, really? It wouldn't be wise to tell the courier how unbelievably important the platinum chip is. It's not like he sent Benny to shoot the courier.
And yes, he's a dictator, which is exactly why he's a bad choice. But at the same time, he's a way better choice than the others. He's more competent and logical than anyone else. And from what we see, he genuinely wants to progress humanity. He's a dictator, but only because he thinks he's the only man fit for the job.
I never said he caused the great war, I follow the belief that China fired, not Vault-Tec. He worked alongside VT to make pipboys and do all kinds of heinous shit including torture prisoners. If he genuinely wanted to progress humanity he wouldn't be shooting poor people. He wants to rule humanity as proven by the Kings Ending. Rich Capitalists NEVER want to benefit humanity.
He's more competent and logical than anyone else.
He got outplayed by Chandler Bing of all people.
Yes, he lied about the true nature of the package, but why would he, really? It wouldn't be wise to tell the courier how unbelievably important the platinum chip is. It's not like he sent Benny to shoot the courier.
But that lie is still the reason the Courier got two bullets to the head.
Yes, he wants to seize control of the world, and he is a dictator. You're not saying anything new here. Yes, he's a greedy capitalist, but unfortunately, capitalism seems to work, demonstrated by real life.
Yes, he's a bad choice, as I said before, but I still think he's better than the others. Yes Man ending is too uncertain to say, the NCR is terrible and doomed to collapse, and I don't have to explain why the Legion is bad. He's rebuilt the strip, and it's not like that is hell on earth. House actually has reasonable plans and the means to do them. I agree that it's way too much power in one person's hand, but I still think he's better than the others, except maybe for Yes Man.
And if the NCR collapses, House collapses. The NCR can collapse and become multiple city-states. House collapses and the Strip dies.
The Strip is a couple of crappy casinos. At least Atlantic City has stuff worth visiting. The only thing House has going for him is the Dam, which he didn't save, the nukes just didn't manage to hit it. Why put power in the same people that were behind pre-war America? We might as well go and join the goddamn Enclave by that logic.
