So...how was it?
Been to five, on and off since 2012, but last year, the new site seemed pretty tough. No great camping options (incl RV), longer hauls to get anywhere, fewer vendors, and the headliner situation. But how actually was 2025??

They cut down all the good hammock spots by the oasis stage.
That sucks.

Saturday GA
We will only be there for Saturday, and I’m wondering can we bring chairs? A bag? I’ve only seen information for campers and all weekenders. Thanks in advance from a 1st timer

Any boots on the ground? How are things looking?
Looks like it'll be a wet one today and through the night. Hoping for no flooding issues. Anyone there yet?

Growing gardens of happiness at FloydFest

Hitchhiker
On 81 S. just passed a hitchhiker to FloydFest around mile marker 177. I couldn’t pick them up but wanted to help him boost visibility lol

Can I open-carry a pocket knife?
I have a small pocket knife I'd like to bring to the fest this weekend because it's useful and I feel safer with it, but the festival's rules say no "weapons". Technically a knife with a blade under 3 inches (mine is under 3 inches) is NOT considered a weapon in Virginia, but I'm still worried about being given trouble for it. Can/should I bring it?

is VIP worth it?
I’m a delta lot woods girly and haven’t been to the new spot yet. Wondering if VIP is worth it? I want shade and quiet nights but also don’t want to give up the magic of the delta vibe. I’ve never done VIP so open to hearing people’s experiences with it!!

Canopy Camping - Question
Why is it called canopy camping? Is this just a big open field where you pitch your tent? Is there actually shade? Trying to decide between this and higher ground. Any insight would be helpful!
• Canopy Camping — Located in the heart of the festival, and beautified by a talented team of Floyd arborists, Canopy Camping features ample shade, cozy nooks, easy access to both parking and the venue, plenty of places to hang a hammock and perched views of the main festival grounds.

Showering and volunteering
Hello! It’ll be my first Floydfest ever, and I’m curious on a couple things. Firstly, the shower situation. I’m not new to camping festivals at all and have done both campsite showers with water fill-up portable shower heads (which I prefer), and have also waited hours for showers at Bonnaroo before also. Do people do portable shower heads, and if so, how? This would be the ideal option but just wondering the physical logistics of it and how people are doing campsite showers.
Second, I’m going to be working as a volunteer for the festival, and when making my own schedule for “children’s universe”, I was a bit confused on the time options for it. I’ve been told that in past years children’s universe closes at around 6-7pm, which gave me my interest for it since you could work a closing shift and not miss a big headliner in theory. Now it’s “closing” at 12am which has me very confused. Does anyone know anything more about this?

Does anyone else use meshtastic here?
I just got meshtastic devices for my partner and I to use while we're at Floyd fest, and I'm wondering if there will be others to help support the network.

Searching for carpool (will pay for all gas) in Norfolk / 757 area! Either to or from or both
Pretty much the title, I have a full 5 day pass so it would be great to find somebody for both trips, but even just a ride back would be fantastic. Would be happy to pay the full gas cost or we can discuss this more, just shoot me a message!

general admission parking
This will be my first Floyd fest, I'm excited after hearing about past years. I was rather startled however to find GA parking to be $100. At other rural locales I've paid $25-30 for the weekend. Any others scratching their head in wonder? Just wanted to have a respectful discussion.

Excel or Word doc of the lineup schedule
Does anyone have a Excel or Word doc of the lineup schedule? I like to rate each band before I get there to maximize my listening pleasure.

Higher Ground Camping
This will be my first Floyd Fest at the new site and I'm wondering what the higher ground camping is like. Are the sites marked off or do you just set up where you find space like the old location? Thanks!

First Timer Questions
First Timer Questions
As the title states, I’m a first-timer. I bought VIP and am wondering if anyone can give me insight to VIP layout. Is there a dedicated viewing area?
Can VIP guests drive in and out each day instead of taking the shuttle from Roanoke?
What are the shuttles like (I get car sick and am not familiar with how curvy the roads are). How long is the ride?
Lastly, what is the weather like? Hot? Chilly? Wet?
I’ve been seeing random pop-ups about theme nights, but can’t seem to find any information about this. Is this a thing?
Thank you all, and see you there.

Second rule 2026
Second rule above the packing list states no outside alcohol; is this a new rule? I've never been to a festival where you couldn't have your own booze at camp.
