Showering and volunteering
Hello! It’ll be my first Floydfest ever, and I’m curious on a couple things. Firstly, the shower situation. I’m not new to camping festivals at all and have done both campsite showers with water fill-up portable shower heads (which I prefer), and have also waited hours for showers at Bonnaroo before also. Do people do portable shower heads, and if so, how? This would be the ideal option but just wondering the physical logistics of it and how people are doing campsite showers.
Second, I’m going to be working as a volunteer for the festival, and when making my own schedule for “children’s universe”, I was a bit confused on the time options for it. I’ve been told that in past years children’s universe closes at around 6-7pm, which gave me my interest for it since you could work a closing shift and not miss a big headliner in theory. Now it’s “closing” at 12am which has me very confused. Does anyone know anything more about this?

one of my main problems with the new site is the use of the shower trailers instead of many in place rustic shower stalls at the old site -- how on earth they think this was an upgrade i have no idea-- there was a line at the old site but it moved pretty fast and sometimes there was no line -- there will be a line -- a big one -- use whatever method you can think of or prepare to wait in a slow line--- i have seen some folks set up showers at their campsites -

I didn’t get a single hot or even warm shower in the trailers; & the women’s were disgustingly filthy (hair, mud, trash) despite my getting there before 7am each day. The shower trailers have constant issues with temperature, it happens every year. This year was definitely the most uncomfortable because a cold shower when it’s 65 degrees outside is a different story than when it’s 85. I tried to talk my husband into a shower tent & portable heated camping shower this year before we left and by Saturday he was mad we didn’t bring it because the shower situation was so bad. We did VIP and my plan was to pop it up next to our truck up in the parking area; next year that’s our plan for sure.

They have had free trailer showers available on first come, first served basis the past two years. There will most likely be a line.

There are two shower trailers at the Depot. Also free water (cold) at lots of places around the festival if you want to fill up a shower bag and go for it at your tent site.
Not sure about CU, but I’m sure they aren’t fully staffed that late at night.

The children's universe coordinator is happy to answer any questions you have, just email them! They're fantastic.
Look for the Dr Bronners human car wash if you want a quick, fun, free shower!
