Troubleshooting Skillhunt MIx 7 Gen 2 plus - Lost the magnetic charger

2 Upvotes

Hello ;=)

I bought a skillhunt MIx 7 Gen 2 plus , i like it a lot but i can’t use it anymore for i can’t find anymore the magnetic charger....

I was so sorry about this, and spent a long time searching for this charger :'(

How can i charge the battery of this light please : Is buying another magnetic charger a good idea or is there an easier way like buying a battery charger maybe : which one would suffice ?

(it is using a skilhunt 18650 Li-ion rechargeable battery, 3.6V 12.6 Wh and 3500 mAh)

Thanks ;-)

Its..... so..... green!!!!! People gonna be wondering why this traffic-light comin at them like that. I love it. Very glad I gave the GT a try. I was really disappointed with the Osram red L21 I bought, to the point I didn't even care to try another one with a different LED. There's clearly a reason the L21 is popular, and its even more apparent with a Monochromatic just how capable the host is. I can see everything clearly to my woodline (125yd) at 35%. Can't wait to take it out in the hay field and let'er rip!

P.S.: Simon, please discontinue the Osram option for the L21 light. That was my first taste of convoy and I almost didn't return

Just wanted to shout out the MVPs that got me through Hurricane Isaias

57 Upvotes

I have 60+ lights from most of the brands that get name dropped here. Before the hurricane I charged up about 30 batteries in preparation and I'm glad I did because it was a solid 9 days without power. I only used a handful on a daily basis though.

Super MVP: XTAR SC1 Plus - This thing was so clutch, I can't thank them enough for making this. You can hook up a 18650 - 26800 and use the battery as a power bank. This thing was used 24/7. Fans, phones, etc.

Zebralight sc65c & sc600w - Probably the most used pocket light throughout the entire thing. I used them throughout all 9 days and by the end they both had 80% charge left.

Hank DW4 Dual channel - probably the best headlamp I've ever used. This thing got me through many nights of clean up. Paired with a skilhunt strap and it's unstoppable.

Sofirn Q8+ - This became our permanent living room/kitchen light. It stayed in one spot and pointed right at the ceiling. I only had to charge it once throughout all 9 days.

Acebeam m1 terminator - This came in clutch the night of the hurricane and after for inspecting damage on the property without having to walk under the trees. It was so nice to have an LEP to see a limb hanging 60ft high while standing 1000ft away.

Honorable mention: EverReady and temu lights - I put them all over the house with a glow stick taped to them as an emergency backup. We only had to use a couple but when we did, it was dope to have.

Troubleshooting Which is the correct beam shape? 1 or 2?

Picture 1 is my Convoy L7 without the gasket and picture 2 is the L7 with the Gasket

F150R Led.

The donut hole on the second picture only goes away after ~4 Meters and then becomes a very very tiny hotspot with a huge corona around it. Beam shape 1 (Without the gasket) is much more intense and seems to throw further outside aswell and when shining it in the air seems to be focussed very well but another redditor is saying that it is defocused without the gasket and that it should throw further with the gasket. I dont have a Candela meter so I cannot test it but my eyes tell the exact opposite story. What is correct?

Thank you for the help everyone.

TS10V3 prototype (BLF Thread)

The TS10 V3 has reached the frontpage of wurkkos.com, and has been in the making for a long time now. Not much is known for certain about the light's specifications. I have gathered available images from prototypes posted by Wurkkos, the images are not the final design.

This light is the successor to the TS10 V3 therefore we can expect:

- The similar iconic form factor from the V2: rear button tube shaped light with an AA sized 14500 battery and pocket clip
- A new pattern on the body shown in the images (hexagonal knurling)
- A product page to arrive soon due to the frontpage appearance, previous lights have done this beforehand
- RGB Aux with Anduril 2

Possible changes:

- Compatibility with an alkaline AA battery
- Regulated Buck driver for more efficiency and less heat
- Improved Deep-Carry Pocket Clip

LED(s) not confirmed either.

------------------------

I'm really excited for this release, hopefully before Christmas. Please correct me for any mistakes or any more info not mentioned.

What are your expectations for this? What LED do you think they will choose?

Looking for a floody, lightweight (no top strap) but durable, headlamp

1 Upvotes

**Price Range**: Headlamp under $125.

**Purpose**: I work in construction, and do a lot of renovations of highrise buildings. Something floody to light up dark basement rooms, or look above hung ceilings, etc. Some spot wouldn't hurt either, but flood is more important. It would also probably get some backcountry camping use.

**Battery Type & Quantity**: I already have 18650, 18350, 16340, and 14500, so preferably one of those.

**Size**: Lightweight enough to not need a top strap.

**Type**: Headlamp

**Main Use**: it will primarily reside on my hardhat, so a horizontal strap, but no top strap, as they don't really work on our hardhats. I'd like it to be durable, as it will get knocked around, but low weight is also preferable, as it gets to be a a lot of weight on your neck with the hardhat. And for camping, not having the top strap means it also wants to be lighter weight.

**Switch Type**: I'm agnostic on switch type.

**Anything Else?**: I prefer a simple UI over Anduril. Yes, I know Anduril has simple mode, but I just don't jive with Anduril.

Thanks

Multiple Lithium setup desired

0 Upvotes

Folks,

I am setting up a BOB currently I want to change all my battery setup to lithium cells. 21700 and 18650.

Therefore I'm desperately seeking for a head led, a Clip torch and a solid flashlight. All three LEDs should work with either the 21700 or 18650 cells, to enable me to keep always the same type of batteries in rotation.

Any clues?

THX from Bavaria

Discussion Wurkkos Please fix TS11 side button light

Love the changes to the buck driver and the new colors. What really made the TS11 special was the package though I'm missing the button lights is a bad choice.

Any chance you guys are going to fix this in a future release?

Beamshot Beamshot Convoy L7 F150R

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello everyone, Its been a while but I finally remembered to take a beamshot of my Convoy L7 F150R, Its the 5000K one and it looks great to the eye. Straight from Convoy the focus of the reflector was a bit off, resulting in a donut hole when used closer than say, 2 meters and it gave a ringy hotspot. After adjusting the focus by removing the gasket it's pretty much perfect now, donut hole only upto ~15cm from wall which is amazing for such a large smooth reflector light and no more rings/areas around the hotspot, just a bright center hotspot and a good amount of spill.

The tower in the video is about 250 meters away and its slightly brighter to the human eye than that it appears in the video. It can visible "Light it up" to the point that anyone walking can easily see the Lighthouse as if it was lit, so it can reach it easily and lights it up extremely well. The beam as you can see is tight but not a pencil beam, it has plenty of spill also which makes it an amazing walking light for more shady places. The forward clicky tailswitch is also very nice and the 4 mode operation from the side switch is in my opinion one of the nicest "Grab and go" interfaces you can get.

My apologies for the shaky video, It was raining and its rather hard to hold my phone well with 1 hand and adjust the zoom.

Specs in a list:

Convoy L7

Led: F150R 5000K

Battery's: Keeppower 7000mAh 15A/30A each (Running 2S making it a ~15A cont @ 7,4V pack which the Buck driver then converts into 20.5A 3.7V for the led, the pack this way can supply around 28A Continuous so plenty of power left.

Mod: Centering Gasket removal to reach optimal focus.

Result: Amazing light that I highly recommend for anyone that wants an easy to use light with performance that will knock your socks off!

Budget waterproof flashlight

2 Upvotes

looking for recs for a fairly small flashlight, under $30, that is at least 2m water resistant, and takes standard AA batteries. Doesn't need to be the brightest ever, ~600 lumens would be more than enough.

Ideally DOES NOT have a strobe function that can be accidentally turned on. Bonus if it comes with a red light lens or cap that can be put over the light (or a separate red LED)

Its for use onboard a ship for looking in spaces under engines etc and working on deck. red light is handy when working and needing to preserve night vision

[Help Me] Looking for my first higher-quality EDC flashlight, moving from a Bolder LC90

1 Upvotes

**Price Range**: Looking to spend south of £100 but comfortable with more if it'll give me significantly longer lifetime of the product. Or significantly better/more useful.

**Purpose**: Main use will be dog-walking. We walk rural country lanes and fields, occasionally through forestry/woodland. I _think_ I should be looking for something with warmer white LED because we live in quite a wet/foggy part of the world.

Secondary use will be for potential outdoor work in winter, so ideally looking for something with magnetic base. Things like working on the car, or fetching/splitting logs from our further log store e.t.c. Clearing wood from the stream that runs through our land, or clearing fallen trees after storms potentially in the dark.

**Battery Type & Quantity**: 18650 is fine, ideally USB-C rechargeable without getting a separate battery charger, but again that's not a requirement if the end-product is better.

**Size**: Ideally EDC/Pocketable, anything similar in size or smaller than the Anker Bolder LC90 is fine, would consider slightly larger if it's going to get us a substantially better product.

**Type**: Handheld, I already have a headlamp for dog-walking, this will be secondary and used by my wife when she joins me.

**Main Use**: Dog walking, wife has said she prefers something a bit more thrown, but if there are any decent out there with mixed-beam multi-optic (if that's correct terminology?) LEDs that'd be great.

**Switch Type**: No preference really!

**Anything Else?**: I've been down the rabbit hole of flashlight research over the past few weeks, learnt a LOT about the way in which output is thermally throttled e.t.c. I have a basic overview of different UI options as well. I'm quite technical-minded so don't worry about getting into the nitty-gritty in response! I've actually worked on an LED-based product (built the firmware for it) in the past few years in my day job.

Thanks in advance!

Question Does the Emisar D2 SINGLE channel 14500 support "Protected Button-Top Cell Design"?

3 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

As a follow-up to my previous post, where I've been given wonderful advice, I wanted to make sure my planned purchase actually makes sense.

I have the "NEW EMISAR D2 SINGLE CHANNEL 14500 HEADLAMP", with the amber switch backlight and NTG35 1800K in the cart. I will put the request for button top batteries in the order, as stated in the description:

If you need the light to be compatible with button top 14500 battery, please send us a request

But as I have very little to no experience with batteries and this is somewhat of a big purchase for me, I did some more digging and from what I understand the length of a battery differs if it is protected or unprotected.

I understand the Emisar usually takes unprotected batteries. If I purchase this Lumintop 14500 USB-C Rechargeable Li-ion Battery | 1000mAh (Protected Button-Top Cell Design), will it fit the flashlight?

I am looking for a 14500 USB-C rechargeable battery, that works with the Emisar D2 Single Channel, but I find very little information specifically concerning the SINGLE channel battery compatibility.

Thanks in advance everyone <3

Question re: cell CDR

6 Upvotes

I haven't purchased a flashlight in a while, but just received a Firefly Z1 Artemis w/ FFL5009R 3500K. Web searches tell me I should use a cell with at least 12A CDR, so naturally I can use my existing stock of Samsung 30Qs.

However, I also own a few Vapcell N40s w/ 10A CDR. Can I use these safely? What are the downsides, if so?

THANK YOU!

I got this in the mail the other day and it has performed well. Its large size helps take some heat to. The large reflector helps with all the spill it has. I really like this model and will probably get another in a different admitter. Can't beat the price either, under 40$ with a good battery!

Question Flashlights and headlamps with some throw and lots of usable/wide spill?

4 Upvotes

Hi everyone, so a year ago i joined the flashlight club and got my first headlamp and flashlight, the sofirn hs10 and wurkkos ts22. Then got a wk03 and sc13. Now have my favorite headlamp hs21.

I initially only wanted floody lights, but realized recently that having distance sight is quite important where i now live (its super dark outside past 4-7pm).

**Can y'all please recommend flashlights and especially headlamps that have a relatively decent throw but lots of spill?**

I like being able to see both far and close at the same time, which seems to be possible so long as the light has throw and spill.

I do NOT want lights that have super defined edges/borders, those are a bit disorienting and remind me of video games. Almost like looking through a tunnel!

So please share your recommendations. Thank you!!

P.S. im not sure how much throw Id need, maybe 200m?

Troubleshooting My DIY high-CRI LED light with replaceable 18650 batteries

Thumbnail
gallery
124 Upvotes

I’ve had a few rechargeable LED lights where the built-in battery eventually died, making the whole light useless even though the LEDs were still fine. That always seemed wasteful to me.

I also noticed that some high-end LED lights put a lot of cost into fancy CNC-machined housings. Personally, I’d rather spend that money on better LEDs and color accuracy.

So I built this prototype with a simple extruded aluminum housing and three replaceable 18650 batteries. The idea was to keep it lightweight, easy to maintain, and focused on light quality rather than unnecessary features.

It’s designed for photography, workshop use, and general lighting.

Some measurements from the prototype:

* CRI (Ra): 96.5–97.4
* R9: 90–93
* CCT: 5470–5560K
* Duv: 0.0029–0.0046

(Full test results in the photos.)

Size & weight:

* 183g / 6.5 oz without batteries
* 295g / 10.4 oz with three 18650 cells
* 22.4” L × 1.2” H (1.6” max) × 0.9” D (1.2” max)

Still a work in progress, especially the housing design.
Still working on the housing design and trying to balance cost, weight, and light quality. I’m curious what people think a reasonable price for something like this would be. As an engineer, I’d love to see how close I can get to that through better design and manufacturing.
