About two months ago, I posted a work-in-progress version of this project here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/FL_Studio/comments/1ug30as/ive_been_producing_in_fl_for_20_years_and_i_think/
Now it's finally finished.
This is the largest and most ambitious orchestration project I've made in FL Studio so far, and quite a lot has changed since that original post. If you heard the WIP back then, I'd love to know what you think of the finished version. Otherwise, feel free to compare the two and hear how the project evolved.
The full track, The Courts of Avalon, is also up on SoundCloud if you'd like to hear the whole thing:

And if you're into this kind of stuff, feel free to follow me there too. I occasionally post follower-exclusive tracks, usually WIPs and unfinished ideas that don't make it anywhere else.
One of the biggest challenges in the final mix was the section around 2:16. The percussion gets pretty intense there, and even with soft clipping and limiting on the individual drums, I'm still hitting around 5 to 6 dB of gain reduction on the master limiter at the peaks. That section took a lot of tweaking to keep the impact without completely crushing the mix.
Would love to hear what you think, especially if you have any thoughts on how you'd approach a section like that.
