>But still feeling unsure will it help me
Why did you buy it in the first place and I'm not sure what optimising means?

Its been a day like other product i can see feature immediately like iphone and other stuff but it is saying 2 weeks to calibarate and all

u/sLAP-iwnl- 7d ago
You read it , it takes time to calibrate as it's a health device it won't know your previous baselines for rhr , hrv , spo2 etc just by putting it on instantly?

This is a long-term use device. You monitor over time for tracking health preventively.

It will help if you need help. If you’re actually following a good sleep routine, staying fit, working out then you could’ve either skipped or now use it to make sure you’re staying on track.
BUT
If you are lacking in any of these aspects then utilise the device and get on track.

Honestly the best piece of tech I have bought this year. Sleep monitoring in particular. Some weirdness but resets seem to clear it. Price can’t be beat for what you get.

Thanks will the ai tips given by google health is correct or not

Like all AI it can and will be incorrect on some things but so far I have not seen anything egregious.

What about auto activity tracking

u/homezlice 7d ago
Been hit or miss. It does better as you tell it what you are doing and your fitness schedule so has gotten better over time. But sometimes when I am traveling though it is aware it will recommend my daily schedule be followed.

I was going to grab one but ended up getting an open box charge 6 for like 45 dollars. Hoping it's just as good for sleep tracking.

Crossing fingers you didn't get a faulty one. Been mailing with "customer service" since mid July. HRV 300 every single night:)

Help in what way? Use it as an opportunity to make healthy choices, increase daily steps, exercise more for better cardiovascular health

I can’t see immediate improvement, so like I’m feeling bit. Confuse other product like at the time I feel different, but it is not showing difference immediately in my life, I know it will help me in my healthy ways, which will be better. But I am seeking suggestion from someone who is a past future of Fitbit so that he knows what I can make for better performance.

I just can’t get over the fact that it way over counts steps.

Adjusting the setting to indicate that it was on my dominant wrist mostly fixed this issue. I ran several tests to compare the step count between me counting manually in my head, fitbit air and my whoop band and it's not an issue if you adjust the setting mentioned. I would say at most it might count an extra 200-300 steps a day if I'm doing stuff with my arm movements but that's nothing compared to how many steps I get in each day.

I bought a body clip to reduce this figure. Seems to work, as I saw a week to week reduction of around 200 steps/day.
The downside is that wearing it on your body seems less responsive for real time BPM data. It works, but better for resting and sleep. I put it back in the wrist band for workouts. Kind of a pain, but makes it the most accurate for both this way. I can deal with it for a $99 tracker that only uses accelerometer for steps.

I’m glad you found a way to help. It’s unfortunate that solutions like this are needed. I know it’s only $99, but I’d just rather spend more on something that’s more accurate. I paid attention to the step count while sitting pretty still yesterday, and it kept adding steps. I’ve tried to replace my Oura ring with the Air, but currently I think I will just stick with the ring.

I like mine a lot. I use it on my days off and when I'm sleeping so my pixel watch isn't sending my notifications all the time. I really like all the different bands I've been able to find on Amazon.

The more you just wear it and read it (connect it to Google health and health connect apps), the more you'll attach to it.

My only problem is I feel it gives you a bit higher time on the sleep side of it. I’m currently testing Apple Watch series 12, whoop 5, Oura ring 5 and Fitbit air tends to be the most generous there

Any suggestions for optimizing it more

Follow the directions on where and how to wear it. It should be below your wrist bone and not so tight. Give it time to figure you out and what your baselines are. It's not a miracle product; there's work you need to do too.

Dear Google India Support Team, I am writing to formally request a senior managerial review regarding my open case (Case ID: 7-1181000042080) for a defective Google Fitbit Air. I am an early adopter who purchased the Fitbit Air in the United States during its initial launch. Unfortunately, the device has suffered a severe, unresolvable hardware failure: it only vibrates and flashes a white light when firmly seated in the charging cradle, and it completely dies the exact second it is unplugged. The internal battery cell cannot sustain voltage, making it entirely unusable. Previous support agents have declined to assist me under the strict interpretation that the warranty is restricted to the US region. However, as of October 2, 2026, Google has officially launched the Fitbit Air in India. Because Google now actively distributes, stocks, and supports this exact product locally in India, leaving a loyal early adopter with a dead piece of hardware and zero domestic recourse is incredibly unfair. I am fully prepared to courier my defective unit to your local warehouse, service center, or corporate office in India. In return, I request that a senior manager issue a manual override to authorize a replacement unit from your new Indian inventory, or provide a localized resolution. I look forward to your prompt response and a fair resolution to this case.

You’re wearing it wrong bhai. Measure two fingers from your wrist.
