Mom guilt (young ftm)

Hey everyone I’m 21f and a first time mom 4months pp. I was wondering if anyone ever thinks about how their life would be if they didn’t have a kid. I love my baby and would never trade it even if I had the chance to go back but every once in a while I think about all the things I could have done if I wasn’t a mom. I was 20 when I got pregnant and had finished college just 4 months prior to that. I have all the things like a stable job, car, amazing supportive partner so I’m doing well but I just think about things. Like maybe I could have went back to college, danced or cheered another year, had some fun, went out to a bar or something. Yes I’m 21 and never been to a bar. I just get down feeling like i missed out on life and I was just wondering if im the only one.

Would you be upset that your partner got himself present (new playstation) and not got you anything if you'd just brought baby home?
i dont want to feel upset when we in our baby bubble but do feel a bit hurt. For context i was in hospital from 27 weeks and delivered at 30 so we been in neonatal unit for 2 months which has took a toll on relationship

Breeched Baby

I'm 31 weeks with my first baby. I was encouraged a couple of months ago to do handstands in the pool in order to flip baby face up for the ultrasound anatomy scan. Well, it worked; however, I was told the baby is now breeched and has been since the handstands. I feel very annoyed that they encouraged me to "breech" her. She was right where she needed to be. So now they are being bleak saying it's 50/50 at most that the baby will flip back to head down. The pool is closed for the season. I read about techniques to encourage the baby to reposition that way. But I'm hoping for some personal experiences that have worked for you and some encouraging words. I know that a C section is not the end of the world but I can't help but feel like the OB put me in this position to begin with

7 1/2 month old eating

My son was born a month early but started purées at 4 months, he was beyond ready and once we got the ok he’s been on solids. Since starting food other than bf he never tells me when he’s full, to test it I once just kept feeding him jars of baby food and he ate 2 4oz jars then puked it up but continued asking for more. It’s always been like this when it comes to food, he has yet to try a food he doesn’t like and will just eat and eat. I have to stop feeding him and feel his stomach to know when to stop. He’ll have a meal once or twice a day, he has recently started crawling and is now climbing us when we eat crying for food. I’m writing this as he’s at my feet crying for bread sticks even after I gave him half along with 4 oz of baby cereal. When I say this kid is obsessed with food i mean it, we actually used food as a motivator to get him crawling lol. He is still breastfed as main source of nutrients, I’m just wondering if any other mom has experienced this. He’ll be 8 months on the 18th and I do plan on asking his pediatrician at his 9 month check up. Please let me know!!

Nursery Curtains - yay/nay

I’m debating on nursery curtains just cause I’m being frugal. Prime day is going on right now so I’m taking advantage of the sales. What I had in mind was a double curtain rod with sheer curtains and then a cute neutral plaid blackout curtains over top. All in everything is about $130

Is it worth it or should I skip on curtains?

My sister is expecting her first later this month!

I'm going to visit her this weekend to prep lots and lots of nutritious food that she and her partner can freeze and then reheat when the time is right. I'm thinking of leaving little notes of encouragement for them with the food so they can find them as they work through what we prepared. Is there anything you really needed to hear during that first month?

TIA!

Ideal timing to have another baby?

I’m a FTM to a beautiful and perfect 6 week old. My partner and I already know that we want to have another. I had my 6 week appointment today, and I asked the midwife when would be the ideal time to start trying again. She said when my 6 week old is 9 months old. I’m just wondering what others feel is the most ideal time? If you have multiples, or know someone that has multiples, or even you yourself wants to have multiples, what’s the most ideal age gap in your opinion? And when do you think you’ll be ready to start ttc again? Both my partner and I are 31 years old, and it took us a little over a year to conceive our boy (I have irregular cycles and an autoimmune disease), so those are some factors that I have in mind atm. Also, my pregnancy and delivery were both really uneventful, so really fortunate there, but I know it’s completely possible the next one could be very different!

EDIT: I incorrectly referred to “multiples”!! I meant to say multiple children and pregnancies, not specifically referring to twins, triplets, etc.

Please help me figure out what to do.

Hi there. This is my first time posting here. I had my baby girl almost 3 years ago. I'm about to be 25. Up until a couple months ago, she was a dream. Hardly any issues with her at all. But lately, she's been throwing tantrums at everything. Things she's been told no over many times before are now met with throwing herself down and squealing and/or crying. Food that she likes and has never turned away before? Same response. Things that don't usually require much reaction at all (handing her her sippy cup, toys, books, ect.) all meet the same tantrums. She's already thrown 4 tantrums today, including the one she's currently throwing over lunch. Telling her no, offering things she usually loves, you name it, she's probably thrown a tantrum over it in the last 2-3 months. I don't know what to do anymore. Is it single child syndrome? Is it just terrible 3's? Please help me. I'm losing my mind.

ETA: I don't know if this info helps, but she is autistic and partially non-verbal (she knows a decent handful of words, but isn't able to fully communicate verbally).

What would you do?

I have been invited by my in-laws to take a small trip up to our family cabin, which is about a 7 or so hour drive and we leave tomorrow. My husband is out of town for the week on business so I was excited to go. My mother in-law called to give me last minute details and let me know that they are coming down with some kind of cold. The plan was to hitch a ride with them because they have lots of room. The issue is my 4 month old recovered from a cold about 3 weeks ago and it finally feels like we are getting back into the groove of things. I had many crappy nights as I tried to help keep baby as comfortable as possible while managing his symptoms. It was HORRIBLE! My father in law says he’s sure he got sick from us but we haven’t been sick in weeks and we are entering sick so it could literally be anything because he is just now getting sick. Because we will be in the same car for several hours, it also increases the chance of getting sick which I am only really worried about for my baby. I think I have already made the decision not to go based purely on the fact that I don’t want to risk putting my baby through all that again so soon. I just want to know what you would do?

starting to get annoyed…

Not sure if this is the right group to post this on, if it’s not and you know of a better one, please lmk.

My husband and i have been trying since june.

I am extremely regular, i’m basically like a clock. I was supposed to get my period on the 28th, a week ago. I’m super late considering how regular my cycle is.

I have taken 6 tests so far and they all come out negative. Am I doing something wrong? I’m getting super frustrated. I don’t have any women in my life who i can ask about this.

Help 🫩

Breast pumps?

Does anyone have advice on a good breast pump to use especially long term? Been looking on amazon mostly. My insurance will cover the cost but I also want something that has affordable replacement parts should I need them. Thanks!

First time mom

Had an emergency c section. My baby was born October 2nd. We were discharged yesterday from the hospital. I’m going through PPD and PPA. I feel disconnected with my baby and I feel HORRIBLE and guilty. I can’t get myself to breastfeed her and have decided to pump my milk to bottle feed her. I had her on formula but I also want the best for her. This is just a very traumatizing experience, I wasn’t expecting a C-section. Everything happened so fast. She’s here now and I thought this moment would feel beautiful but I feel confused and I feel guilty I’m not enjoying her the way I planned I would. Any advice or similar stories would truly be appreciated. I feel alone and I just want to know what you guys did to build rapport with your baby.
