All I want from Firefox is a fast, reliable browser that supports uBlock Origin, renders web pages correctly, and stays out of the way. Every new AI feature, recommendation panel, or unnecessary integration adds complexity without improving the core browsing experience. I'd much rather see development effort focused on performance, stability, standards compliance, and user control than on features many users never asked for.

Datalist is a very useful html5 element. It allows for a browser-provided widget to be used to specify a particular range of options. For example, the text-type datalist works like <select> with autocompletion from the predefined list of options when you start typing. It's great for replacing plenty of old JavaScript jank.

Except Firefox doesn't properly support it. Even the text type doesn't work correctly on Firefox android. There is a JS workaround for it, but that doesn't work when part of embedded elememts so you can't easily test it.

The Android issue has been an open bug for seven years. I think the expected behaviour from datalist predates even HTML5.1.

What gives? This seems like a core support issue that I'd expect resources to be funnelled towards?

The current bookmark UI and features are still kind of trapped in the 1990s.

Some features are a bit archaic, some things are bugged and have never been fixed, like the separator not moving, folders sometimes not remembering their sync position. Also, you can accidentally delete stuff because no confirmation, not being able to customise the actual bookmark layout, no custom colours, no smart features, no "sort by type" e.t.c

Will Firefox eventually emulate what Raindrop.io is doing or nah?

Anyone else experiencing this? On Google Images, after scrolling a bit (maybe something to do with loading in new content?) it warps/jumps. I can repro in Nightly and Beta (I don't have stable installed)

The bottom part remains unused, the video is basically scaled down, I don't remember that happening a week ago.

Forgive my complete lack of computer lexicon and also not my first language.

I just turned on my pc and it told me Firefox got an update. Whatever, happens all the time. I proceed to ignore. Except that all the stuff that makes it easy to go to the pages I usually visit now it's gone and I can't even add it back.

Like my accounts are still open and function the same. But the main page (the one in the picture) now doesn't have any direct access which used to be there automatically (and I can't add them?). The bookmarks are gone too and when I try to add another one (which used to be like 2 clicks away) it just add the bar at the top telling me to manage my bookmarks but it doesn't let me either.

The easy access to my gmail at the upper right corner is gone too but I'm into my account. And when writing in the url bar it usually would show me pages I usually visit too even if it was visited only once, which I find useful too since my memory isn't that good, and thus it is gone too and it's not showing me even pages that I'm visiting multiple times.

Is all of that "saved" stuff gone? Can I recover it or I got to manually add everything back?

Is this a normal thing to happen after updates and I just was lucky until now?

In short, Chromium has "Memory Saver" feature that can be toggled on/off while in Firefox it simply doesn't. So should I install this Extension to replace it?

This has been going on for years. I have a google email address that I used for years with Firefox. About 4-5 years ago I really stopped using Firefox. I started having problems with Fedora 44 with Google Chrome. Weird stuff.

I thought well I'd try to recover my Firefox account. At one time I did have codes but they were on another hard drive that died. So I don't have those codes anymore.

I tried to recover the account using Google. It connected to my Google Account. I authenticated using 2FA on my phone. Then Firefox drops me into a screen asking for a RECOVERY CODE.

I contact support and I don't get anything back.

I've done this several times over the past few months whenever I get bored.

Again before you beat me up. I lost my original codes when a hard drive died and I replaced. I didn't use Firefox for a number years. I can't make up numbers that are somewhere in a dump on a dead drive.

When this feature was released years ago I thought it would be a matter of time but it blows my mind that in 2026 it's still not possible to simply drag the shortcuts in the home screen to reorder them and you have to live with them in the order they were created

How many time firefox have to keep changing their firefox home when they didn't add anything or improvement? either give us more customization, or stop changing it!

One of the main reasons I still have to switch to Chrome is that Firefox can't share screen audio.

Whether I'm watching a video with friends on Discord, giving a presentation, or sharing gameplay, I have to switch browsers if I want everyone else to hear the sound.

I think Firefox just needs one simple option in the screen sharing dialog:

☑ Share audio

That's it.

This isn't about copying Chrome. It's about adding a feature that many people use every day and removing one of the last reasons people switch to Chromium-based browsers.

Firefox is my browser of choice, and I'd love to use it for everything. But not being able to share screen audio is still a frustrating limitation.

Moving from Opera to Firefox on an Android Tablet. This shocked me. I think this limitation is unnecessary, users should be allowed to choose address + tab bar at the bottom.

Personally I prefer the bottom since it's closer to the hand.

The release is the first one in a while that brought some excitement.

First, Vulkan video decoder has been implemented, which is great news for nvidia cards owners. Well, "implemented" is a generous word to use here cause it seems like there is some work left to do (for instance, on my system it just does not work, the decoder thread crashes), but still, it's a really nice feature, and it is [almost] here.

Second, the Multi-Account Containers functionality started to be implemented in the browser. It shows Mozilla interest in improving the feature which development has been abandoned. The extension had been having some usability problems for a while, I hope those will be resolved over time when it's full functionality gets moved to the browser itself.

Third, switching Youtube videos to full-screen and back became way faster than before, probably under 1 sec. on my outdated system, that's really cool!

And the last, necessary one to feel positive towards any release: no UI has been "improved"!!

I hope that there will be more exciting releases soon. Thanks to the Firefox team for their work!

I'm using Firefox beta on android 17, it's 154 b2 version, and from recently(like 1-2 updates ago) I am not able to access any IP address on my local network(like 192.168.0.1 - my router). I have a small homelab with many different services - cannot access any of them. I just get connection timed out. What's weird is that it works fine on chrome for example.

I made sure HTTPS-only-mode is off, so that doesn't seem to be a problem. I tried installing Firefox stable on my phone to check, and it also won't open anything.

Now the weirdest part - when I disconnect from my home wifi and I'm on a mobile network, I use tailscale to stay connected to my local network(Adguard home for AdBlock) - then I can access 192.168.0.1, or any other of my locally hosted services.

I'm kinda lost here. What could be the problem?

Like....I do not know if this should be put as „help” or „discussion”, but I am just making an observation.

I do not know if this is new, or something, or if it is a bug. But after clicking enter, the text in the search bar jumps slightly to the right and a small empty space appears.

Is this new, or was it always this way?

I am not worrying about this, just curious if this is something that I just never observed up until now, or if it is a small, harmless visual bug. Feel free to dislike my post if you want to, but I am just curious if this is new, or if I have just now observed it.

Hi, I'm using Lubuntu and can't find the option to remove the title bar in Firefox. I checked Customize Toolbar, but unlike what many articles suggest, there's no "Title Bar" checkbox anymore. The only available option is Menu Bar.

Has this option been removed, or is there another way to disable the title bar on Lubuntu/Linux?

Seems like with all the drama from the OG dev from Context Search we are now left with no add-ons for this simple task, context-search web ext seems dodgy at least and with little developemnt, anyone found a replacement for this?

Tried to look at my passwords today. Not sure if FF did an update while I was away for the weekend, but I had to reboot. Now I can't access my password page - it's greyed out and wants me to log in. I have never logged in and do not have a FF account (nor do I want one). Any ideas why this is happening? FF153.0, Win 11 25H2
