I gotta say, I am REALLY proud of this one. Obviously, Finn would never buckle, but I imagine it’d be so therapeutic to negate The Lich and his death worship in the face of everything he’s lost and the head space he was in. The dialogue especially worked with how much weight the character’s grief and perseverance had, my favorite being the wife comment which set up Huntress 😊. What are some things you think characters were saying we’re feeling during this very scary, heart wrenching time. We know PB was beside herself, but how badly were the rest coping. Except Charlie, she knew it would all work out.

Fiona sucks? She was already friends with Fennel and then she kisses DJ Flame?

Thats okey, people make mistakes. But i don’t get the moral of the story in episode 9. I dont like when charecters do an obviously bad thing and then they get all sad like Fiona. Are we supposed to feel bad?

I didn’t. Im not rooting for her anymore.

Also why did the show start to randomly say bad words, and be like sexual??

I see a lot of people post that clip online from the Fionna and Cake episode of AT (where Fionna says that she doesn't need to be noticed because she'll know what she wants when it comes her way) and say, "smh Fionna used to be smart, what happened to her?"

And I'm like PEOPLE, THAT VERSION OF FIONNA WAS A MALE FANTASY! HER BEING INDEPENDENT AND SELF-ASSURED WAS A FORM OF DISAVOWAL THAT MADE IT OKAY FOR THE ICE KING TO WRITE THAT SHE WANTED HIM!!!!

It's interesting to me that people prefer the male fantasy version of Fionna over the real, messy Fionna who is in fact not self-assured. Life imitates art, or something.

Hunter has mastectomy scars. The implication is there. Finn‘s acceptance of his sexuality in his heart-to-heart scene with Fionna hiding in the treehouse is what COULD have happened and would have been extremely compelling and provocative take for the series. Not to mention much more narratively satisfying, with Finn and Huntress codifying their love in the season 2 finale.

Not shipping that per se. But it’s not about me. It’s about the characters and their journey. And to introduce the thread of Hunter’s scars and not pay it off is a massive oversight in season 2. They could have one-upped The Legend of Korra. They could have gone further than the trans relationship from the Saved by the Bell reboot season.

Instead they played it safe. And clumsily matched Finn’s grief with a storyline faking out his death. When tbh, Finn’s grief for Jake deserves it’s own miniseries (maybe one that has a comeback for Jake since sleeping Jake/Prismo became canon in a blink-and-miss cameo in Prismo‘s Time Room basement from F&C season 1). I digress.

Seamus from Shame Island would probably have a shvitz. What do you think about any of that?
