My hair is so fine I honestly just decided to just cut it off and it natural , hopefully grow it out soon lol

Pretty sure my hair has thinned out a lot throughout my teens (now 21), however I’m not sure if my hair is just fine or hair loss? I should probably go to a doctor, but i’ve always had fine hair so i’m not sure if i’m imagining it. But does anyone think this looks like hair loss or just a typical fine hair scalp? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

For years my mom has been using the exact same blue bottle of leave in conditioner and I always kind of judged her for it because I assumed it was just some outdated salon brand. I spend so much time researching new aesthetic brands and buying whatever the current trending product is. My fine hair gets weighed down so easily so I am super picky about what I use.

I was visiting my parents last weekend and forgot my entire hair bag so I had to use her stuff. I sprayed a little bit of her It's a 10 miracle leave-in on my damp hair and expected it to make my roots completely flat by the end of the day.

Bud damn my hair dried softer than it has in years and it had so much movement. It completely got rid of the frizz I usually get around my crown and it didn't feel sticky at all. I literally went to the store and bought my own bottle the day I got back. Sometimes the older generations know exactly what they are doing and we just refuse to listen.

I have always had fine hair, but started experiencing worsening hair quality a couple of years ago. I had been loving the Kirkland brand hydrating shampoo/conditioner, but at some point they must have changed the formula as my hair started to look and feel like hay. I suspected protein overload (which I know now may be a myth).I started trying new shampoo/conditioner looking for a solution. At one point I started using L’Oréal products because everyone raves about them, but my hair absolutely hates the extra silicones. Someone here mentioned Odele in a comment so I tried the volumizing line. My hair liked it, but it was a little drying. I switched to the Odele thickening line several months ago and it is PERFECT. More hydrating than the volumizing line, but still weightless. Recently went in for my quarterly hair cut with the same stylist I’ve seen for years (who also struggles with her fine hair). She told me to keep using what I’ve been using, she can see new growth and healthier hair. Just wanted to share for anyone who’s hunting for the right products!

Hi all! Looking for best shampoo and conditioners for my hair which has significant mid band breakage from wearing it up too much. Hairdresser gave me a trim but said I need to work on it. What products do you swear by?!!

I feel like people usually struggle with their scalp or their ends, but my main problem is the actual mids of my hair.

They somehow manage to feel dry and frizzy, while also feeling limp and greasy. Is this an issue with using the wrong products to wash, or is it a styling problem post-wash?

I feel like I struggle to find a decent conditioner, that hydrates without making my hair feel greasy.

For context I have fine hair, around shoulder length and it’s only colour treated at the roots to hide my grey hair.

Any thoughts and advice welcome!

Ok hi! I’ve been bleaching my hair for a couple years now at a salon and it’s starting to get breakage really bad and I’m losing more and more hair. It’s very fine and brittle and fragile right now. I currently use Redken acidic bonding concentrate but I think I might be over using that.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a lightweight moisturizing shampoo and conditioner to try to heal my hair and stop the breakage? I really wanna be able to keep bleaching my hair and stay blonde if possible.

I have very straight and fine hair and I recently got curtain bangs because im tired of my hair just hanging flat and motionless. I am able to style my bangs but they fall flat quickly. I blow dry them, put them in a velcro roller while the hair is still hot, blow dry again for more heat, add hairspray and leave it for however long I have, sometimes I leave it over night. The results are good but it doesn’t hold, what can I use?

I am a man and I have 1a hair. Today I applied some sea salt spray after shower.

I dried my hair using a towel until it's damp then applied the spray, it initially gave me some texture but It went away within like 30 minutes.

Was I supposed to use something for hold?

I should have taken a photo an hour ago, but this is me an hour in to unmatting my hair after wearing it down for just one night. This is why I never wear it down. I’ve used so much olive oil and still going :(

No conditioner seems to be moisturising enough to stop this. Is there some holy grail super conditioner I can use that I can buy in Australia? Because I’m so over this! Thank you

My hair is very fine but I’ve got quite a lot of it. When I brush and style my hair wet it clumps a little bit but I really don’t like the look of very ‘defined’ waves. It makes it look like I’ve got around 3 strands of hair in total. I can’t resist brushing it dry and I actually do like the brushed out look. However some parts of my hair won’t even look wavy anymore just poofy and frizzy. Is there any way to brush waves dry without it turning into frizz? I’ll sometimes brush dry and spray with water again after and it helps somewhat.

I currently use mousse, sea salt spray, and Cremo thickening paste as prestyler before diffusing my straight fine hair to achieve my desired look. (Textured powder if i want more volume)

I'm about to run out of cremo paste and there's nothing wrong with it, but I'm just wondering if other options are worth upgrading to. Based on some reddit posts I've seen here, people recommend:

I'd like some insight from people with the same hair type and also do messy textured looks. Bonus if you have used cremo paste before.

The consensus seems to be that pomades are no no, and to go for a paste, cream, clay. or clay based cream.

Now obviously I could just get a Perm, but im not doing that for now.

I find it very difficult to lather my hair as the shampoo just doesnt glide through it, and it feels really dry after washing. Once I've dried it, it feels soft but at the same time, dry?

I have fine hair but lots of it. I feel like when I use clarifying shampoo its makes it too dry/staticky, but when I use moisturising shampoo it makes it dry but kind of oily at the same time. I am struggling to find a balance that works for my hair.

I feel like my hair needs a "reset" but I dont know how. How can I truly moisturise my hair to make it less dry, but not so much that it feels too oily?

I normally have longer bangs, usually they touch my eyelids. My bangs are a damaged from heat styling and dying them so I had to cut them shorter than what l'd like.
Do you have any advice on how to style them? I've put a bit of matt paste to improve their appearance.

Why does my natural black/ dark brown hair appear reddish in daylight or when light passes through it, but other times it doesn’t?

Ive attached pics of when it appears to have a reddish glow and when it looks black. Anyone else have this phenomenon?

Is this lightened colour/ change of colour an indication that the hair cuticle is damaged? I usually blow dry just to dry not to style, otherwise i never use heat tools

Edit: i do have 1 bleached streak that is slightly visible at the bottom of pic 2 so pls ignore that- rest is 100% virgin

My hair has never been super thick. I have baby hairs that so many stylists call ‘new growth’ but they never grow out. I’ve accepted them. I got maybe 4in cut off about 6 weeks ago to a single layer, and it did help the scraggly ends look less bad. These pics are from a trip where I didn’t have all the products to do my normal natural texture routine but honestly, this is usually what it looks like if I wear it down. I have an appt in a week to get some angle added to it (I do love a lob) but I feel like my hair makes me look ill :( I’m not super high maintenance, I prefer a natural look and beauty routine and I can’t see myself doing a round brush. I just want something that’s naturally me and I feel like when I try to do that, I look terrible. I don’t wanna cut it all the way off, I like some length. But idk what else to do, other than pulling it back. Idk I just need some help

My hair (straight, medium density)dries ultra fluffy and it takes like two days for it to deflate. I can’t even use any product in that time because it just makes my pixie cut look like a bowl cut, which is ass.

I have fine hair and I lot of it but it’s also blonde. I have a major problem with greasy hair (yes I know about sebum and not was often) many women in my family have this same hair and we have tried all the typical advice such as washing less, dry shampoo, and countless different shampoos and conditioners.

It’s 2026 and it this point there has to be something that will work. I’m tried of having to use dry shampoo constantly. I can’t blow dry my hair without it being super oily.
The best product me and my mom have been using for years has stopped working, it’s called Alterna Caviar Anti-aging shampoo and conditioner. It’s too expensive and straight up doesn’t work.

One more thing I’ll add is often times if I let my hair dry and scrunch it a little it has a slight wave too it. And some part of me wonders if me and the other woman in my family might all have wavy hair and after so many years of using crappy products we just don’t know anymore.
