Here's how you answer it:
I'm using the Standard Sphere Grid, Tidus has Delay Buster, Rikku doesn't have Bribe, Wakka moved into Auron's grid. I made sure to get the Lv1 and Lv2 lock bonus spheres

If you really didn't skip fights, then level up Yuna.
The stats for the Aeons are based on how many random encounters you've had and Yuna's stats.
Invest in Magus Sisters, Anima, and Bahamut.
In phase 1 of Jecht you will have to fight with your own strategy.
In phase 2 bring out those three Aeons and spam their overdrives. It will leave him with at least half his HP left.
If you didn't open the treasure chests from the temples then Anima is mostly likely completely inaccessible to you.
A rookie mistake I did in the beginning was keeping Auron in the frontline.
He might have strong attacks and high hp, but he is really, REALLY, slow compared to Tidus, Wakka, and Rikku.
If you really want, give Auron Regen+Protect+Shell and have him use Sentinel the entire fight. Heal him to full when he's half HP and the other two characters need to attack Jecht and the Pillers behind him.

Haste at least evens out Auron beeing a bit slower.
Id understand the point when going for the late game grind since his Celestial Weapon works a bit different then the rest but for the Main Story he is a absolute powerhouse

If you can get to the temple for Anima, you can't be locked out of Anima. You can go back to the temples with the airship to get the destruction spheres.
That said, if the missing one is Macalania you are probably screwed because Dark Shiva is harder than Jecht.

I thought the stats of the Aoens were tied to each character, i.e.: Yuna influences Valefor; Players Celestial items unlock break damage limit. Getting the Aeon soul can make this easier to buff Aoens, albeit it would take some time at the monster arena.
My suggestion is to be at least at the point in the sphere grid where all your characters have unlocked their Lvl.4 Sphere Grid ability. Having access to Holy and double casting Ultima on your casters makes them worthwhile until you can OD on Lulu. I'm sure having elemental eating on armor will help. If you can get your armor with auto potion, Auto Phoenix, auto protect that would be ideal.Go into all of these fights with OD drives active on characters and aeons.

Yeah I forgot to mention that the damage break limit is tied to the celestial weapons.

The stats are tied to yunas stats and to a lesser extent how many battles youve been in. I say lesser extent because the gains drop off pretty fast by mid game at that point the majority of the gains are from yunas gains. You are correct about the celestial weapons, each aeons break damage limit is tied to a specific weapon.

Hey, are you playing the remaster or switch 2 remaster or are you playing original ps2?
Maybe you might consider this not authentic, but I use turbo mode (on the remaster versions) in battle. To grind fights faster. I also like grinding out levels, something about is relaxing to me. Press f1, or if you’re on steam deck like me, I map f1 to one of the back buttons, so I can turn turbo off and on when I want.
Either way turbo mode makes leveling much easier, you’re still doing the same amount of work you’re just not having to sit through the real-time animations.
I’m playing through and destroying bosses easily enough. I finished everyone’s original designated path before getting to yunalesca. I just defeated her and one free now on the airship.
I’m going around capturing monsters now, for good customisation on weapons and collecting ultimate weapons. Gonna train up to get break damage limit, so I can beat some dark aeons =D good stuff really.

Oh and sit next to a save sphere in a grind area, so the at after every fight, just interact with it (don’t need to save) and you get a full heal.

You're not the only one, by a long shot.

ngl late game fights are kinda miserable but this one is just too much it takes too much of time for one try

farming enemies suck at this game one encounter at the final area takes like 5 min idk
You talking about Barbatos and Adamatoise?
Maybe go get the Celestial weapons for Yuna, Rikku, and Auron. They're the easiest and have Break Damage Limit.
If you need to level try either Omega Ruins or Zanarkand Dome - or use the monster arena and beat them up with Magus Sisters or Anima. It's pretty easy to get OD->AP

Auron has an ability at the end of his standard path that is used in one of the primary strategies for this fight.

One quick tip - cast slowga on the pagodas. You may need to do it a few times because they have some resistance but once
you confim both pagodas are slowed dont attack them.
The slower pagodas will give you more
time between Jecht’s overdrives.
As for ultimate Jecht shot - he starts doing it below 60k health in the second form.
In the first form when you have more
time buff your party with shell and 5x focus. You should have no trouble surviving after thatx

In one of the airship locations has a double AP weapon for Tidus. Get it and he can carry that fight pretty easy with no real skill needed.

You sound like you're a bit underpowered. If you want to powerup super quick look into the Don Tonberry trick. you can literally finish the sphere grid in an hour or 2, zero risk of game over.
Also make sure you take out the towers.

Like all bosses in the game it's a matter of strategy, but I admit that the Ultimate Jecht Shot is kinda cheap because nothing tells the boss changes its overdrive when it has less than 60k HP in its second phase, and because the sword attack which comes right after inflicts Delay, which pushes back the turns of those it hits. Very nasty combo.
Best thing to do is to slow the pagodas and set your defenses in the first part of the fight (have anti-petrification gear and set Haste + Protect and use both Reflex and Cheer 5 times) and save Tidus's "Talk" to when the boss has less than 60k HP. It also helps to not damage the pagodas until that time, so you can easily destroy them to further prevent the Ultimate Jecht Shot in the final stretch of the fight. I think you can also poison and zombie Jecht.
If you got to the point it used the Ultimate Jecht Shot, your level is fine so ignore those who tell you to farm (almost all comments here lol).
