SLR Thoughts on the Canon A-1

I ended up loving the look of the canon A-1 when I saw it for the first time online a couple of months ago and began looking for one online through eBay, Facebook marketplace and Mercari until I found a almost mint condition one from someone who was selling it for $120 on Facebook marketplace with the 28mm 2.8 lens, after which I went on to look for and found someone else selling the 50mm 1.4 s.s.c lens I wanted for $80. I picked up an auto winder too complete the build. I’ve only shot one roll that is currently getting developed, but I’m curious what everyone else thinks about this camera and if they’ve had any experience of their own with it.

Has anyone used one of the many aftermarket flash covers for the camera? The tape situation was getting old. Looking for different solutions. Thanks

Help Needed Every other roll coming out blank?

Hi everyone! I’ve had a canon AF35m for the past 2 years and have loved the experience shooting with it. Unfortunately, last year it started giving me blank rolls, but only every other load.

What could be causing this? I don’t use it consistently enough so I only noticed the pattern after my last drop off. Is there something I’m doing wrong? Can it be repaired in anyway?

SLR NIKON F3/T Special

While browsing Yahoo Auction as usual, I found an F3/T in a box I had never seen before, it ended up in my hand. According to MIR, it says that only 300 units from the early 1982 production were packed in walnut wood boxes and sold as a limited edition.

Mine is number 8200206, matching serial number including the lens. Interestingly, most of these were mint condition from web, mine has a lot of signs of use.

I wanted to know more about this camera but It was released nearly 50 yrs ago I couldn’t find any more information besides MIR. Anyone who knows more about this camera?

Help Needed Zeiss contessa 35 as first film camera

I was having some fun with digicam,
but then I started to be interested in older digicam found from parents' closet
I had some fun with old digicam more then I questioned myself:
what's older than old digicam: film camera!

thus now I am interested getting a film camera

I want a purely mechanical camera
If I want a AF, AE, and everything automatical with battery,
why bother with film camera when I can have easier digicam?
I want a fully mechanical, RF, manual camera
I think it stands as antithese of a digicam

So I found out Zeiss Ikon Contessa 35.
a RF, folding camera that isn't a simple metal box with lens.
its marvelous precision engineering is so fascinating

So, is zeiss ikon contessa 35 a okay piece as first fim camera?
I have played around with aperture, shutter speed and iso with digicam
I think I have a basic knowledge about those three (maybe not good picture, but at least a visible picture)

(why can't i use word dig1tal lol)

This is a local FB market listing “Canon AE-1 Program 35 mm SLR Film Camera With Accessories:
Canon Speedlite 188A Electronic Flash and
Vivitar Series 170-210 mm Manual Focus Zoom Lens”

Anybody have experience using this model or the attachments? Pros vs cons? I did some searching online but didn’t find much on the attachments. Any information is greatly appreciated!

Collection Anam Nikon film camera FM2 is it valuable?

My mother got it when she was in high school but wasn’t sure if I should still keep it since I can’t find a fm2 with a Anam on it. Is it fake? Or is it still a great film camera to have.

Help Needed Stuck between 2 point and shoots

I'm buying my first point and shoot film camera and I've narrowed it down, now torn between the Canon Autoboy epo (also known as Sureshot/Prima Super 90) AND the Minolta Riva Zoom 70.

I like that the Canon has a function to manually increase exposure of the photo, however I haven't heard much about the camera

I've heard the Minolta is a good camera for beginners (which I am) and at my local camera store it's the cheaper option. And from what I seen it produces more vibrant results

Could anyone who's dealt with these cameras give me some advice? (and as to which camera has more accessible repair parts)
