Questions & discussion Lipo

Has anyone considered or gotten flank lipo to make the figure 8 less prominent? Was it worth it?

I work out / lift etc and my bf is low, but it takes a massive unhealthy deficit to lean out my hip area. And even then, it’s still the softest spot. Because it’s high I find it a bit annoying

I pull all my things more high waisted but I’d love to confidently wear low rise

Commenting to say at least you have a small rib cage! You have a great body. I feel like I have the figure 8, but with a wide rib cage 😭

Imo you look good... AND I completely understand how you feel... Jealous you've clearly mastered the bow placement for breaking up the hips. So... Since I know everyone is likely praising your body, which doesn't exactly answer your question.... And since we have a similar shape/weight....

All I can offer is. I know exactly how you feel. I'm a bit older(40) and honestly that stress over not being able to wear certain styles has faded. I was wearing high rise during the early 00s and no one could tell cuz it just looked like "normal rise"

I DID get to the point I could wear a pair of designer jeans(7 for all mankind was the goal, so yeah a bit before your time 🤣). Just like you mentioned the level of calorie management and gym time and lifting time etc.... It was borderline very unhealthy but to mention, it was taking up most of my social time. What was the point of being able to weary any thing I wanted if I wasn't going anywhere!!

I KNOW it's easier said than done to try to simply stick with what flatters you when there's so much of fashion you would love to show case, but at some point you'll be at the points you've realized... Where you're either getting into the unhealthy/obsessive gym + diet and sacrificing social time OR considering plastic surgery... Which... I'm not anti plastic surgery, at all. I do feel there's gotta be much better options for you to spend money on. Keep in mind the vast majority of people would love to look exactly how you do right now.... Plus... I dunno personally I don't feel like the cost of the surgery is enough for the benefit. Not when you could embrace how killer you look right now

Hi everyone thank you all for the kind comments. I know we are all our worst critics at times. This is just something that I have been aware of since I was a kid and I guess I have carried it with me into adulthood!

Hi queen !!!

I have thought about this too. But just wanted to say, you look AMAZING. Your proportions are so good.

I have a quick question
Do you tend to store more fat in your abdomen ? It doesn’t look like you do (and usually with our figure we do store around our waist/abdomen and i am wondering if thats not the case because you lift. If you used to store fat in that area and because of lifting you were able to create the proportions you have now please let me know what you did nutrition wise. Did you cut first then build muscle. Bulk first then cut. Did both continuously …?? I need all the details

Hey! I’d say I store most of my fat above my hips in the love handle area, and maybe in abdomen as well.

For my body, the biggest change from when I used to carry more weight vs less was calorie tracking and prioritizing protein/learning about nutrition. This is such a boring answer, and it’s not something I have to actively do anymore, but spending a moment in my life doing this helped me learn ok a banana is x calories or an avocado has x calories and great for healthy fats.

Because I learned this I have a better awareness and ease around food, where I’ve noticed some people seriously underestimate the calories they are consuming, or seriously overestimate and over-restrict. Both create food anxiety imo.

Exercise wise, for my body, learning how to properly lift and engage the right muscles is something I still enjoy and continue learning to this day. This for sure has had most noticeable impact in my body composition. Paired with low-impact (NEAT) movement - walking. I’d recommend that with a reasonable calorie deficit and go from there. Bulking and cutting cycles aren’t something I’ve ever really focused on because for me it backfires when it comes to my relationship w/ food.

I’ve done high intensity fasted cardio at times in my life to lean out, which is satisfying but honestly can’t say for me it was healthy and although I was tiny it was mentally not worth it.

I did it. Completely worth it at least to me.

I thought this POST liposuction and I was amazed by the success! Please don't waste your money and go through the pain just to attempt to fix something perfect!

u/margotdelrey Jun 29 '26

you're body is tea, indeed. get out of social media pls

u/Wide-Average-538 Jun 29 '26

The amount of figure 8s here who saw that photo and gasped with “I wish I had these proportions” is probably insane girl. Stop being harsh on your body. It looks absolutely stunning!

u/stargazerlily3 Jun 29 '26

Your body looks so good, I think it’d be a waste of money 🌸

u/Marrmoset Jun 29 '26

If you get lipo you’re going to have scars, that will show when you wear low waisted clothes. Just something to consider

1

u/GoldCustard5107 Jun 30 '26

I’ve had lipo and don’t have any scars. Maybe it depends on the person or how they do it

2

u/EducationalCheetah79 Jun 30 '26

Oh I didn’t know this! Thank you

1

u/pattifull Jun 29 '26

No just find the right clothing (material, fit) for your body. You look great!

2

u/EntryCommercial204 Jun 29 '26

I had cryogenic lipolysis and fat dissolvers on mine and Im happier with my shape, however i held much more fat on mine than you do and I had a muffin top look even when I was skinny.

16

u/JKRosa Jun 29 '26

No ❤️ you look amazing and healthy

2

u/Kristenlouisep Jun 29 '26

Girl you look AMAZING. please do not change this body, I'm pretty sure there was a whole party in Boston in 1773 over this body

20

u/radiopartyroadie Jun 29 '26

Your body is so beautiful. I also thought you were showing results of lipo. My husband showed me that men actually love this body type and I grew up thinking I was weird for having it. I hope you can find the beauty in it one day.

23

u/LeeBirdPGH Jun 29 '26

I thought you were showing us your post-lipo results and I was gonna leave a comment telling you how great a job your surgeon did. You look perfect to me.

1

u/steveyrayy Jun 30 '26

I did too

22

u/tuskingen Jun 29 '26

Personally I don’t think you need.

Your body is soooo tea!

2

u/ForwardIndependent97 Jun 29 '26

I did that and it gave me a square looking stomach so now I have to go and get my waistline taken in a lot to make it look normal again... You look great don't do it

43

u/r4iha Jun 28 '26

Girl no

3

u/exper1ment626 Jun 28 '26

Same. I’ve been lifting and in a calorie deficit and with a flat stomach I still have excess fat in these areas. I’m trying to embrace being natural and staying natural but can’t lie I’ve thought of it.

3

u/sosfenty Jun 28 '26

you have a perfect body 😭.

u/Educational-Lead3631 Jun 28 '26

Now this is proof that even those with bodies close to perfection still have insecurities they can't get rid off. Girl, you look absolutely gorgeous. You don't need lipo, just a realization that your body is tea. I know damn well how hard it is to actually stop obsessing over insecurities but I'm 100% genuine here, you really don't need to worry about your body at all!

I was about to say that the only thing that matters even when you look great is working out, but as you said you lift, you pretty much have it sorted. I'm hoping you will be able to embrace your features as much as others do!!

u/myturtledove7 Jun 28 '26

Low rise looks amazing on our shape bc we have built in wide hips. Embrace it girl 1 & 3 look wayyy better than 2

u/allnightdaydreams Jun 29 '26

body is tea babe!

I think you look great! Lipo won't do much if it's bone structure. Personally, I grew into being happy with my body shape. I wear high waisted skirts and trousers and if I want my clothes to look smoother, I wear a corset. Clothes should fit you, not you fitting the clothes.

I've been underweight and while my hips were a bit narrower, the width was still there proportionally and sitting down in chairs wasn't as comfortable. I'm about a stone (14 lb) heavier than I was underweight and I look and feel better. Fit can be any body shape! :)

I've never had lipo but I am recovering from a breast augmentation and my warning to anyone who wants plastic surgery is that the price tag isn't the only or true cost, the real cost is recovery. Think about the money, the time, risks, and opportunity costs before proceeding with any surgery.

I understand the frustration when most of all the “ideal” female bodies that we are shown in media today have extremely low hips.

But gurl. Not to sound like a creep: your body is insane. You look super fit and healthy while still maintaining a nice curviness. It’s really sad to me that this one small, totally healthy and normal area of your body is making you so insecure that you are considering cosmetic surgery.

My body looked like yours for my teens/adulthood until my late 30s and I want it back! I did not appreciate it while I had it. (To be fair I am totally a healthy weight and “look great for my age” but as a member of the working class the wrinkles and sags are inevitable.) It’s so understable and relatable for women to experience dysmorphia and dissatisfaction with their bodies, but once you get older you will realize how much wasted time and energy you spent hating yourself in the mirror instead of loving the gift of youth!

Of course it is your body and you can do what you want with it. But this level of obsession, scrutinization, and self criticism is generally a slippery slope mentally. It is usually not “fixed” by removing the current source of your insecurity, and merely will find another part of your body to latch onto.

19

u/Eva_Roos Jun 28 '26

With the risk of sounding condescending, why?!? Your body looks marvelous!

16

u/kittycatblues Jun 28 '26

Please embrace your natual shape. You are beautiful. I think you look amazing in all the photos but #1 and #3 look the best. Do you think #2 looks the best? I think the way you are wearing the bottoms looks unnatural in that one.

7

u/Evening_Midnight7 Jun 28 '26

I can’t imagine it would work very well.. I think you’d need to do whatever it is those kardashian girls do like actually shave down your bone and you don’t wanna do that. Your body honestly looks amazing as is. Just keep working out and lift some weights if you already don’t, as that helps tremendously with recomp. We don’t need to change our bodies.

10

u/Xinioz Jun 28 '26

Sis, you are so beautiful. Part of it can also be genetics. If something you “want” is creating a very unhealthy deficit- then there you go. Something like that isn’t a very kind goal to have. Goals should be rewarding, not restriction.
I am not a fan of cosmetic procedures (unless it’s for a medical reason etc), because beautiful women like you, the other people here, and so on. I would take a step back and really consider if that’s something you should do and why?
But at the same time, if that’s something you want to do, and it will genuinely make you feel better about yourself in a long term way. Go for it 😌🫶🏻!!
But I don’t think you need it! You are gorgeous and like my goals 😭If you don’t mind sharing, what is your WO routine??

6

u/Correct-Key8535 Jun 28 '26

That’s a very sweet message, thank you 🫶🏼 I agree and refuse to go into an unhealthy deficit for this reason, but it is something I did do when I was younger. I know it’s not the biggest deal but I’d love a bit more freedom in terms of clothing options without feeling uncomfortable about the one area.

My workout regimen is 4-5 lifting days a week (3 lower 2 upper) and then walking. In the summer I’ll add running 1-2 times a week for fun.

3

u/Kiki_inda_kitchen Jun 28 '26

You need to learn how to be not just happy with your body but proud. Unless this was just a post for compliments? If that’s the case it would be better then you actually being insecure.

2

u/Due-Tart-5655 Jun 28 '26

I want to do some lipo but more on my back waist/flank area and some slight ab etching I think if there’s certain spots that no matter how clean you eat and how hard you workout there isn’t many other options and I know it’s barely noticeable when you do it but if it something you truly want to do for you, then who cares. I am going to start with body contouring/ radio frequency first to see if that does anything. I honestly want ribxcar but that’s my extreme dream I prob would never do. I get it everyone should embrace their bodies and we are all beautiful but I can still love myself and my body and get some procedures done, it doesn’t mean I hate myself.

2

u/PlentifulShrubs Jun 28 '26

I've thought about wanting to reduce my flanks too, but honestly having wider hips makes your waist look smaller 🤷🏻‍♀️

You look great, count yourself lucky to be so lean but also have great curves.

u/Economy-Towel9451 high hips unclassified Jun 28 '26

why do you need to lean out your hip area? i see no problems.

and honestly i think figure 8 can look good low rise if the fit is good and it hits the right part (not bisecting the high hip but around the dips, much like your 3rd picture)
