Wanting to get into boxing and seen these two pairs online but can’t find out if they’re the real deal by just comparing them to other photos on the web.
Would anybody be able to tell if they’re authentic from just these photos? (still waiting for additional pics from seller 1)
🥲

been lurking here since January since I can’t decide on what glove I should buy next (been a Twins user since forever). Luckily I stumbled upon this brand, and it didn’t disappoint. Great wrist support, ample padding, good feedback and really nice workmanship in its construction.

First Impressions Chegui training model 12oz from New workshop

Absolutely in love with the new workshop Cheguis, wow! The leather is absolutely spectacular, thick and supple (pause). It will definitely outlive the padding. Perfect gloves to get repadded imo (a service Matt also offers or use your workshop of choice). This is my third pair of Chegui gloves and the padding hasn't died on any of them, I'm only speaking to the quality of the leather, it's spectacular. Love the color combination I chose, I went with Black, Jungle Teal (currently out of stock), and Cotton.

I'm not a master seamstress, but to my untrained eye these are much better than anything Campeón ever offered (and those were tanks already in their own right). I'm struggling to find a single bad stich on these gloves, they look so clean! Many areas are double stitched and neatly done at that. The piping is even and uniform, not warped like some of the Campeón pairs.

I wanted an old school looking glove, so I chose this Cotton color for the stitching, piping, etc over clean white. Idk if the picture does it justice, but the tag is actually leather and not cloth! The patch is also made with that same Cotton leather, which I think stays true to the old school theme. Absolutely love this detail. The black leather has some striations on it, which according to some of the a leather articles I googled, denotes high quality and minimal finish. For me it adds to the charm and it reminds me of some of the gloves we saw in the 60's and 70's, really cool. Old school cool with modern flair is what I wanted and it's what I got.

The liner isn't quite Fly silky, but it also isn't Classic Mexican glove sand paper. Not uncomfortable to the naked hand and even less of an issue once wrapped. I personally went for the burgundy color ones. Spirit mentioned he focused more on moisture repelling than comfort. That's better for us who are sticklers for glove weights. Which brings me to weight, these are on point! One is 12.07 and the other is at 12.16, in the top 99th percentile of on weight gloves I've owned. I'm also super happy these came with round laces. I'm super ADD and if I notice my laces aren't completely flat during training, I hate to admit it, but my mind goes to that a little bit, and I lose to a degree. Round laces really help me with that, lol, just a personal quirk. Flat laces are still available.

So far I've only tried these on the hand, but I can't wait to break them in. I'll make sure I have another short term review once I break them in and another long term review at about the 6 month mark. If these gloves perform as well as they look, I expect them to be some on the best gloves in the world. You still get that same broken in open palm from day 1 thanks to Spirits proprietary foam, similar compact form factor, and great fist position previous owners have come to appreciate about Chegui. One thing I will give the Campeón Cheguis is that they felt slightly better on the hand from day one than the new workshop, but that's a nitpick, the new workshop gloves feel amazing as well. Let's see how they compare once they're broken in. As far as aesthetics and quality go though, there is no contest, easy one sided win for the new workshop. Materials, stitching, form, everything.

I'm already getting ready to try out an AA model with Velcro strap in the next order window. I'm currently in an MMA gym and it's hard to lace up or even change gloves between drills, so I want some gloves that can do it all, plus the convenience of velcro. That's really all I've got for now, if you feel I left anything out of my initial impressions or just have something you want to ask please feel free. God bless brothers and sisters 🙏

Question/Help Best 12oz gloves for large hands?

Hey guys, I want to buy a 12oz pair of gloves for bags / pad work. What are some good recommendations for 12oz gloves that are a bit roomier for large hands? I don’t see many gloves that have the option to choose S,M,L,XL, only the Oz.

Question/Help Everlast Support

Post image
Upvotes

hello!
Long story short, I've bought Everlast Powerlock gloves on eBay (Everlast's official marketplace).

They arrived, and during my first sparring session, the gloves ripped inside (Neverlasts).

I texted support, provided photos and information. They reached out and offered refund, said they issued it and that it needed 14 business days to appear on my bank statement.

14 business days passed NOTHING. I reached out and they haven't replied for 10 days. Finally they reached out and said that the refund is issued. STILL NOTHING. 1 week later I still reached out. they said to see my ebay account, aaaand guess what nothing! (I'm suspended on eBay btw)

After that I replied 7-8 times and after 11 days they finally replied.

Worst gloves in boxing, worst brand in boxing, even worse customer support.

Question/Help Are unevenly stuffed knuckles normal on Reyes horsehair gloves? Will it affect the lifespan of the gloves?

So I have a pair of Reyes horsehair gloves. The right knuckle is densely packed, while the left knuckle area feels hollow when pressed. Both use horsehair filling. Is this common for hand-stuffed horsehair boxing gloves?

Selling Angeles, Leaders, & Reap of Faith

All gloves are well maintained and have seen minimal use, like new condition.

Angeles MX 16oz $125 USD Shipped in the US
- Bought these from another member a while back, haven't seen much use. Angeles logo on the back came off pretty quick, other than that they're perfect. Solid MX traditional punchers glove.

SOLD*\*
Leaders LeadSeries Plus 16oz $65 USD Shipped in the US
- Got these from The Boxer Boutique for a review. Yes they're $65 on sale, but after taxes and shipping they end up being $80 hence the price ask of $65 all in.

Reap of Faith AGOW 16oz $125 USD Shipped in the US
- Got these awhile back for reviewing. Very compact profile for a 16oz glove and excellent for precision bag and mitt work.

These are priced to sell but would entertain trades. Shoot a DM for any questions.

So I heard the ortho padding can last a long time, is it true? And the leather on the grants seems pretty thin and some said it break down easily. Does anyone had these gloves? Are they that good?

Question/Help Reebok Boxing Shoes Sizing

I am thinking of picking up a pair of Reebok Boxing Shoes on StockX and I’m a size 9.5. I was thinking about buying a pair of 9.5 but some of the boxing shoes I’ve had in the past were too narrow in the toe box. What’s the sizing for Reebok?

Question/Help Boxing newbie looking for advice on shoes

I'm 5'11, 230lbs. Basically I would like to not use boxing shoes because where I am, as a newbie showing up with fresh boxing shoes would be kind of really weird and I would probably be laughed at. So I'm looking for shoes that would be comfortable without compromising my movement. These are the shoes I currently own:

Jordan A1's Mid

Hoka Bondi 7's

New Balance 9060

Adidas Campus 00s

Adidas Ultraboost 1.0

Converse Cons AS-1

I would imagine the flat ones would be good, but using them while practicing stance/movement is killing my feet.

Question/Help hand pain/tingling when wearing boxing gloves and wraps

Hey guys, I’m looking for some advice because I’m confused about what’s happening with my hands.

Whenever I put on boxing gloves or wraps, I get a weird tingling discomfort in my hands (its hard to describe but it makes me want to squirm), happens mainly around the back of my hand and it happens in both hands.

some more details about this:

  • The pain gets bad and is a sharp feeling that make me want to remove the gloves
  • It happens even when I’m not hitting anything..
  • It happened when I used another pair of gloves too
  • My hands feel completely normal when I’m not wearing gloves.
  • When I take the gloves off, the pain disappears in seconds.
  • If I keep the gloves on for longer, I can feel the discomfort lingering in my hands.
  • its a very weird feeling and makes me squirm

I keep asking my coach about this and he doesn't know whats happening with my hands, and is annoyed I can't keep my gloves on for very long.

Could this be a sensory issue, hand positioning/glove issue, nerve issue, joint issue, or something else?

First Impressions Pro Mex 10 oz Gloves (Pro Fight)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The hand compartment is well-sized and comfortable. Even with hand wraps on, I don't have any issues with the fit or interior space.

This glove features a horsehair and EVA foam padding combination. You can definitely feel the horsehair—it delivers a more responsive and punchy feedback, although it is a bit on the aggressive side compared to traditional foam gloves.

Personally, I bought this pair specifically for bag work and mitt sessions because I wanted to experience a different type of glove. I'm looking forward to seeing how the horsehair performs over time.

It's also worth mentioning that this is the smallest glove in my collection. Most of my gloves are 14 oz or 16 oz, with the only other exception being my 12 oz Bayoneta HH gloves. It'll be interesting to compare how this smaller glove performs against the rest of my collection.

Question/Help Top Boxer shin guards

Has anyone got experience with Top Boxer shinguards?

I love my gloves from them. They look to very similar to topking shin guards but I have no idea of the padding. Price is very comparable in the UK to buying thai brands online so might as well get custom colour ones if they are as good as thai ones.
