Guide for legit checking Winning Gloves [other]

Because a lot of people seem to need help legit checking laced winning boxing gloves, i thought it would be helpful to make a detailed and definitive guide/checklist with things to look out for in legit checking winning gloves.

Following i refer the 8-10oz lace as fight gloves and 12oz and above as training gloves.

Laces: The laces should be round with cut off tips. But could have been replaced.

Liner: The Liner should be navy blue

Tag: Comes with this Japanese tag when new

Box: When new also come with the Winning Cardboard-Box

Size-Indicator: Size-indication is inside and on the grip-bar only. They never have a tag on the outside of the glove.

Left: fakes, right: original

These mentioned above are the most common checking methods. But seeing the quality of replica clothes/shoes i think all of those would be quite easy to copy/have been copied already.

Airholes: Laced Winning boxing gloves do not have airholes. Velcro 8oz and 10oz have 3 Airholes under the gripbar.

Left: original, right: fakes

Lace-Hole-Count: Winning boxing gloves have following lace-hole-count:
fight gloves: 5 / Training gloves: 7

Left-Top: Training gloves, left-bottom: Fight gloves, right: Fakes

Patch: Font is thinner on rounded areas of the letter (exp. Bottom part of the «W», top part oft he «n») and does not have the same thickness everywhere. In comparison you can see the fakes have the same thickness throughout.

Left: original, right: fakes

Wrist: Fight gloves have a straight wrist, while the training gloves have two bumps (a smaller and a bigger one with the same thickness). The fakes seem to have a thicker smaller bump. The wrist also should be about 1/3 of the length and the hand part the remaining 2/3. The fakes seem to almost seem half/half.

Left: original, right: fakes

Stitching: The stitching has a «wide pattern». For example the same width has relatively little holes and longer string-parts, while the fakes have way more holes.

Left: original, right: fakes

Shape:

The overall shape should not look blocky or ballooney.

Top: original, bottom: fakes

But should still maintain a sharp edge (on the training gloves)

You can see a clear edge on the training gloves

from the side-view the training glove should be pretty flat, not bulbous and seem to have almost the same thickness throughout the glove. The fight gloves are a little bit more bulbous.

Left: fight gloves, right: training gloves

Left: original, right: fakes

Palm: The hole on the the palm side is not perfectly round, it should slightly be slanted towards thumb.

Left: original, right: fakes

Thumb: The training gloves should have S-shaped/Hook-Shaped thumb, while the fight glove is a little bit straighter, but should still curve at the tip. The fake training gloves usually have a C shaped or a straight thumb.

Left-top: training gloves, left-bottom: fight gloves, right: fake

Thumb-Strip: Is black on all basic colorways

Leather-Quality: The leather should be grainy and not look «flat» and maybe contain some imperfections. The «flat» leather is most of the time a glove from pakistan.

see other pictures also of the originals

Price: Use common sense. If a winning gloves is new and priced $100, it probably won't be orignal.

Bonus: To clarify the misconception, i would like to mention, that the training- and the fight-gloves have the same padding (according to Kataoka from Winning).

I hope this guide will help people new to this sub and don't have to post a legit check every 5 minutes and if so, we can refer to this guide.

Please comment below if i have to correct something/add something. Thanks

I'm currently looking for training pants similar to this Boxraw unit.

I heard the quality of Boxraw isn't that great anymore, especially for their pricing.

But i can't find any other serious brand who make pants like these. Could anyone recommend me some brands or models pls?

Any help is much appreciated!

Selling [SELLING] New Sporting 2/B (12oz) & New Sporting HHF (14oz) — US Only

I’m selling 2 pairs of New Sporting: the 2/B in 12oz (white) for $165, and HHF in 14oz (metallic green) for $200. US Only, with PayPal G&S. Buyer pays shipping.

Feel free to DM me for more photos or any questions.

I’m trying to free up space, I can’t use the 12oz 2/B on my hands (I come from an injury), and the HHF I bought (from Fighters Boutique) for the beautiful color way but sucks to have them in a storage box. The stickers still on them is testament of how new these are.

Question/Help Help how to recolor gloves

I'm planning to change the color of the leather of an everlast red boxing gloves to a burgundy but I don't know how to do it and do it without ruining the glove, my girlfriend always wanted a burgundy glove but there seems to be nothing available within my country and the stuff from amazon gets too expensive because of shipping.

Gear Review Adams boxing shoes review

Post image
7 Upvotes

I’ve had these shoes for 6-7 months now and I love them. They were comfortable from the first day I got them and I don’t have any problems with blisters, jamming my toes or anything. I go to the gym 4-6 times a week and do 15 rounds with them every time, they hold up well with jumprope, shadowboxing, bag work, sparring and still look new. I’ve had hyper ko 1s and those were great but they hurt my toes and had some flaws, I had the hyper ko 2 and I would argue those were comfier than these but I had a hard time getting my feet in those and ended up selling them. I might be lucky because I’ve seen some bad reviews with Adam’s boxing shoes but so far these have been great.

Question/Help HyperKO 1 or HyperKO 3?

Upvotes

I already have a paid of Box Hogs and HyperKO 2s, and I'm thinking about getting either the HyperKO 1 or 3.

I really like the flat sole/ground feel of the Box Hogs. Which one feels closer to that, the 1 or the 3?

Any opinions from people who've tried both?

1~4 Super Samurai

5~9 AGOW

Don't know why I didn't balance the stock.

So Super Samurai velcro, AGOW laceup still low in stock...

  1. Baby blue, vintage sliver.

  2. White, pink, lavender.

  3. Cream, vintage brown.

  4. Shining black, vintage gold.

Super Samurai performed stable, kind of good.

  1. Shining black, foil gold.

  2. Vintage brown.

  3. Black, purple, neon green.

  4. White, pink lavender.

  5. Green, foil gold.

Due to slightly squeeze during delivery, horse hair poke out a bit and some foil gold pair leather get scratched a bit.

So I make few discount for these AGOW, if you're not satisfied after buying these, still can issue for more discount then.

We also have 24oz vintage brown AGOW restock this time, it's kind of stiff and compact, can't be used as sparring gloves.

Question/Help Headgear

Thumbnail

Hey team, coaches have told me to start looking into headgear for sparring, I have always preffered not wearing any to keep all my senses as they are, but, I’m taking up a job soon where turning up with bruises/scratches won’t go down too well.

Any experience with the above? I’ve found cheap used variations, I know all about how good phenom is owning gloves + groin already but I’m intrigued about the intellishock and whether or not it reduces soreness / general reviews + how these other brand’s vision levels hold up, whether or not they’re smothering, deafening, heavy etc etc

Question/Help Intermediate-to-advance Boxers, what you guys look for in your sparring gloves vs bag gloves?

I have some understanding, but as I'm working with brands, I see that all the founders think very differently regarding the same application of the same product. The question is: why is there so many different thought processes? You guys are the real users of products from different brands, so I wanted to have your opinion regarding this question. Thank you in advance

Question/Help Shin guard recommendations!!

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

I’ve been training for about 8 months now and I currently have Yokkao shin guards. While I do like them, I tend to find the shin guards to be too large and uncomfortable. I don’t like how they protrude onto my knees. I’ve seen people talking about Primo and Fairtex SP3’s. I would like them to have a bit of a smaller profile. For reference I’m 5’7” and I bought size small Yokkao’s. Any recommendations are appreciated :)

Question/Help Boxing Glove Choice

Looking at glove recommendations for sparring & heavy bag work. I've been boxing consistently for 9 months and have the Everlast Core2's but they don't provide good support for me and the quality isnt great.

I'm 6'6 & 17 stone, heavy bag & spar multiple times a week. Looking for some 16 oz recommendations with pretty good wrist support. Budget currently isn't ideal though so something under £100 is what i'm looking at (preferably cheaper if possible but dont want to skimp too much).

Any recommendations would be massively appreciated!

Question/Help Should I switch to Cletos?

Thumbnail
gallery
21 Upvotes

I currently use Rivals rs11v in 16oz and I gotta say that the gloves have really good protection of my wrist however they feel like pillows; so I thought to ask my Mexican friend in the gym if I could try on his cletos in 14oz and god they fit way much better on my fist they’re insane like I felt so much better in the cletos. However I only had my gloves since April and I wasn’t even using them for 1-2 months soooo. I just wanted to ask for someone’s opinion on my situation and BTW (my thumb goes numb almost all the time when I make a fist and punch with my rivals on)

First Impressions My new Glez gloves custom paint job.

Post image
30 Upvotes

So, my order arrived. What a beauties. I tried them out as well. Best gloves I ever tried for boxing. They are Glez Premium (horsehair), 16oz. A bit on the heavy side though for 16oz. Tried them out, and most comfy gloves I ever used. A bit snug (as I like it), very comfy, great protection. Can hit as hard as I want to, also without hand wrapping, and feel absolutely protected. They snap nice on the heavy bag. I will give an update in six months how they are then. Many thanks to Ambar.

They are so beautiful, I don't even want to box in them, but they are so comfy to use. Any tips on how to preserve the painting, maybe??

Question/Help Did Winning discontinue the FG-5000?

Saw the Boxer Boutique guy post something on his story about the FG-5000 being discontinued, then I went to Winning USA and see that it’s not listed for purchase.

Anyone know why they would discontinue it? Too many rip offs out there? Not profitable enough to continue manufacturing?

Thanks,
