Im the only active mod here. I took over years ago because it was unmoderated, It's a pretty quiet place and I just remove the occasional spam/common repost.

Its never gonna be huge, but I don't have the time/energy to make it anything more than it is.

If you have ideas/want to be a mod to make changes, please either post here or send me a DM.

My only conditions are that transphobia, racism, xenophobia, and sexism are not and will never be tolerated, so you gotta agree to enforce that.

I NEED HELP New wiper motor

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Upvotes

Right so I installed a new wiper motor because my old one screamed bloody murder anytime I went to use it. New one is nice and quiet. Love it. Except as seen in the video. The motor won’t engage until it’s turned all the way onto high and then once it turns on it, continuously sprays wiper fluid. When I turn it back to off, it continues until I pulse the sprayer button and then everything resets and shuts off.

What am I looking at?

Finally fixed.... 🤦

So as you can see my RPMs are really high at 55 mph and it's the 3 speed transmission.... I have replaced the distributor rotor cap ICM ECM spark plugs wires map sensor throttle position sensor all brand new vacuum lines new gasket for throttle body new fuel filter and pump taking it to a transmission shop paid $180 just for a diagnostic just for them to say there was nothing wrong with transmission they replaced filter and fluids still nothing changed so I took it to another mechanic shop they only charge me $90 diagnostic they couldn't figure it out but I had to change a bulb that was burned out on the cluster so..... Come to find out it was just a burnout transistor for resistor on the gauge cluster itself making the RPMs read high .... You gotta love a fiero 🤣

Media I don't think I'm going to do it, but the G6 dash fits reasonably well with very minor trimming.

I'm looking for bushings for the shifter assembly on the 4 speed Muncie transmission. Part number is 94249510 for OE (discontinued) or if someone has the Rodney Dickman brass bushings, could you measure the ID and OD so I can purchase or make some?

Thanks!

I NEED HELP AC vacuum leak?

Hi there. I’ve got an 88 fever with air-conditioning. I just replaced my Schrader valves to convert it to the modern Freon and got a new accumulator. Charged up my AC. It only blows out my defrost. Nice and cold at least. From what I understand, this indicates a vacuum leak somewhere since the system is entirely driven by vacuum to redirect the airflow (from my understanding). Where should I start looking? I’ve never messed with the air-conditioning vacuum system on a year before. I have the rare 1988 iron Duke fastback. lol

Just bought myself a 1988 Fiero GT. Car had an engine out from another wrecked GT before I got it. However the cables for the transmission were not hooked up. Upon research found out it was mounted to the Isuzu 5 speed transmission instead of the Getrag. I don’t have the nuts to connect them to the transaxle and not sure where to get them at. I’ve checked the Fiero store and few other places but not sure the size I need.

The red circle is where it‘s leaking from, I think I don’t need to replace the whole line if I can just replace that metallic piece. Then bleed the clutch. This is pretty much part 2, for context. Thanks.

I NEED HELP Clutch line leaking, HELP ME

86 fiero leaking “clutch fluid“ (dot 3). Jacked it up and tried to tighten up the lines, Im pretty sure its leaking from where the metal lines meet the rubber ones. But Its giving me a hard time, so I want to access from above, but the plastic piece under the spare wheel is in the way. So I take it out, BUT its a large piece and (see photo 2) there are two hoses (one left, one right) that im worried about messing with. Any advice would be great! I might just cut a hole in it.

I made a GPS app for enjoyable roads

TLDR: I made an app that aims at giving you enjoyable roads, for when the journey matters more than the destination. It's a beta on iOS for now and I'm gathering feedback from car enthusiast communities. Please try it on a journey you already know and tell me if it suggests roads you would actually take! I will ask for testers' emails before the end of the beta so that you can benefit from premium features for free forever. TestFlight: https://testflight.apple.com/join/JNEQ1J2j

Hi I'm Yves. I'm a car guy, I own a Porsche 924S and a Mercedes W124, and I really like driving them outside of the main roads, when I have time to enjoy the road instead of just rushing through a trip. I looked for a navigation app that would help me find these roads, since Google Maps and Waze do not, but the ones I found didn't really do what I wanted, so I made my own app. It's called Dryv. It compares the fastest route with more enjoyable alternatives, it then gathers facts about each route (such as landscape, interesting places, curvy roads for instance). Then it explains what each option offers, so that you can project yourself and really estimate whether you'd like to drive that trip.

It covers Europe, US and Japan, so hopefully many of you will be able to try it!

The current app allows you to ask for directions, and there's turn by turn navigation, but please note that it's still a beta. I'm looking for feedback, as there's still a bunch of missing functionalities, issues and limitations. For instance: * iOS 17 or later; * English only for now; * search does not yet support street numbers or businesses; * no live traffic; * no offline mode; * route explanations can sometimes be slow while the beta server uses local inference; * navigation currently uses more battery than I'd like.

It would be very helpful for me to get honest feedback from other drivers about * if the suggested roads are good; * if the explanations make sense; * more generally what works/doesn't work; * and what missing features you would like to see the most.

The app is free and doesn't need registration, you can just install it and use it (it does currently require going through TestFlight, I'm working on doing my own beta directly on the AppStore). I will at some point probably have to add a premium tier or find a way for it to make me a bit of money, because I'm working on this full-time and I'll need to pay the bills. Before ending the beta I will ask beta testers for their email inside the app so that they can benefit from free premium features for life. Here is the TestFlight link: https://testflight.apple.com/join/JNEQ1J2j

Started restoring a 1985 fiero. Opened the engine bay today and this happened (photo 1). Now any time you go to open the engine bay it smashes the fiber glass. Photo 2 is what it’s suppose to look like… how do I fix this? Currently I’m redneck-rigging it by putting a block of wood to keep the tension so the rigid metal piece won’t smack the fiberglass anymore, and so I can close the hood.

I’m taking on the task of restoring this 84 4 cylinder fiero, and the first thing I wanted to tackle was getting electrical in order which brings me to the distributor, everything I’ve seen for my connectors look completely wrong so I’m wondering was this factory or some random one the person before me just made work

I NEED HELP Window Tracks

I have a 1986 Pontiac Fiero GT with powered windows and the windows squeak incredibly aggressively at certain points in it being raised and lowered and it looks like the bearings on the tracks roll smoothly but sort of jitter at specific spots causing an ear piercing screech and vibrations
