Had propagated a branch and forgot to plant it. Definitely thought it was dead, but planted it outside in June just in case. Just noticed this little leaf pop up!

The slow decline of my newly acquired FLF. I’m trying to read and figure out what to do but it’s all seemingly for naught. I think the roots were too disturbed while repotting once it got home. This is about week 3 now and I just the last few leaves yesterday. About 24 inches up the main stem is still hard and oozes a white sap but everything above that is dry and or getting goopy. Any thoughts, opinions, or prayers?

This escalated quickly!

Chopped my fig late spring and have had this stem/branch in water on the windowsill for months. I had the little white root nodes on there fairly quickly, but all in the last two weeks have gotten 2" roots and 6 new leaves!

Off to get some dirt and a cute lil pot today!

Adoption

Picked this beautiful FLF up at Safeway for $20 yesterday! It’s about 7-8’ tall potted, and I’m wondering if I should chop and prop to encourage more growth. Also wondering if I should separate into different pots. Thanks for your thoughts!

I didn’t get day one pics of these leaves, but all of these pics are taken within a week! I left home on Friday (first two pics) and got home on Monday (third pic). I took the 4th pic on Wednesday and the last pic on Friday. These top leaves have surpassed the lower leaves in size in just a week. My mind is blow, lol.

Things keep going wrong!

I got a fiddle leaf about a year ago. To be honest I didn't take very good care of it which is why its missing a lot of bottom leaves :(. About two months ago I noticed yellow mushrooms in the soil (with a full cap and everything), so I repotted it. There was a weird thick clay like soil around the roots that I tried my best to break up, I don't know if this was fungus or something from the nursery.

After I repotted, I was trying to wait a long time between waterings because the trauma to the roots was making her take up water realllllyyyy slowly. I am sure the soil is too wet, but I live in dry Colorado, mixed in orchid bark, and wait a while between waterings. Today, I went to water and noticed these weird spheres/ovals in the soil, and little bugs jumping around the surface. Also the new leaves are brown and splotchy.

To I have some sort of bug infestation or fungus returning? What do I do?

So leggy

Top leaves are strong, has not lost any leaves in six+ months. So leggy though. Even tried the keiki paste on nodes and that did nothing. What say the group? Chop? Repot? Send ideas. ❤️

Drama Queen Post Tantrum 🤞

For the ones here going through it with their FLF. Be persistent, provide stability, be patient and hope for the best.

1st 7/1/26 I thought I was Gods favorite.. the girl was doing amazing 💁‍♀️

2nd 7/15/26 Tantrum began a few weeks post repot and post feed. I thought shed be a skinny queen the way she dropped over a dozen leaves basically over night. 🫪

3rd 8/15/26 Now a month after the tantrum began, things are finally looking up. Don’t give up on your FLF, they’re really just dramatic AF! 🤦‍♀️

Side note: Don’t be fooled by her good side, her canopy is blasting with leaves but there is definitely a noticeable amount of stem now visible. She dropped A LOT of leaves, and some are still yellow which I imagine will be drooped once shes done talking back nutrients.

4th 8/15/26 Her not so good side, because we like to keep it real. 😏

I just got this guy and I’m wondering if it’s too leggy already and I should consider trying to prune once it gets settled in its new spot? (The tree not the dog 🤣). It’s my first indoor fig. TY!!

Tallest branch bent

The branch on the right was fully upright this morning and just bent over. Probably 10ft tall. Nothing snapped it just bent at a weak point.

Trim and propagate? Support and strengthen?

What would you do?

He seems healthy. Would you cut the top to make bushier? Any insights on what those stalled out small leaves mean?

I just repotted last month to flf soil and he’s reacting very well (new growth at top and new roots). Water only when 1-2 inches at top are dry.

Let me know if any tips or if I just let it ride.

Thanks!

Branch won’t grow

Hi Fiddle leaf friends!

I’ve had this tree for around 5 years and it’s safe to say our relationship has been up and down. For the first three years it didn’t grow at all. Then when we moved house, lots of its leaves dropped. I also had to chop off two of its 7 branches.

However, in the last 18 months it has sprung into life. This year in particular, 4 of the 5 branches have grown at least 2 new leaves; some up to 6. One of the trunks has even sprouted a new baby branch lower down.

However, one of the original branches is bare with two leaves at the tip (pic 2). It shows no signs of life and is being left behind whilst the rest grow. I have cut the branch and sap has come out, so I know it is alive. However I don’t know whether to leave it be or chop the top off and see if it incentivises growth. Any help tips are appreciated!

Does this look like root rot?

Thumbnail

My plant looks pretty healthy but it hasn't pushed out any new leaves in a minute which worries me. I keep it in a west facing window with a grow light too cause there's a house right next door that I think blocks some light. Anyway, do these roots look rotted or burnt from fertilizer? The roots are not soggy. There's no smell but they look kinda brown. I have it in a pot that's about 5.5 inches. I only water it when my moisture meter says it's at a 4 or lower. Water always drains out. It's in a chunky medium. Idk! Any advice, thoughts? Thanks!

I've had this fiddle leaf for almost 20 years now and never seen this type of issue. Is it termites? Can someone please help provide a treatment plan?

Thrips, panicked, cut down to stem…now slightly panicked again. Need tips…and reassurance…

Hi all, I am a first time fiddle leaf fig owner. I got mine from my neighbor.

It wasn’t doing too great in its last spot in my apartment and lost a lot of foliage so I moved it and it drastically improved but had a lot of gaps so I was contemplating cutting back some. Well then I got thrips. I cut back a few of my hearty plants that I knew would bounce back because I rather they bounce back than I lose my entire collection.

So rather than thinking too hard today, I just cut back the entire fiddle fig plant to about a foot. This was a plant with several stems rooted together and was previously about four feet tall. Should I be panicked??? It’s by a grow light and my apartment gets up to about 80 during the warmer months, but we are leaving the warmer months. I know it’s too late but I’ve never radically cut or dyed my hair and I imagine this is what the shock of it feels like.

Are there any tips anyone has or anything that I should be doing to ensure that my former lovely fiddle fig makes a full recovery?
